Bathrooms are always dirty so how clean do they keep the kitchen? Service is hit or miss. Maybe the worst Starbucks I've ever been to.

Save yourself. This Starbucks is the worst. Orders are messed up constantly--wrong drinks, missing items, just chaos every single visit. It honestly feels like a gamble ordering here. They're clearly understaffed (not the baristas' fault), but the result is a mess. The drive-thru is always jammed up no matter the time of day, and there is absolutely nothing quick about it. If you're thinking "I'll just swing through real fast," don't. You'll regret it. They also never give you a sleeve or napkins, so enjoy juggling a hot cup and sticky hands. And if you want oat milk? Good luck. It's almost always out, so look elsewhere if that's your go-to. Between the long waits, wrong orders, and missing basics, this location is just not worth it. There are plenty of other Starbucks around--do yourself a favor and go to literally any other one. read more

I placed an in-store order at 7:48 AM. I ordered a grande size latte with skim milk and a spinach feta egg wrap. I got my drink within five minutes so a reasonable time. However, I waited over 20 minutes before the spinach and feta egg wrap. By the time it got to me, the food was room temperature and soggy the person who is doing the food would take them out of the oven and then place them next to the oven. They would not bring it to the window and call out the persons name letting them know the food is ready. They are completely lazy people. I've gave the store one too many chances. This Starbucks is terrible. Ever since they hired an older staff nothing is made correctly/the same and the wait? THE WAIT?! For the first time yesterday I had walk out with out my order because it was already 30 min into me placing my mobile order and still NOTHING. $6+ gone because I was already running late for work. This is literally the filthiest Starbucks I have ever been in. I have seen cleaner restrooms in a truck stop! The floors in the restaurant look like they haven't been swept for weeks. I am all for hiring employees with disabilities, but the nice young gentleman who took our order at the counter could barely understand us, and I couldn't understand him even after asking him to repeat himself twice. Maybe taking orders isn't the best place for him in the store. There was literally one barista actually working and 2 people taking orders. Took us about 20 minutes to get 2 hot drinks. I have mixed feelings about this location. I normally visit locations because it's close to my job. I'm not real impressed with the service I receive. I order my coffee through the mobile app and it's never ready on time. I've been there before when I have multiple drinks and they are all done in different times. One drink would be ready and the other would be about five minutes behind. I probably won't be back. read more

Management fails at this location. Consistently understaffed and badly supplied. Have been told on three different occasions that there is no oatmilk available. The staff is friendly but overworked spread too thin and management doesn't organize them at all. Trying to get a coffee here is like trying to score Adele concert or superbowl tickets. Ordinarily, this place is stellar: courteous, friendly, helpful employees; great service, just a joy to visit. On Oct 19, 2023, around 430pm, we used the app like always to place the orders. When we pulled up to the speaker, instead of the usual cheery greeting ("Welcome to Starbucks! What can I get started for you today?" or other such pleasantry), we were greeted with a very flat, "Can I help you?" I told her we were here for a pickup, and she replied, "Pull around." This is the rhetoric I expect to encounter at the burger joint with the dancing clown, not Starbucks. When we pulled to the window, we were met with the unsmiling countenance of a blonde girl wearing a tie-dyed pastel sweatshirt (no name tag) and makeup with sparklies in it who merely held out the drink. When I took it, she instantly withdrew as I tried to ask about the other drink. Apparently, she was helping the person at the speaker as it took her a while to get back to me. When she stuck her head out the window again, she asked what I said. I told her that we had another drink and she handed us a couple of straws and napkins. "I know," she said and walked away. A few minutes later, she came back and held out the second drink for me to take. "Thank you," she said, again in a flat voice. I'd like to think she was having an "off" day and wasn't on her game. read more

This Starbucks seems to need a good cleaning of the seating area and these other suggestions: how about playing some music in the store, fill in the merchandise shelves and refrigerated food display. Seems to be run down each time I visit. Not my usual coffee place anymore. Drinks are hit and miss and that seems to be the normal over the past six months. read more

