Great to have a close Starbucks near me while traveling. This location is right next to a Subway, can get coffee and a sub, ha ha. The staff here was very nice, used the app of course to order in advance so I don't have to wait and I get points. This is your basic Starbucks location. It was the first SBUX in this small town and it has seen better days. The location in a shopping center is ideal other than the confusing drive-thru entrance situation. Although clearly marked with signage, folks don't seem to get what No Left Turn sign means. Expect to spend some time here if you are using the drive-thru as the line can be pretty epic. I highly recommend using the SBUX app and picking up. The staff is always friendly, but the drinks are inconsistent. The inside could use a remodel. I'll go along with the average and give this one a 2. read more

This is the worst of what Starbucks has to offer. It's about as clean as a rest stop on hi way 99. At least at the rest stops they empty the trash and you can get a drink in less than 20 minutes. There was cups sitting next to trash can and trash on the floor thought the location. While we were waiting for our drinks we sat at a table we were going to relax after several hours of shopping across the street. Standing in line we could hear they were out of several things sounded like whoever does the ordering should be fired. After about 20 minutes out Frap and Ice Green tea were ready. My wife's drink wasn't complete. She ordered a Carmel Ribbon and when she got her drink it didn't have any of the topping. After we ordered paid and are now getting our drink they decide to say oh yeah we're out. The employees don't seem to give a crap about anything. I've never seen a crew so miserable at a Starbucks. I will never return to this dump and I hope this isn't a sign that Starbucks no longer cares about quality or the atmosphere they are known for. read more

Some of the barista's are just very entitled and careless. I ordered a hot chestnut praline latte and my cup was hardly halfway full, there was also no whip nor praline topping. I work at a coffee shop myself, so I understand that rush hours can be extremely stressful - but that is no excuse to be negligent. I also know (being a barista myself) that no customer wants to hear that the problem is their fault, and that is what I experienced the one time I've ever questioned an order. It is only a handful of barista's I've noticed have a pattern of making me or whoever I'm with feel like a burden for coming in. The rest of them are perfectly kind. SLOWEST STARBUCKS OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. Do yourself a favor and go to the next town. This is like being in prison in the drive thru. Like Hotel California. You can check out but you can never leave! We were in the drive thru for 30 min and had not even made it to the ordering screen. And there were not that many cars in front of us. But we could not back up - cars piling up behind us!! Ordering screen is all busted up (see photo) Then when we finally got to the window they handed us the wrong drinks (likely due to their busted up screen). No straws (so my caramel was never going to make it to the surface - I know, first world problems) but when you wait FOR-E-VER for your overpriced coffee - you expect a little more. Wow, this is a really pathetic Starbucks. The Starbucks confusion here is absurd. Rude and very hostile somehow... I ordered an espresso frap. Easy right, not here.... The guy that was taking my order kept asking me how many extra shots I wanted. I explained I just wanted the normal amount. He said ok he would add 3 shots...WTF???!!! I did not ask for that.... I asked him if he did not understand my order. He rose his voice and said he understood.. Really? then why did you ask how many shots??? Are you confused somehow?? I pulled up to the window and the lady there brought out a small, almost hot, frap, from so many shots added to it. All the ice was almost melted... I asked her what this was and she rudely said "the drink You ordered" ... Wait a minute. I ordered a plain espresso frap and this is not an espresso frap, plus they wanted to charge me for 3 additional shots. WTF???!!! Really??? Get your orders right first! The customers order was not what you made so its not the customers fault... They need to read the Starbucks guarantee.. If its not right they will fix it right away... This did not happen at this Starbucks... I asked her to remake my drink or refund my money. She said she would remake it. I finally got a somewhat of a drink near what I ordered. What is left to be said about the grand poobah of all coffee chains? I'm writing this review from one of just 27 Tulare locations on the day after Thanksgiving, where I've found temporary respite from leftovers and overly-inquisitive extended family members. Despite a busy and continuous holiday crowd, this location gets big props for maintaining a tidy and clean interior. I'm sitting near the door where the draft is unavoidable, but every other corner seems warm and cozy. My personal warmth is sustained with sips from an exceptionally frothy chai tea. Best of all, despite some viscous criticism from a testy group of Black Friday shoppers who were up since 3 a.m., the staff here is attentive, speedy and cheerful. It will be hard for me to ever say "Hey, you should check out this great Starbucks I visited," but I will go the extra mile to visit this location should I ever find myself here in the future. The efficiency and speed with which the employees here work helps me understand why Starbucks has been able to maintain such incredible popularity. read more

Updating review of this location in Tulare. (This location is in the 99 cent store / Smart and Final Plaza) It is a small backwards "L" shaped coffee spot that is cozy and friendly. We have been here a couple times in the last week. Both times Fernando was a nice barista especially the first time. He is good partner for customer service. All employees were working away stocking, helping, making drinks and cleaning. Only negative were the bathrooms were pretty dirty but it could be a lot of traffic came through. The drinks were made at average speed but those drinks were made correctly. There is a drive thru as well as eight tables inside as well as a couple outside tables. This particular Starbucks wasn't listed on Yelp so yay! I get to add a listing. Another first for me and also the first stop on my way to visit my Mom for her 50th birthday which is tomorrow. A cop had given me a scare earlier when he flashed his lights at me. I noticed I was doing several illegal things - texting while driving and going 100 mph. Oops. I know both are wrong and I really don't need another ticket this year and I really thought I was stuck so I started pulling over but I guess he changed his mind. I was seriously concerned so I lowered my speed and pulled over to take a break and lo and behold found this Starbucks. It's not conveniently located off the freeway but if you head off the Prosperity/Hillman exit, you'll see it shortly in the 99 Cent shopping center. It shares the same building as Subway which is interesting and also has a drive-thru and a patio. The bathroom was well-stocked and there was a long line for the drive-thru and inside as well. I didn't know there could be such a line for a Starbucks in such a remote area but I guess coffee lovers exist everywhere. read more

I never leave reviews but last night when we pulled in through the drive-through 15 minutes prior to close I was very upset at the fact that we were not helped due to them saying there were no cars in the drive-through prior to closing we waited 15 minutes in line for the cars in front of us to order and when I got to our turn they said sorry but we are closed. When we continued to say we had been in line waiting since before closing they denied a service explaining that they had been slow and no one had pulled into the drive-through until after 11 o'clock when that it's not the case. the man at the speaker continue to say sorry but we're closed try again tomorrow. Omg, what a horrible experience! Waited for 19 mins in a drive through! It was so slow and inefficient! There were 6 cars and each took eternity to serve. Whoever is on the shift-was slow as molasses! To top off a great experience the guy in the window refused to take a couple of empty STARBUCKS cups and sent us out to the nearest trash can across the street. Talk about a bad experience. I pull into the drive thru and the line is lengthy. That's no problem we could wait but the screen to order was shattered and had what appeared to look like a bullet hole. We said hello many times with no response and figured it was broken. We pull forward and then get a response. She tells us to go in reverse even though there is a car behind us. We finally get to the window and ALE (the employee) greeted us with I told you to reserve you had space how many drinks did you have?
