So I have been here like 3 times because if you have one bad experience, it can't all be bad, right? Wrong. The worst of it all is that drive through smells so bad that I almost puked. There must be a sewer right there. I had to constantly spray perfume for the 10 minutes that I sat in my car, otherwise I would have puked all over the drive through, and there was no way to exit once you enter. How can you have a food establishment, especially a drive through next to something so putrid? That has to be a violation of some sort. During that experience, my coffee was also incorrect. I had ordered a VBF with 2 shots, because I'm pretty sure you can't order the cafe VBF in the app anymore. There was no coffee in it. I went back (in store), my very simple drink with extra caramel was wrong somehow. Every other location can do it but this one can't? They also didn't have utensils or straws out for customers. Coffee here is standard Starbucks quality. Perfectly fine, if that's what you want. But they need to get managerial priorities straight. Service today was substandard. Normally, folks here are friendly and responsive. Today, at least three non-drive thru customers could not get waited on in a timely fashion, and left one at a time without even placing an order. Multiple drive-thru customers ordered while walk-in customers waited. All left in frustration without making a purchase. read more

Ahhh Starbucks! Can't really go wrong with them in my opinion. Although the lines are usually really long they normally go by fairly quickly and the Starbucks in Vestavia Hills on Montgomery Highway was no exception! Also service was nice! The area was really nice! I was up pretty early to grab some things and decided to grab a cup of hot coffee along the way and I was not disappointed with my cup of Pistachio Latte! I went through the drive thru wanting to try something new so I asked for the baristas choice. I was asked if I have any allergies and if I preferred hot or iced. I have no allergies and left the rest up to them. When I pulled up, a female barista told me she made me her holiday favorite which is an iced sugar cookie almond blonde. The name of the drink excited me but once I took my first sip I was jumping for joy. I would have never ordered this drink and I was upset with myself for only ordering a grande. The drink had a subtle sweetness to it and the sugar cookie flavor was perfect. It was fun letting the barista choose my drink and I'm looking forward to doing it again. read more

Very pleasant little location! I was craving the Dragon Fruit drink "Dragon Drink" and was very pleased at how friendly and kind the staff were. It was late in the evening and they were happy to serve me regardless of the time. There was no line at this time and they had my drink out to me in less than 2 minutes. I also genuinely like this area-- the drive through is a tad bit awkward, but the area makes up for it. I look forward to going back for my Dragon Drink, and look forward to the same service I received. read more

If you have read any of my previous reviews that could include anything even remotely related to coffee, you probably know ..... I DON'T DO COFFEE! Ever! It's horrible! Quite simply one of the top 3 worst things ever. So, why would I go into a coffee joint? Well, really only two reasons. 1) and probably most important, my wife likes coffee .... therefore we go to coffee places for her :) .... 2) they do serve other things, such as teas and steamers (milk with flavoring). This location was very clean, had plenty of employees working and following COVID protocols and were very efficient. They also made a really good steamer. If you've never tried, you need to get a blackberry, vanilla steamer .... as far as hot drinks go, it's about as good as they come. All in all a really good location. I've been to several different Starbuckses lately, and that has really allowed me to compare them to each other in terms of their items, customer service, and my overall experience with each location. This location was rather lacking to me. I placed a mobile order on my phone, This location has you wait outside opposed to coming inside to wait like other locations, just be warned you will be waiting in the 90 degree Alabama heat. If I'm doing that, it would have been nice if they had my order ready as opposed to not being able to find it and a worker having to just ask me again for my order to bring it out to me. I got their "birthday cake" cake pop. It was actually pretty delicious! I haven't liked most cake pops I've had. They usually seem dry to me, but this one made me want to try more of their cake pops. It was the right amount of sweet, and tasted like I was eating a candy truffle. read more

