Well today's visit put the nail in the coffin of Cafe Andreini. We gazed down the street and saw the line at Mule. Decided to give Cafe another shot. What an utter disappointment. Ordered the Wake Me Up avocado toast. I'd call it the Drain Your Wallet Avocado toast. Got a 5 inch long piece of bread barely any avocado and 2 sliver thin tomatoes and a pile of micro greens. Board was finished with a pile of rosemary sprigs and basil bigger than the toast. All that for $14.50!!! To boot the zucchini bread was dried out completely except for the center. The first time I came here it sure left a lasting impression. And by that, I needed more of the scones...lol... We stopped by after the weekend up in Paso Robles for wine tasting and SLO town. It was still early so the town was pretty mellow and starting to open up. Well, this place was very lively and packed when we arrived. They have patio seating with some table's available but once you walk inside, the place was packed. All the tables and seat were utilized with people enjoying their meal and a cup of coffee. And a line forming for ordering. I've only had their drinks and pastries but they do offer food. Seeing what was being picked up and taken back to their seats, everything looked amazing. The open sandwiches, a must try next time we're here. But I was there for one thing, the scones. I don't know if they are made on site or from another establishment but let me say, they are fantastic. Everything was very tasty and not dry like some are. There's always a few selection which does sell out fast. I picked up the blueberry, favorite out of them all and a must try. The lemon which was tasty and not overly sweet and the maple syrup. Slightly sweet but not overly. And they're not dry which was the best part. By the time I ordered mine, majority of them were sold out. People must know about this place. Same thing with the town, I'm not sure if it was more locals or visitors that was visiting the place but it was happening. Besides the drinks and food, they also have coffee and teas for purchase as well as apparels. It's a full coffee shop and cafe with great drinks and delicious looking meals. Plus the customers service is top notch with the sweetest staff. Highly recommended stopping by for a meal or even a coffee. read more

I loved reading that Cafe Andreini is the town's (technically small city) first coffee shop established in 1996 by a local. It's located in "The Village," Arroyo Grande's downtown area. It's a big space inside with A lot of seating, including couches in the back. Service is nice and friendly. I got the Creamy Vanilla Bean latte, which was nice in the brief rain we just had. I was very, very unimpressed with Cafe Andreini. The coffee was really not very good at all; no flavor or actual coffee taste. I ordered an iced latte with an add shot and it tasted like watered down (barely) coffee. Orders the bacon tacos and bacon and they were extremely bland, essentially with no flavor or seasonings. Service was not great either - not very friendly or friendly, However, they are dog friendly which is a plus. They also have expansive indoor and outdoor seating options which is nice. We've been coming here since it opened but haven't been here since the last Strawberry Festival ( so been a while). We ordered a family favorite Peanut Butter Mocha blended and evidently that is no longer available... shocking because it was always such a great drink! The server special ordered it for us. The largest size was 16 oz. It no longer had whipped cream or chocolate syrup. It seems this shop is geared towards older people with computers or reading. Still is cute place and I'm sure the food is good. As far as coffee goes there's so many other shops that do specialty coffee drinks that are less expensive for a lot bigger sizes. read more

Cafe Andreini was a cute place, loved the reclaimed, mixed use looking space. I was not crazy about the menu. The person at the counter was basically giving yes or no answers to open ended questions asking about the items. The breakfast tacos were great, but the other thing was (I thought) and sandwich but was instead some bacon/egg/avocado on toast. Menu could use a look, especially for people just visiting the area and aren't regulars. Still a positive experience overall. read more

