This Starbucks is located in Santa Maria right off the 101 freeway and Main street. It is easy access specially if you're passing by town. The parking lot I can't be a little bit tricky to get into but otherwise it's location is very convenient to get in and out of from the freeway. Overall it's a fairly standard Starbucks in the best way possible. Everything is what you would expect and there's no surprises. I've been there couple times now and nothing has ever gone wrong. Be sure to download the Starbucks app so you can mobile order your food and drinks so it can be waiting for you once you get to the store. I'm generally pretty impatient so I don't like to wait but I'm also fine where my drinks don't have to be in peak heat/cold so luckily this is a great option for me. Husband went through drive thru and I took the kids out to eat their granola bars outside of the car. One of the kids in went to ask for water and they sent him out since he hadn't purchased anything. I've never had Starbucks turn down a request for water, I know it's a terrible habit, but they have good water‍. Got my my favorite skinny non fat white chocolate mocha here and the barista at this particular outlet got it just perfect! This particular Starbucks as sufficient seating arrangements and is pretty conveniently located by the intersection just off the freeway so good for beaks/stopovers. read more

Service is whatever. The lady at the counter wasn't friendly and was a little condescending. I came here to study because back home the Starbucks has a good study space. Its is beyond loud, the music is turned so high I can hear even with headphones. I should have went to the other Starbucks that had two stars. rating so no one else makes the same mistake. Not good for studying. Baristas are literally yelling because music is so loud. Frustrating. read more

Driving through last weekend and made a comfort stop at this location. Noting that the driveway entrance is really tight. Once inside the parking lot and through the doors, it went smoothly. The restroom was reasonably clean. Counter service went quickly with our orders filled as requested. About what you want when on the road. Their oversized wall graphics are visually interesting. On vacation out in Santa Maria, was looking for a place to get some hot tea, and found a Starbucks. It doesn't have a drive thru, so you have to walk in. I did noticed that out of all the walk in ones I've been too, this by far was the best one. Pretty busy, with only two employees, they brought the drinks out pretty quick. I came in here twice, in the morning and both times I didn't have to wait long for my drink. They did however run out out of soy one morning, but the employee gave me other options for it. I ended up adding almond milk instead of the soy. Friendly staff and I like the fact that they did offer something else in place of something out of stock, it's actually the first Starbucks employee to have done that. Otherwise I would of just walked away empty handed. read more

I had an issue with my coffee I had mobile ordered for my daughter. Just so happens we were having a mom/daughter date so a messed up drink wasn't the best thing to have. However I called and spoke to Lacey. Her customer service amazed me; literally left me impressed. She was professional and kind at the same time. When I went in she was the sweetest. We didn't even look all dressed up and had actually just been riding and she treated us so good. I cover a lot of area for work and she has been the best Starbucks brista yet!! After informing the Barista the their back doors keep opening & closing for no apparent reason - which in turn activates their automatic fan system above the doorway. She replied, Yes, there's nothing that can be done about it." Really? How about reporting it to your company to have it fixed?! One person complemented me (or at least said it was a complement?) and explained to me why this happens which I fully understand. With all respect, My reply is this: With all respect, I do not feel complemented by you. I completely understand why this happens, yet I do not agree that people would rather have the fan going off and on - wasting a HUGE amount of energy, and creating unnecessary noise. As you probably know, there is only seating for about 4 people on this patio, and the purpose of the fan is to preserve the air-conditioned atmosphere of the interior of the store. For as little use as this patio actually gets used and as infrequently as these doors are purposefully opened to enter or exit the patio - I say turn the fans off! There are other solutions as well. But just understanding why a problem happens, without making viable and effective corrections is wasteful and neglectful. read more

Always a great coffee, fast, friendly, the best. I'm all about straight espresso or a black Pike's Place. I'm never disappointed.

This is for the young woman, who AFTER ringing me up for a 'grande coffee in a vente cup, fill the rest with 1/2 & 1/2' (which I've done for around 20 years) charging me for a vente (which I expected) and asking me to insert my credit card, after that DECIDED TO ADD a $ 0.50 to my order for half and half. Once again she made this additional charge AFTER I inserted my card. Then as I was trying to watch her to see how much half & half she was using. She told me to stand somewhere else (so I couldn't watch). After getting my order I tasted it and it was literally only 50% coffee. Really . . . . . ? I decided to ask a different barista to poor some out and fill it with more coffee and she happily gave me a new cup and fulfilled my order (If I could give 5 stars to the latter barista I would). $3.45 for a plain ol cup of coffee with cream in it? I grew up here on the central coast, my son was born 2 blocks away at Marion Hospital. We should expect better from each other as we work to serve each other in these trying times. read more
