I happened to stop at this Starbucks while we were doing some shopping in the Belmont Plaza shopping center. This store sits by itself in the plaza, not attached to any of the other businesses, so it makes it a bit easy to find parking and to maneuver around since it is a stand-alone building. I placed an order via their APP where you pay online and pick up at the store, the process itself was very easy. During the weekends, this particular store can get very busy, so patience is key here. Starbuck's story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle's historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for customers to take home. The name was inspired by the classic tale, "Moby-Dick," evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. I frequent this Starbucks often. There is no feature to order a pup cup through the mobile app. Most of the employees are very pleasant and provide the pup cup with a smile. However, the manager Gretchen consistently gives an attitude and forces people to go and wait in line rather than quickly just providing the pup cup. I try to avoid having to interact with Gretchen but unfortunately today that wasn't possible. Given the amount of money I spend at this particular Starbucks as I am a local this customer service experience is unacceptable. read more

I'm not a big Starbucks fan (I make my own coffee at home and bring it to work, if that tells you anything), but lately, Mrs. C has been on a Starbucks kick, particularly, cold-brewed coffee with salted caramel and cold foam. She's been trying to replicate it at home, but can't duplicate the foam. That's what she ordered here Sunday afternoon, and I have to say, it was good, (and I'm someone who usually detests cold coffee). Since we had been riding a motorcycle and it was 90 degrees, I just wanted a lemonade. Although I didn't see it on the menu, the staff was accommodating and made me a glass. I could see it was from a powered mix, but it was still pretty good for what it was. So, the quality of the drinks was good, and service was appropriately fast and polite. Plus, they have two bathrooms. So why only three stars, then? Although the drinks are pricey here, I didn't factor that into my rating (hey, it's Starbucks - you have to expect that). Basically, I just didn't find it an inviting or comfortable place to hang out, which I would expect if I'm going to pay a premium for beverages. First, it's located in a large plaza, and the building itself is tall and imposing, like a monolith. While they do have a few outdoor tables in front, they have zero ambiance (unless you enjoy looking at parked vehicles). Plus, the afternoon sun beat down on me. Inside, the layout is odd and felt confining; most of the seating is on the other side of a floor-to-ceiling dividing wall, behind the service counter. Plus, there were several merchandise displays in front of the counter, for things like $24 travel mugs, so I felt like I was constantly being marketed to (well, I was, but it was almost literally in my face). Lastly, the music sucked, like it was trying too hard to achieve a hipster vibe. It was really odd and disturbing to hear a classic Talking Heads song done as an artsy-fartsy remix. read more

I'm not quite sure why this Starbucks has such negative reviews and the reactions I just witnessed from a customer shows me why. Some of you need to learn a little more respect and patience in life or put yourself in their shoes for once. I have been going to this Starbucks since I was in high school over 12 years ago and I have never had a bad enough experience worth leaving a bad review over. Sure sometimes you have to wait a little bit longer than normal to get a drink. THIS IS THE ONLY STARBUCKS IN THE ENTIRE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE STATE so deal with it and show the employees, most of which are high school and college kids, a little respect. And to the little brat who said he's worked in a Starbucks before so he knows what lite ice means, your attitude says otherwise. Had a very similar experience to others who recently posted reviews. My daughter, she 18, and I went inside and we were ordering separately, but were standing together and the same girl/manager screamed at us to social distance even after we told her we were family, but needed to place separate orders/paying separately. Later on as I waited for my order she yelled at the young man be hind me to "Please social distance! And step back." She was absolutely rude and marched around the store like she was so more important then her coworkers and the customers. I will NOT be stepping back in that store ever again. We all get the importance of social distancing, but this girl is such a Karen. The other employees seemed either of the same mindset or just miserable working there. I've been waiting for a coffee I mobile ordered over 45 minutes ago. The manager is rude, yelling at her staff to do pointless tasks while she stands there and organizes the straws that did not need to be organized. I have had many bad experiences at this Starbucks but today was the worst, a line of over 30 people who all waited over 30 minutes and were yelled at if they asked for a refund because they had to get to class without coffee after waiting so long. I will say though the workers were all trying their best, were so nice and continuously apologized for the wait. Definitely a case of bad management. read more