Who doesn't love visiting local coffee shops when out of town? Found this spot on a casual stroll down Branch Street. This is a really beautiful cafe. The ceiling is truly mesmerizing, gorgeous It has a really welcoming and open layout with high ceilings and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's super cozy inside with a really relaxed and mellow vibe. I just stopped in for a quick coffee but they have an extensive menu offering beer, wine, sandwiches and other lunch options while also offering scones and other pastries. I was craving a hot coffee so went with the creamy vanilla bean. Luckily I was easily lost admiring how beautiful the interior of the cafe was because we had to wait a considerable amount of time for 2 coffees. (which I wouldn't have minded if...) Unfortunately, it didn't taste like Vanilla or coffee. It literally just tasted like warm and creamy milk. Better Training Urgently Required For Drink Makers..... When in the neighborhood, Cafe Andreini was a frequent stop for me until spring 2024. The quality of my simple drink was getting worse and worse so I left. In late summer of 2025, I decided to see what's going on and went back. It was just as bad. - Overall: 3 - Location: 5 - Ambiance: 3 - Menu: 4 - Drink Quality: 1 1/2 - Pastry Quality: 3 - Service: 4 - Price and Value: 3 - Parking: 4 Pros: - Location: Convenient. Right in the Village of Arroyo Grande. You can shop and eat very easily. - Ambiance: Casual and laid-back. Andreini's was decluttered a bit in the 15 months between visits and seems to look a little more professional. - Menu: Extensive. Lots of drinks and entrees - both hot and cold - with a wide array of pastries. - Service: Always friendly. If something isn't right, they'll do it again. Trouble is...they may need to. - Price and Value: Reasonable. Decent prices - especially if drinks are done properly. - Parking: Many spots in the lot behind the building. Cons: - Drinks: Bad. I had doctor appointments nearby one day after Labor Day and about a week later and ordered the same drink as follows: "Extra hot...extra foam...1/2 sweet". My drink on the 1st visit was "lukewarm...no foam and fully sweet". I asked the server for a redo. It came back "warm...some foam and 3/4 sweet". My drink on the 2nd visit was "extra hot...no foam and fully sweet". I asked the server (a different person) for a redo. It came back "extra hot...decent foam and fully sweet". Unfortunately, she scalded the milk during heating so it was super thin. - Pastries: Horrible...then good. On my first visit, I bought a slice of zucchini bread wrapped in cellophane. It was atrocious. Sandpaper dry. If I gave it to my dog I'd be in jail for animal cruelty. Perhaps I should have known since it was the last one of its kind available the day after Labor Day. My 2nd visit was much better. I got a chocolate chip cookie which turned out fine. The moral of the story? Employees who aren't fully trained and/or proficient and/or interested in doing a proper job should be assigned to something else until they're qualified. read more

I chose Café Andreini because it was conveniently located in the middle for everyone meeting up--but it ended up becoming our new favorite spot! I was catching up with friends, and we were not disappointed. The coffee was perfectly roasted, the pastries were fresh, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the breakfast burrito, and the salsa was amazing--fresh, flavorful, and the perfect kick. The waffle was fabulous, paired with fresh fruit that tasted like it had just been picked. We also ordered the avocado toast, which had a unique and delightful twist with nuts, a sweet glaze, and cheese--it was unforgettable! Café Andreini is now officially on our "must return" list. We were visiting friends in the area and stopped here for breakfast during our morning walk. The cafe is very spacious and staff were friendly. Cofffee and food were AOKAY. I'm local and I should've known better. The last time I tried this place was a couple of years ago, in fact I think it's actually even changed names but the service was completely nonexistent then and damn near the same now. I showed up at 10:30 on Sunday morning before the church crowd and ordered a waffle with scrambled eggs and bacon and a Mexican mocha. It took them 27 minutes to make my Mexican mocha and there were only about five people sitting in the restaurant. It took them over 45 minutes to make my waffle, at which point my Mexican mocha was stone cold but I still try to eat it. Then when I finally got my coffee table I discovered that it was also stone cold and the eggs and bacon ate pre-cooked - they left it sitting on the counter to set up like concrete. This is literally all I was able to get down and I watched two other families absolutely walk out because it was taking so long. Then staff refused to refund them their money because "they were finally working on it" Over 45 minutes for a burrito?!? I could see if they were busy but they're not and now I know why. Prices do not match up to how small the serving sizes are. $28.50 for two SMALL open faced sandwiches, each sandwich is a small single slice of bread. We were still hungry after. Besides the small servings & big prices, the other reason for low review is it's really gross to have light colored over-stuffed furniture with multiple large stains on them. I'm also tired of food being plated on wood cutting boards, those aren't meant for heavy use. How exactly are you cleaning them properly? You can't run them through a dishwasher, and a wipe down with a sani cloth doesn't count as cleaning. read more

