Let me start by saying: I was having an amazing day. Great finds at HomeSense and HomeGoods, mood was high, vibes were right. So, I figured why not top it off with a pistachio latte? I ordered my drink at 11:51 a.m. The store was pretty quiet, no drive-thru, and a few people came in after me. I watched two customers who ordered after me, one a mocha latte, another a vanilla bean Frappuccino, get their drinks before mine. So, I walked over and politely asked the barista standing there, "Excuse me, what's the status of the pistachio?" He responds: "What do you mean?" I explain: "How much longer for the pistachio? People who came in after me already got their drinks." He looks annoyed, like I just asked for his first-born, and says, "What's the name?" I give my name and he's literally holding my cup and making my pistachio latte at that moment. Then he goes back to acting confused about what I meant, even though he was clearly working on my drink. I said, "So you knew exactly what I meant... since you're making the pistachio latte, right?" No response. He just starts aggressively slamming things into the cup, pushes it across the counter without a word, doesn't look at me, doesn't say anything. I still said, "Thank you." He walked away with a serious attitude. At that point, yeah, I was annoyed. I did call him a "dumb a**," and I'll own that it wasn't necessary. But the way my drink was slammed on the counter with zero professionalism or acknowledgment was rude and totally avoidable. All he had to say was something like: "I'm working on your drink now." That's it. Situation over. I called the store to speak to the manager because I actually wanted to apologize for the name-calling and explain what happened. I ended up speaking to Jimmy, the shift manager. I explained everything and admitted I shouldn't have used that word. His response? "Well, I wasn't here for all that I just came on at 12." Then basically: "What do you want me to do about it?" Well, Jimmy... you're the manager. I would expect you to at least acknowledge the situation, address the customer service issue, and maybe say something like, "I'm sorry that happened. I'll speak to my team." Instead, it felt dismissive, like both the original interaction and the follow-up didn't matter. I love Starbucks, and most of the time the service is great. But this experience in Westwood really missed the mark. Respect and basic communication go a long way and today, both were lacking. read more

I ordered an iced gingerbread chai which I have had before at a different starbucks and was given an iced latte. When I asked the staff about it they remade it and gave me just a cup of milk. I was disappointed because I've typically had a really good experience at Starbucks. I do not recommend this store. read more

I ordered a caramel iced coffee and never have I ever had one better!! The barista who made my drink seriously knows what she's doing!!! Words can not describe how amazing of a barista she is! After I drank my whole coffee, I got another and was lucky enough to meet the woman who made my drink! She was so sweet and gave the best energy! You can tell she loves her job! This was really sucky of this Starbucks. I ordered my beverage and drink using their app and I got this note that reads, "We ran out of oatmeal cookies, replaced w/chocolate chip." The app usually lets you know if the particular Starbucks doesn't have an item, but this time no luck. Here's my beef... -If a restaurant doesn't have what you asked, they should let you know before or when your order is placed. -Starbucks usually presents a, "Next Drink On Us" card when customer service fails to meet expectations. This did not happen...the Newton, MA location always comes correct regarding their service. -The drinks(teas) are poorly, if at all shaken. It's so quaint outside and the perfect place to duck into to escape the incredible Spring freeze - yes below freezing temps and snow still on the ground in Mid-March! I liked the store, seemed clean, room to work and not very crowded... Like the design throwback to the original I was going to give a bad score on what I got but they fixed it for me. I tried the "seared steak, egg tamatillo wrap" for the first time, asked if there are onions on it... was told no... after all why would there be onions on a breakfast sandwich... and of course bit into it loaded with onions Now ... Starbucks... if you sell something with very stringent caramelized onions as an ingredient, please list it!!! I would not expect to go buy a pepperoni pizza and find it had mayonnaise in it. Every time I come to this Starbucks they get something wrong. Today my cream cheese was expired, last time my order took 20 minutes to come out, and the time before that I received the wrong drink order. Additionally they have a new round of employees every time I go there which is probably part of the issue. Seems like there are a few problems with the management there since they cannot hold down employees! The Starbucks in Medfield is infinitely better. read more

Dave C. that "older gentleman with the speed of a legless rabbit" happens to be one of the best baristas I've ever had anywhere. He might be old and slow but he puts a lot of love into his drinks. and I know that because I always request him if someone else is making the drinks. it's nice to see employees caring about how drinks taste rather than speeding through. if you want faster service go to funking donuts. not that there's anything wrong with it. just that they don't make the specialty drinks they have at starbucks which require time! this Starbucks I'd great and if you do go here I hope the older gentleman is there to make your coffee drink. 5 stars to this starbucks BECAUSE of the old man. read more

