Literally THE slowest Starbucks I have ever been to. Got off the interstate to "grab a quick coffee" for the rest of our drive. Ordered two iced coffees. Waiting for quite a while to even place our order should have been first clue. Seriously...the line is out of the driveway! We received one coffee and have been sitting for over 15 minutes!!!! We still don't have the second one yet. There was ONE car in front of us. The barista has shut the window and is just inside, putting together food orders. He's completely ignoring us - and the 20 people behind us! Seriously - no one has even opened the window to apologize for the delay. Ridiculous. So you can see I'm telling the truth. Drinks were great! Ordered 2 venti chai and from ordering to pulling away was out in under 5 minutes. Service was super friendly and attentive. It did appear to be closed, but had a note on the door that drive thru was open. read more

We have family in the area so I've been through Waterville a lot in the last fifteen years or so. On that timeline this Starbucks is relatively recent, but it's been there now a few years. This area being what it is, I don't expect there to be a lot of generosity on the part of the locals and tourists who pass through, but even with that in mind this store is underrated. I'm not a big Starbucks guy but you know what you're getting and there just aren't a ton of choices in the area (though that's slowly changing) So I went there last month for about two weeks visiting every day for some kind of breakfast sandwich and coffee. It never failed to be clean, expedient (even when crowded), and the service was always friendly and prompt. The bathrooms are just fine and someone is clearly tending to them throughout the day. The only ding is that sometimes they run out of things (not atypical) and I just don't love music piped through every speaker, but for that I'll have to take it up with the whole company... Anyway, their rating is undeserved unless they suddenly became really good and consistent for the two weeks I was there. read more

I watched 6 employees standing around while roughly 20 people inside waited for 1 item. They are constantly out of everything, including creamers of any kind! Do not go here unless you want to waste 30 minutes of your day, watching the workers make a drink slower then a sloth would. Came here after a softball tournament expecting a nice treat, and it took 40 minutes to get my order after it was placed. There was at least 7 workers, and they still couldn't get drinks out in a timely manner. This was unacceptable. However the drinks tasted fine. I'm torn about this review. I love my Starbucks, I drive 20 miles to get here. My order varies but it's never anything out of the ordinary because I'm not a fastidious person. In other words, it's what's offered in the app although I will of course change the size of my drink and once in a blue moon, request light ice. That's as "complicated" as it gets. I make it a point to tip and I'm always courteous to the staff. The staff are always very nice here...now that I think about it I have never encountered a rude Starbucks employee in any state/location. My issue, and I don't even know if it's the store that's to blame, or if it's an app problem. However, on several occasions, I will order something just to get to the store and find out it's sold out. I don't want your crappy $4 refund card that I never use anyway (that's why I have an app), I want breakfast. Why else would I drive 20 miles to get here? It's maddening. Stopped in and ordered three simple drinks and they took about 30 minutes to be made. They made 15 mobile orders that just piled up which there were 15 people inside waiting on drinks. This is a really bad Starbucks. There is about a 1 out of 10 chance they will follow the Starbucks recipe. If your drink doesn't taste right don't try to return it. It may be Starbucks policy to fix drinks but they don't like to fix them at this location. They can be very rude. read more

Plan on at least a 30 minute wait for a mobile order. This is not the first time this has happened. The app said it was a 6-9 minute estimate on pickup time. The app should reflect the correct time depending on the number of orders pending ahead of you (30 minutes). The staff that was there was doing the best they could but Starbucks needs to staff more people for this location. Moved from California and now living in the New England: this means Starbucks has much more valuable. Especially outside of the MA. When needing coffee in the middle of nowhere on the way to/back from hiking in NH/ME, and still want good quality, Starbucks is the first choice. This Starbucks location is pretty valuable to me. Since moving to Mass, I have now made a total of three hardcore weekend drives to Baxter and/or Acadia in search of nice hikes. I don't think I would have survived these drives if there was not a starbucks here at about the mid point and I had to rely on Dunkin Donuts. I stopped here on my way north on I-95, heading to conduct a Medicare seminar. It was raining and I was desperate for caffiene. I remembered this Starbucks just off the interstate exit on one of Waterville's nondescript boulevards choked with strip malls and everything wrong with this kind of 1980s and 1990s development (actually, this kind of sprawl development dates back further than that). This shop is tucked-in near an array of big box stores, a phone store, and probably a smoke shop (or a tanning salon). Not much to commend it among the surroundings. What I know about Starbucks however, from traveling, is that no matter where you go, you're going to get a bold, brewed cup of coffee. Being plant-based, I really like that they have non-dairy options, like soy or almond milk, too. Why doesn't Dunkin' Donuts (or McDonald's) get on-board with the vegan revolution? That's why I never go there any longer for coffee. Well, I'm really not a fan of their coffees, but that's another review for another day. This particular location was clean and the staff upbeat and friendly. In today's workforce market that's not a given, no matter where you happen to be. I went to this Starbucks on a stop from a road trip. The staff members were very kind and welcoming. My fiancé and I decided to try something that we've never ordered before. We picked up our drinks, and we both tried the new drink. Neither of us really liked it. He asked if we could get a refund or a different drink because it was not what we were expecting, and they were so understanding. One of the workers said they would rather he leave with something we like than nothing and another worker asked if my fiancé wanted to try the drink before he left to make sure it's what we wanted. For as many times as I have stopped by this specific Starbucks & given them my patronage, I have yet to experience even the slightest form of friendliness from the staff behind the counter. I'm not sure if it's the suit or the something else but the experience is lousy. I always try to tip & always try to ask the staff how their days are going. I don't write bad reviews, but after being treated lousy for so many visits it's now prompted me to inform other potential Starbucks fans beware of the negative treatment you could receive here. It is absolutely specific to this location as from York, Portland, Freeport, Brunswick, Topsham and South Portland I have always experienced friendly baristas. Not sure why Waterville is so miserable. Think I'm gonna cross Waterville off my list of favorite Starbucks stores in Maine. read more

This place was disgusting. Two overflowing garbage cans outside the front door, trash on the floor inside, and NO type of milk product to add to your coffee on the cafe bar. When I asked for half and half one of the servers left a half empty container at the pick up area for me to retrieve and bring over myself, no insulated containers.