I told her I wanted a traditional double espresso macchiato. It came in a 12 or 16 ounce cup filled to the top with milk. No evidence of coffee whatsoever although I'm sure it was there. It wasn't a macchiato, it wasn't a cortado, it was a latte. Please train your employees. Very cute and cozy cafe in downtown Arroyo Grande! I like the ambiance. I ordered coffee and the breakfast toast. Coffee tasted good. I liked the toast because it was fresh (I was wondering if they baked it in the morning??? ) My boyfriend ordered oatmeal and that looked good too. They have non coffee options to drink. That's nice! There were some couches to relax, which adds cozy vibe in the cafe. We went back to the cafe again next day. I ordered Blueberry scone and cafe latte. The scone was not too much sugary (that's what I like ) and latte was very tasty. There is an outdoor seating. When the weather is good, that would be nice to eat breakfast under the sunshine. Dog friendly outside, but not inside. There are some gift shops close to this cafe so maybe you can stop by for coffee after shopping. There are some public parking close to the cafe. read more

We visited this cafe twice while staying down the street for the weekend. This is an adorable little coffee shop! There is plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor, with a variety of seating options (chairs, tables, couches, etc). It was busy both mornings with people grabbing breakfast, studying, etc. The first morning we tried the sausage breakfast burrito, which was delicious and very filling, and the ABC Toast, which was very fresh and delicious, but less filling as it was just one piece of toast. The second day we shared an açaí bowl, which was delicious and a good portion size. I tried a matcha latte the first day, but their matcha comes pre-sweetened and it was way too sweet. However, the mango tea and the mint green tea were both delicious. My husband had a mocha, which he said was good but also very sweet. Great spot in AG with solid snacks and coffee/tea. I have been several times as it used to be near one of my previous employers remote locations that I would frequent several times a year. Staff was always superb and prepared the best drop coffee! Pricing is quite fair as well, but be aware this place gets busy on the weekends, but there is plenty of room inside and out for hanging out. I'd suggest grabbing a coffee and snack and walking around the small downtown area. read more

We happened upon this little cafe, which is not so little after all. It's got a big personality for a cafe, the ambiance is perfection! It's also big in size. So you can readily bring a large group. Not only do they serve great coffee, they also have a great selection of vegan options and just the best tasting food all around. We ordered the Wake me up Avocado toast, and the Açaí bowl that was divine. The Avocado toast was really delicious as well. I loved the decor, the feel was comfortable and open. You needn't worry if you can find a place to sit. There's a place for everyone. It's a cafe that is absolutely a favorite within the community as you can see so many locals about. If you happen to be in town please don't hesitate to go. Don't just order coffee, be ready to eat some amazing food, and lounge around. My only complaint is that I live so far away, that I won't be back till next year. Otherwise, this would be my go to place. Perfection in every way. I wouldn't change a thing. This café has so much to offer. It's in the arroyo grande village next to lots of shopping. Parking is all along the street and there is a small lot behind the café. The chai charger (chai with a shot of espresso) was delicious and smelled like cinnamon buns. The lavender honey latte was great, but I wish I hadn't ordered it iced. They had a lot of pastries available, and the sausage and cheese croissant and ham and cheese croissant looked really savory. The inside of the café was large. Lots of seating. Service: Oat milk latte had a good flavor but the espresso was not very strong. My daughter's latte was only two-thirds full and mostly foam. They were nice enough to remake it.