I know there's a million different Starbucks I can go to yet I choose this one for the convenience and the drive thru, but today was the last time. There's this one employee with ringlets and wears a beanie who's there often, has served me plenty of times and just sounds like she couldn't be bothered with people and sounds like this job causes her serious agony. Literally no 'hi', 'bye' or 'thank you' when she's on the microphone through the drive thru or collecting payment at the window and just sounds like she's trying to get you in and out in 2 seconds flat. 100% lack of customer service skills. But the most notable incident was around Christmas when I went to order 20 $5 gift certificates and when I went up to the cash register she just pointed at the person behind me to help them first without communicating anything to me. I get the situation but use your words. Seriously. And further more, upon ringing in the gift cards, she messed up half way and had me select 10 more to ring up with a frustrated attitude, used the receipt to cross check the ones she rang up, scratched off each one in pen, and then ripped it in half to make it easier since there were a lot, not only did it take 10 minutes but proceeded to hand me the gift cards with the scratched off m, ripped up receipt. Are you kidding me? I had to ask for a new receipt and furthermore she claimed that they were 5 envelopes short to which I was already irritated and asked her to look in the back for more. She scrambled around the registered and then claimed there were none. It's the holidays and you're selling gift cards left and right and you're telling me you don't have any in the back and won't take 10 seconds to look? Especially after I just spent $100 here? I was going to let that one go because the holidays get crazy for those in customer service but after today's drive thru experience I'm literally never returning because of her attitude. Uuggghhhhhhh!!! I HATE whip cream and I ALWAYS say no whip but obviously it never matters because they ALWAYS put it on there anyways. It was rung up right but still made wrong. I always order on my app to speed up the service but I ended up going on the inside because she messed the drink up. Just meh. I went in around 8:15am, ordered a Grande Iced Americano. The gentleman that took my order was very nice & I was greeted right when I walked in. He did charge me for a Venti, but I didn't realize till I got my drink. So I guess it was sort of my fault for not catching it at the register. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere, lots of seating available and very clean. Overrall it was just a cup of coffee and served its purpose. read more

One of my favorite Starbucks... consistently exceeding my expectations like this this morning... I went through the drive thru - only to be greeted by the most pleasant and sweet lady at the window. Yes, I've been greeted by friendly folks that give a required smile or nod of the head but the authentic kindness that is dished out with the lattes are rare these days... pay them a visit - you might be pleasantly surprise how much better your coffee is when it's served with some kindness. read more

I'm a 20 year Starbucks hot coffee drinker, but I think I'm done with Starbucks, for the most part. I've visited Starbucks near daily, and I've been to their stores all across America and all over the world, so I know what I'm talking about. Starbucks seems to now have ongoing quality control issues - I'm tired of the leaking cups/lids, lukewarm "hot" coffee, long waits, and high prices (though I will say their employees are very nice). During their off and on shutdowns during the Covid situation I discovered Dunkin. Dunkins' coffee is always good, always hot, and their cups/lids are solid. And they're cheaper! I'm sorry, Starbucks, but Dunkin is now doing better at what YOU are supposed to be doing best! read more

When I pulled around the nice worker said "did you have the venti iced caramel latte" and I said "no" and he said "mobile order?" and I said "yes" and he said "Rick?" and I said "no that's someone else." I've stopped by this Starbucks location a couple times after I hit the gym. It's obviously convenient and even though you can't really tell, they do have a drive-thru! I tend to stop by right when they open in the morning which is around 6AM and even though it's hella early and I'm one of their first customers, they're always super nice and courteous. They are a bit slow, but can you blame them? It's 6AM on a weekday. While you're there, don't forget to use your Starbucks app to pay! Generally, Starbucks is a good company, however every once in awhile you will come across some awful employees. Sunday, November 25, 2018 was one of them. I am an African American senior woman, I go into a Starbucks in Vestavia, Alabama near the AMC movie theater. All the employees were white and so were all the customers. I stand in line to order a tall coffee with a shot of expresso and a croissant. I give the cashier cash and place one dollar in the tip container, she did not give me a receipt. she ask my name and I waited for my order. After a longer than usual wait and I also observer customers who were standing behind me in the line sitting down with their orders. I asked about my order, no order, What happened? So the cashier told me another person took my order, but it was her. She ask if I wanted to order again, I ask for my money and my tip and went to another coffee shop that had black and white cashier- a more pleasant experience. These creeps are giving a good company a bad name. I will not buy at Starbucks again. read more

This starbucks is so friendly. My BF loves dark roast coffee and after 11ish they stop brewing it. They are suppose to offer you a poor over. Most starbucks don't and are usually pretty shitty about it when he asks them to do it (whatever happen to "just say yes") But not this one. A very kind young lady named Stephanie offered a poor over right away with a huge smile on her face! She made him such a yummy cup of joe. For the love of all that is good and yummy, please teach your staff how to make oatmeal. It's really not that hard. All you have to do is add water. Preferably hot water not barely lukewarm water. Also oatmeal is best enjoyed in a thicker consistency. Not watery and soupy. If I'm not mistaken, doesn't your oatmeal bowl have a little line so you know how much water to add? It's disappointing that every morning on my way to work I order it and have to pour half of the water out my car window and then try to enjoy cold oatmeal. Just not worth it. We were only 2 customers in line and it still took about 10 mins to get drinks, despite there being 3 employees. Kathleen (one of baristas or shifts or whatever) is probably the rudest person I have ever met. If she's at the counter when you go in, literally turn around and drive down the road to their other location. One of our drinks was only half-full when we got it, so disappointing. read more
