I needed a pick me up in Legacy Place and couldn't find a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts within walking distance so I settled for Nero. I got their blueberry refresher and it tasted like straight up high fructose corn syrup. And it was $5. I will say the ambiance is very cool, they have a "medieval university" feel inside with lots of books and places to sit and get some work done. They also have a bar which I've never seen before in a coffee shop but is pretty cool.

It wasn't overly sweet or drowning in syrup, which I really appreciated. I added a little cinnamon powder on top because that's my personal preference, and that little bit of cinnamon took it over the edge. The service was just as good as the coffee. It appeared that there was essentially one woman running the entire coffee counter, yet everything was handled efficiently and, more importantly, with great service. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel welcoming. We're new to the area and have been trying to explore and find our go-to local spots. Big Bear Cafe & Espresso Bar is definitely going on that list. Sometimes you stop somewhere because you need coffee and end up finding a place you actually want to come back to. This was one of those places. If you're in Dedham and looking for a great latte without having it taste like someone dumped a cup of sugar into it, give Big Bear a try. But, comparing it to the other location on Route 1 Southbound (that is visible from this location), this is SO much better. Literally. Now, I LOVE drive thrus. I live for them, and the Westwood area just doesn't seem to ever have enough. And this one isn't a drive thru. It should be, but it's not. And the other one is. But the other one is run so poorly and such a terrible Dunks to go, that I would make the U-turn, and go into this one for extremely better service. The better qualities of this Dunks is that there isn't normally many people inside, maybe 2 employees and 1 other customer, if that. It's sort of like I have the whole place, which is really nice, not loud and always immaculate. Next, the staff are always super friendly and continuously give me coupons and tell me about other Dunkin perks. For the food, they ALWAYS get my orders right, never EVER a problem with that (and they put cream cheese onto my bagels, which the other location doesn't do, even when I specifically ask for it). Overall, this is just such a better Dunkins, and there really isn't a reason to go to the other one, unless it would be super inconvenient, because once you U-turn to come here, you can't U-turn back, you gotta go up Route 1 Northbound, which is (YES) annoying for people going southbound, but still. This place is worth it...... so much better than the other Dunkins!