One of the cleanest Starbucks I've even been in (and cute, too). Only complaint: TINY parking lot! Difficult to get in there from 109 sometimes... Love the little seating areas - sit on the porch or inside in one of the most cushy leather chairs eva'. Super nice (...and patient) baristas - we chitchat while they brew up my two cups of goodness. I love Starbucks, regardless of how cliche or overpriced it is, but this particular location falls a bit short for me. The average driveway has more parking then the lot here. Not only that, but the amount of traffic in front, and on the lot, combined with the weird layout, makes it a nightmare. I know two people who have crashed trying to get in or out of this lot, and I've nearly had a few incidents myself. Not a good time. Assuming you can actually find a spot and make it inside, things aren't much better. As someone else pointed out, there is an older gentleman that works there (taking orders) that is as slow as molasses on a cold winter morning. He typically gets my order wrong, and I've never repeated it less then two or three times for him. Seating is limited to a table on the deck outside and a handful of chairs inside, which seem to be always taken. There is a small selection of cups, coffees, and other related products, but nothing extensive. Inside is clean and has an updated look. Has some pastries / baked goods, what you'd find at other locations. Staff is nice enough, and usually quite cheerful. All in all, product is a solid 4.5 star in my book, but the size of the store and lot just knock it down a few. read more

I always have an issue with actually getting light ice when I go to different locations, but they always follow the order closely! I just wish there was more parking. When this Starbucks first opened about 6 years ago, it was great for two reasons: I could walk over and get coffee after dinner, pour it into cups and really impress dinner guests, and it had broadband Internet at a time when the town had no high-speed options. Now I make really good coffee at home and broadband is everywhere. What's left for me at this Starbucks? ... not much... the parking lot is always jammed with high-end cars and SUV's doing an over-caffeinated frustration dance, the lines are generally too long and the place only has two or three nice chairs that are always claimed by long-term squatters. This 'bucks, on Route 109 in Westwood across from a strip mall, is a throw-back to the older, better, simpler Starbucks of yore before hot breakfast sandwiches and other effluvia spilled over and ruined our java. Stopping at this Starbucks location on my way to work always brightens my day. All of the staff members here are SO nice, and they all remember my order, even though I come maybe 2 or 3 times a week. This was the worst Starbucks experience I have had. My gift card ran out of money so I had a dollar with me but I was still short I told the employee to forget about the drink and he just said ok and kept my card and my dollar I asked for my dollar and my card back and he just gave me the card right after he put my dollar in the cash register! I stopped here hoping to get a bite to eat and a refreshing drink. I ordered a classic coffee cake which was wonderful after being warmed but my grande cool lime refresher was terrible. It was a very small cup packed with ice and a rotten lime slice and less than an ounce of the actual drink itself which was tasteless. Absolutely not worth anywhere near the $4 I paid for that drink alone. I am very dissapointed in my past few starbucks experiences. With rude service and poor quality products I don't want to use this place in the future. read more

I've been going to this Starbucks for about 12 years now. I grew up in Medfield and still work a lot around the area. It is a pretty basic Starbucks but I kind of like the outdoor porch seating option in nice weather. It is facing route 109 and a strip mall so the view isn't great, nor is the parking, but not a deal breaker for me. Inside is pretty standard for a Starbucks and comfortable. Employees seem pretty friendly and helpful every time I've been there. Overall, a solid place to go if you are in the area. I'd give it a 4.5 star review if possible for the great memories! read more

Well this used to be my favorite Starbucks in the area. Walked in today and every table inside and outside was filthy. The floors were littered with trash, and it was really gross. Rather than cleaning, the staff was busy stocking shelves. Even the area where they made the drinks was covered in splashes from previous orders and hadn't been wiped down. When I asked to have the tables cleaned, they brought out a water soaked gray rag that left every surface dripping with water in what was probably the unhealthiest cleaning I have seen. I had to dry a table off to sit. The only bright spot was the friendly guy who took my order. This place needs better management from a health perspective. read more

I'm a big fan of Starbucks and I go there regularly. HOWEVER, this time I was less than impressed with the service. It took 30 minutes for me to walk out with the correct drink. I ordered a candy cane frapuccino, but they made a cotton candy frapuccino instead. Since their was no name I assumed it was someone else's, and it took 15 minutes until I figured out that they forgot my order. I went to talk to an employee, but she told me that they had already placed the drink on the table, and that it had been there for a while. I went back to check, and realized that they got the wrong order. I told them this, but it still took them 15 minutes until I got the drink. Makes good coffee but mixes up orders a lot and can get very busy with kids after school

Whatever happened to customer service? Today I went in and ordered a small black coffee. It was around 8 in the morning, a very busy time for customers grabbing coffee-- although there was a short line, the shop seemed relatively empty. I was able to find a parking spot (amazingly) but after I ordered my drink, I waited around for roughly 5 minutes before I could leave. This normally wouldn't have been an issue, except for the fact that I was staring at my empty coffee cup on the line, not being prepared, while the barista took his time washing dishes. Look- I totally understand that there is a lot to be done behind the bar, but if there is a line of customers CLEARLY waiting patiently for their coffees at 8 am on a week day morning, don't keep your back turned washing dishes while there is a line of coffees to be made. I mean, I work in the service industry myself behind the bar and as a server, and that is just plain common sense. To make matters worse, he knew we were all waiting! I actually asked a question and he turned around and answered before going back to taking his sweet time washing some dishes. Please, if there is a line of coffees to be made, and visible customers waiting, attend to the customers first!