I've been here a few times. Isolated at the wrong end of the Belmont Plaza, the building is constructed strangely. When you enter you face the front counter immediately and there are islands of merchandise to the right. After you order your drink and/or food you can find a place to sit behind the wall of the front counter. There is a huge window that offers a wonder view... ... of the traffic intersection? How lovely. The coffee is purposefully burnt at Starbuck's. That's how they prepare their beans so you can't blame the clerks. Over priced and overrated Starbuck's "graced" Wakefield even though there are almost as many coffee shops as their are package stores. This one is for the Yuppie who needs his brand name. Another tip: don't leave out of the exit to the left of the parking lot unless you want to go to Route 1 you can't cross the median, it's made of concrete. read more

I have always had good experiences here. Today the girl seemed to be pretty busy making all the drinks by herself. I felt bad for reminding her my drink was light ice as she was jamming the ice in. But she quickly removed some of the ice and I was good to go. I honestly cannot believe the unprofessional service I received at this location. I went there today to order my daughters drink which we have ordered at I can't tell you how many Starbucks across the country as we do a lot of traveling. Not only did they tell me I didn't know what I was ordering but they basically said that they don't break the rules? Whatever happened to the customer is always right? They said the drink would break their machine?? I noticed I'm not the only one who had issues at this location. They better change their attitude before they have to close their doors. Another iteration of the ubiquitous chain. Is it better or worse than any of the others that I've been to? Not at all. As others have stated, the layout is bizarre, but I've never stayed, always taking my drinks to go. That being said, I would be hard-pressed to suggest this as a place to meet someone for a cup of coffee because of the layout. There are a few other places in the area that have better options for coffee with seating. But again, it's a Starbucks, and every time I've been there the staff has gotten my drink correct (which should not have to be noted, but don't get me started). Maybe because I'm not a regular yet, and not on a first name basis with the staff, but I haven't noticed that the staff is particularly friendly. Not saying they're rude, but just rather business-like. I'm not looking to be bff's with these people, though, so it's not a truly big deal to me. read more

I have never had a bad experience with Starbucks until I came to this location. Horrible experience EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I honestly have no idea how the employees got hired there. They have no common decency for the customers and have no idea how to say anything without being rude. One specific employee is extremely rude when it comes to covid regulations. She does not enforce in a nice way. The other day when I went in I waited in line for almost 20 minutes with only 4 people in front of me. I went in to get a coffee. There is one customer waiting to receive his coffee order and nobody else in line. I walk up to the cash register and after 2 minutes someone says "we'll be with you in a minute" without even looking in my direction. Right as she was done saying that she laughs. I wait 2 more minutes...there were no customers and 4 employees and nobody could look me in the eye and say what would you like? I walked out. Both myself and the party behind me came in and were told to social distance from our friends in a very unfriendly way. Good staff and workers. Of course, always the good Starbucks coffee. Actually, a very convenient location. However, they close way too early. Went there on a Saturday once and there were closed by 8pm. It was kind of weird. Also, it is very crammed inside. There isn't really any good seating at all (for the lack of seating anyway). It's probably not the best place to work on stuff either. Really loud, between the workers yelling and coffee-making. I had the most terrible experience at this Starbucks. Abby (employee) was extremely disrespectful, rude & aggressive to my children, their friends & myself. She was eye rolling when ask for a tray, stared & screamed at me while I waited in line for a drink that was missed during the initial order. Before I came in the store she yelled at my daughter & friends for touching a drink put in their tray by her that wasn't theirs. She accused them of drinking it & then aggressively threw it out. She said I am now & I thanked her for that. Then she yelled at me, "I'm not apologizing to you, I'm apologizing to her! (Referring to my daughter's friend). I'm only really a fan of this starbucks because it's so close, and as a few other people pointed out the Baristas are generally very friendly here. There is one young man who works here though, who doesn't pay attention when you order, and doesn't seem to like to mark cups properly. Also, I don't think the baristas have been trained/care to keep an eye on how long espresso is sitting in a cup-- The longer the espresso sits in a cup, the more bitter it becomes. Not everyone knows this though, but it was at one time trained to all baristas. Other than that, the store seems to be slightly poorly managed, and I'll say that because of how long it takes to get your drink sometimes. If someone came in and taught the baristas how to be more efficient, then this starbucks would make me very happy. read more
