Completing a challenge for Bonus Stars in Seattle, Washington... Starbucks is quite consistent. My usual order is: tall, black iced tea, light ice, and 2 stevia. The price was higher here, even with my personal cup. Maybe the sales tax is more than Hawaii's 4.712%? Outside, I circled the block to find parking. I guess that customers can park in the shared covered garage a few feet away. Inside, the shop was spacious and clean with customers scattered around. The Starbucks experience is not consistent across stores and it is driven by the attitude of the partners on staff. If you compare the kindness, patience, attention and personal touch between Uptown Espresso across the street and this location there is no way you would go here and not Uptown. We are all paying way too much for coffee but why go to a place that is dark and where the baristas couldn't give a darn about you or who you are as a person in this community-minded place, I don't know. read more

If I order a shaken espresso I expect it to be shaken not just pouring the shots into the cup and adding milk....

So I was at the Starbucks on 15th and ordered a drink for my daughter. We then had to drive up to magnolia and hit up ace hardware store for some amazing caulk that I have a really hard time getting anywhere else (thank you ace for carrying, the best caulk ever!). Any whooo, so my daughter and I are driving to the ace, hardware and magnolia when all of a sudden, these kids on skateboards and peddle things, jumped out in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes! Sadly, my daughter's drink spilled everywhere--on herself and everything in the backseat, the car and she did not have her precious Starbucks to drink! ( if you're curious, it was a white mocha latte that is hot with vanilla, sweet foam, cold and cold foam). She almost started crying. I told her: do you want me to kill kids or save your Starbucks drink? I decided to hit up the Starbucks on magnolia to make a new drink. So off I walked and lo and behold I had the pleasure of talking to Kawika, who gladly remade my daughters, very expensive drink, but I don't even remember, even as I just wrote it. Hats off to Starbucks and magnolia! Hats off to two Kia Waka for saving the rest of my day with my daughter and for her to stop almost crying :-) thank you, Kawika! Thank you Starbucks! This Starbucks used to be awesome and now it sucks. The new employees are SO SLOW. When I mobile order it takes around 15 minutes for my drink to be made. Three times in a row, they gave me the incorrect food item and I asked them why I kept getting a different item than I ordered and they said it was because they were sold out. I came in to order my usual 12 oz. chai latte with almond milk and a warmed up chocolate croissant. My drink came out first, and while I was waiting for my chocolate croissant and sipping on my drink, the older, middle aged male employee started to wave and pantomime drinking to me. When I finally realized he was motioning towards me, he asked "Did you pay for that?", meaning my drink. I was very confused and responded with a "Umm, yes?". He didn't say anything else and just turned away. I felt very bad and double checked my drink. It had my name and my exact order, I couldn't understand what I was doing that would have made him accuse me of stealing. I stood in line, paid, and gave a tip. There was no explanation or apology and I felt very unwelcome, so I decided to just leave before the rest of my order was ready. I work in the area and come by 3-4 days a week. I will not be back, there are plenty of other coffee shops in the area and this person obviously doesn't care if his customers come back. read more

A nice place to do work, study, or get coffee/lunch with a friend. The indoor atmosphere is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and there are outdoor seating options. The non-handicap seating options are limited when the store fills up a bit. Some of the members of the staff are inattentive (missed orders, wrong orders, etc). read more

You know you're in a nicer part of town in Seattle when you can use the bathroom without having to punch in a code and this Starbucks is definitely in a nice picturesque community surrounded by pretty little houses with nice sidewalks and neatly kept yards. For me hiking up to Discovery Park and running out of energy and needing a place to rest, this place was a bit of an oasis in the desert of those neatly kept yards so it was a beautiful thing when I saw the Starbucks sign and refueled for the last leg of my hike. Inside is pretty roomy and inviting and they even have a little outdoor seating area which was great on the day I was there. Perfect little Starbucks in the perfect neighborhood. Mr. Perfect would have been proud. read more

The Magnolia Starbucks store is consistently dirty. Every time I go in there the tables and chairs are covered in crumbs. The floor is littered with crumbs and trash. The booths and chairs are dirty. Many times I've notified the baristas that there isn't any soap or towels on the rest rooms. Trash and dead leaves litter the exterior seating areas. Never once have I seen an employee pick up a broom or a damp cloth clean to anything up. I've been the only person in the store and watch as the barista's chat amongst themselves while the place is a mess. read more

What's there to say, it's a Starbucks so it's pretty much the same as all of the other Starbucks around the city. I do have to say, though, that this one is pretty much bigger than the others that you might come across and with that added space it doesn't feel so tight when waiting for your order. I stopped into this location on a weekday morning (during which time I was expecting to wait for a while) and I was happy that the workers were very efficient with people's orders and got us all served quickly. This location seemed to have a good selection of edible treats that not every Starbucks has. Nice to have a larger offering when it comes to eats...the only thing I wish Starbucks would have would be more GF options. The only thing I've seen on their menu in that regard is the breakfast sandwich...which not every Starbucks location actually has. With so many local coffee houses around Seattle to chose from it's hard to go to a large chain one, but this is a nice location and has very friendly employees. With lots of seating, especially outdoor seating, it's a good little spot to frequent. read more

