The entrance is handicap accessible and leads right to the order counter as well as an order station by the window if you so choose! Pastry window with available items at 1040 am when I came. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is my favorite location in Newport as there are others. It's just super spacious, rustic inside, the best for getting work done. Theres free wifi and available phone charging stations along the desks in the back. Little kids area in the back with a toy play area. Good folk tunes on the aux and quiet enough to get work done or meet with friends. Their food items are also phenomenal but today I got the dirty chai. read more

Just ok. Coffee tasted a bit burnt. Lattes were not super flavorful but still did the trick. The food is not worth getting, honestly. Bagel was stale. But it is conveniently located to run in for a quick coffee to go. I ordered ahead, and it was ready on time. read more

I've never had such an amazing iced matcha like this one before, I was truly in love and yearn for this matcha everyday now. The ambience of the cafe was wonderful. We went here twice this week! It's a pretty big space, so you could sit there with a laptop and get work done. There's also a printer towards the back. They have boba drinks which was interesting. My family really liked their coffees. I ordered an iced Red Velvet latte the first time, which was terribly sweet and I couldn't finish it. The second time, I ordered a hot chai tea latte with oat milk and it was good! I thought this was the only location, but there's another one on Bellevue Ave as well. read more

Wow! I spend an embarrassing amount of time and money here, so I guess an update is in order! As we've expounded here before, Empire Tea and Coffee is a rad little cafe nestled right in the heart of Broadway, Newport's answer to NYC's Greenwich Village. Since I last regaled you with the wonderments of this fantastic place, many things have changed! First of all, I discovered that I LOVE NITRO COLD BREW! Zomg. I am even more of a trash millennial than I was before! And I say that with complete pride, because Empire's nitro is amazing. Tasty and smooth with hints of deep cocoa flavor (all the beans are roasted in-house), no day is complete without a tall glass of caffeinated goodness. It's also reasonably priced, so your wallet will be happy, too! They've also majorly updated their food offerings to included locally made baked goods delivered fresh daily! A new partnership with Knead Donuts, based out of Providence, is particularly winsome, and features sizable and filling crullers in classic and unique flavors. You can't go wrong with a simple vanilla glazed donut, where the fresh vanilla bean shines through, and if you're in the mood for something fun and Instagram friendly, the strawberry shortcake donut is a wacky nod to my favorite childhood ice cream treat! PS: All donuts are half price after 2 PM. You're welcome for that tidbit of info! :) They also have partnered with Providence Bagels to supply even more doughy goodness. The offerings range from the ever-popular "Everything" bagel, to weirder creations like the "Cookie Monster", which is colored blue and stuffed with Oreo pieces. Service is routinely excellent, with attentive, fun, and personable baristas serving up the extensive menu of drinks and grub. There's literally no better place in the world than the outdoor tables, where you get a front row seat to the colorful characters that make Broadway what it is. I have to give Empire kudos for a few things: - Nailing the temperature for a hot cup of tea. Places usually have the water scalding (which always results in a burnt tongue/roof of the mouth) or lukewarm. This was the perfect temperature for sipping while walking around. - Providing a ton of customizable options for each drink in terms of sugar, milk, and other add-ins. We came here twice in one weekend and I loved both of the tea drinks I ordered, with lots of honey and lemon. - If you want to save time, you should order ahead. They have a nifty pickup system where they'll put out drink orders on one of the three alphabet ranges that your last name falls under. There's also someone taking orders by the take-out window. - Tried a bite of the chocolate chip donut. Husband said it was one of the best donuts he's ever had. They have a tray of pastries right by the take-out window - the blueberry and banana nut loaf both looked pretty appealing. read more

We've been here several times and it's been consistently good since our first try! Their lattes and cold brew are fresh and flavorful. The housemate cardamom syrup is divine and we love their hot grab and go sausage/egg breakfast sandwiches. The English muffin that they use for the sandwiches is steamed fluffy and has a good "chew" to it. I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our morning coffee. Empire Coffee and Tea is located on Broadway and we parked in front with no problem. I had actually noticed it during the Broad St Fair the previous Saturday and so whenever my wife suggested it, I was game. The inside of the place is large and open and has some soft music playing in the background. It's floors are all hardwood and there are different types of wood throughout along with a lot of black and grey colors. The seating consists of a mixture of regular tables, a few benches and then some high tops overlooking Broadway. Finally on one wall they have some art for sale. For coffee on this day I decided to go with a medium honey latte while my wife went with a small americano. My coffee ended up being good as you could tell that the milk and coffee was there and then the honey gave it a touch of sweetness. It wasn't enough to overpower anything but you could definitely tell it was there. The bottom line for me is that I would come back here again in the future. Empire tea has two locations, one off Broadway and another further up on Bellevue. Broadway is always a nightmare for parking, but Bellevue has a lot more options for parking. Try their vanilla iced latte, with tapioca boba mixed in and add an extra Splenda on the side for a summer day pick me up. You will not be disappointed! read more

Empire is a staple of NPT coffee shops. The drink options are consistent. It is usually a bit busy. They have lots of places to sit. They have reduced their tea latte menu recently which I wish they would bring back! I loved the non-caf options like the nutcracker latte...Check it out! read more

Bubble Tea with Popping Bubbles - stopped into Empire tea this week and was excited to see Thai Tea on the menu with an option for popping bubbles.