Oh my god, it's a coffee shop not a music venue! The screeching electric guitar riffs are so out of touch with every customer, only the employees seem to be pleased with the selection. However, this particular location FEELS like a small business and the whole staff that works there is absolutely amazing. August 2017: This store was great! Lauren nailed my drink. Nailed it! The store was very clean and the partners were cool and worked great as a team. Great conversation and knowledge and efficiency. The atmosphere at this store was electric! I am so glad my friend was being hateful and I had to go to the closest store to his house where he graciously had me stay with him while visiting. What a beautiful place Seattle is! As a Hoosier, I find the locals a bit Preoccupied. But it IS a beautiful place. I hope to visit again soon and specifically go to this Starbucks. I was in the area a bit early, so I wandered into Starbucks with my not-nearly-done-enough-for-my-taste copy of Game of Thrones. There were a few people inside hanging out and reading, so the atmosphere was very relaxed, and it was nice having a bit of AC on a hot day. The barista immediately knew what I was ordering (not everyone knows the Captain Crunch Frappaccino), and it came out what seemed mere seconds later! Delicious and fast? Love it! I sat inside for a while, and no one bothered me while I made my attempts to get further into my 800+ page novel. Why does this starbucks have such a low overall rating? The staff here are super friendly and really make an effort to remember frequent customers names. My drinks are always done right and quickly, and the store itself has lots of seating room inside as well as outside. It's always hoppin, no matter what time of the day. This Starbucks is very regularly busy with lines; however, the staff moves the line quickly and efficiently. The staff is friendly and personable- although at times can clearly be a bit rushed because of the volume they do during peak hours. I would recommend using the mobile app to order your drink 2-5 minutes before you plan on picking it up and then you can easily pick it up at the hand off bar and bypass the order line. Overall though a great Starbucks in terms of efficiency and consistent quality. read more

Urgh, there was a register next to the door, that totally confused me, other than that, they gave me my great coffee, and also gave me direction sot the library, which I was trying to find. Being the only Starbucks (and one of the few coffee shops) in the oasis that is Magnolia, this one gets a lot of traffic. Unlike some shops where most people are in-and-out, here most tend to hang for a bit. As someone else mentioned, it's clearly one of the major community hangouts, and everyone is very nice and friendly. The arrangement inside, with a "wing" in back to the right of the counter, makes for a naturally separate area there, and that seems to be where the moms/nannies hang with their tiny charges. Given the relatively undirected enthusiasm of young kids, that tends to be a pretty loud area (the hard floor reflects sound, too!), so don't sit near there if you can't concentrate! I really like that this location has one of the excellent 4-person Starbucks computer tables, nice and solid with a power strip in the center well; unfortunately, it's back in the kiddie area. Think of it as practice in learning how to ignore kids when necessary. On the good side, since it's in the back, there's not much glare from the front windows. If you're not using a computer, those windows are very nice, letting in a lot of light and helping to brighten up those short dark winter days. If it's summer, the tables and chairs out front are a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Bevs and snacks are pretty much Sbux standard and the staff seems nice enough. read more

Overall well-executed business model but this place is so LOUD...and the seats are uncomfortable but maybe that's to keep you from staying too long...not an unusual business strategy for convenience spots. When you are sitting in there for a good while, working on your computer, the environment matters. It's not the patrons that are loud, the noise behind the counter is off-putting but this is the same at every Sbucks. I prefer the Uptown Espresso diagonally located from this Sbucks across the intersection. Easy parking! read more

I come to this location every day as I work nearby and I have never been disappointed in the coffee/lattes made here. Even when they are slammed with orders and huge lines are formed, this team is professional and provides outstanding customer service. I wanted to try the very heavily advertised Unicorn drink. I tried over 7 Starbucks in the Seattle area. All were out of the ingredients (much like they are always out of the salt for the salted caramel hot chocolate. Why they don't just say caramel hot chocolate is anyone's guess). Why would Starbucks advertise so heavily then "run out" of ingredients?! Because sales are down and they assume that if they "run out" of ingredients, customers will buy something anyway. Pretty crappy if you ask me. Anyway, this Starbucks had the drink. It was delicious but if you are as tired of these marketing gimmicks as I am, I suggest the nice coffee shop on the other side of the street. read more

Can't say enough nice things about this Starbucks location. It's a big place with a lot of seating, people are absolutely wonderful. But my absolute favorite feature is the kids play area. It's the most stress free Starbucks I have ever been to, I actually like to sit down and spend time here as opposed to picking my coffee up and running out the door. My favorite Starbucks store in Seattle. There is always a friendly hello....Sarah, Tim, Sam and Sara and their co-workers always put a smile on my face. Lots of nice regulars. With the amount of traffic coming through this store, I can't complain about the cleanliness ~ quite a few young children and parents not paying attention to what their kids are doing. I've seen many a Starbucks employee intercepting a child headed behind the bar. As with any business you have your high maintenance customers.