This starbucks location is probably one of the best ones I have been to. It is in a good non crowded location so there is plenty of parking. There is also an outdoor sitting patio where you can relax. I ordered a low carb drink. It was a tall late made with half and half and sugar free syrup (vanilla) it was delicious and a healthier option. It can get pretty crowded during certain times of the year, especially when all of the william and mary kids are studying. read more

Been a regular here for a while. It's my office away from home. Always clean including the bathroom (although I've only used the women's.) Great workspace, plenty of outlets, comfortable seating. The food is good. The drinks are plentiful with plenty of variety. My only wish is that they would offer 'for here' service with plates and silverware like the one at Barnes and Noble does. Everything is served to go, warmed and in a bag. Definitely recommend for hanging out, working or just getting a break from the kids...that's my life! read more

I'm amazed at how someone can ignore you while you stand at the door and knock for about 15 minutes. I get this whole coronavirus is not the best right now but a cuppa coffee in the mornings always helps, I was standing at the door knocking on the door looking in the window calling the phone and no one would come out for the mobile order pick up. Nowhere did it say that they are not doing mobile orders because of the rain. It would've been nice to know before I place an order on the mobile app and paid for my Coffee to know that I would have to wait in a long drive through line. The reason why I do the mobile ordering is because I don't have time to wait in a line. I had to be at work in 20 Minutes and it took me 15 just to get somebody to come to the door. This is ridiculous. It should be posted somewhere in the mobile order app that they are not doing pick up orders when it rains. read more

I am trying to be eco- friendly. Forgot my reusable cup and asked for a paper one instead of plastic. They put a paper up in a plastic one in the lineup. Then the plastic was already filled with some food product so I said okay- just use the plastic. Then she threw the paper cup in the garbage. Eco- disaster brewing at Starbucks! The busiest Starbucks in all of Williamsburg so they sometimes get a bad rap for being slow. They are no where to being slow just incredibly busy. Look around at the drinks going out of this place. The service is always given with a smile. I love how even though it's a busy place they learn the regulars by name, drink and could tell you a thing or two about each regular customer. Would highly recommend this location. I typically order on the mobile app and 99% of the time they have my drink ready within 5 minutes of ordering. Yesterday, I ordered a drink, arrived 20 minutes later and they didn't seem to have received my order. I was unable to wait because I had to go to work, but came in today to see if I could by any chance get the drink today. They immediately agreed without any question and made the drink for free. Let me just say I love Starbucks and their Venti iced green tea. I just left this particular Starbucks and I'm perturbed. Why would you have five or six people working and only one person fulfilling orders. Three people were standing around talking. Hats off to the girl who was filling the orders. She was working her tail off. I was also frustrated with the fact that the girl who was taking inside orders did not have gloves on and yet she touched the top of every single cup that she pushed down for the barista to fill. Quite frankly, it's now way too small! Need to double in size soon-plan for the future! Moving the accessories/waste disposal counter recently into the corner was a mistake. (Now if you sit in one of the two chairs that displaced it, you've got a parade of people going to and fro past you to it--in "close quarters"--when it's busy.) Assign someone to check the trash every hour from 7 AM till 3 PM. EVERY-TIME I've visited it's been filled to overflowing! THOROUGHLY clean the outdoor area-- including chairs--daily during pollen season! This is critical, given limited space inside the store! The store needs double cashiers, at least at breakfast and lunch "busy times". I really struggled to give a "3". It generally has been clean, but so much need for improvement! read more

Fix your drive thru! Horrible efficiency. I've now been in line after my order was taken for 10 minutes. If the people's orders are too complicated, please tell them to pull forward and someone will run the order out to them when it's complete. Otherwise, DON'T offer drive thru as it's not your core competency! read more

The line for the drive thru is always wrapped around the building whenever I go. So I have started to do mobile order pickup and its been a timesaver. They make my coffee really quickly and I usually just walk in and out in under 5 minutes. read more

First off, the drive through set up is lousy and customers are forced to sit in the drive through even if you change your mind and want to leave Because the drive through is SO SLOW... I dove on up, and didn't realize there were five cars in front of me and tried to back out of the drive through, and immediately realized there were two cars behind me so I was stuck. Total wait time: 25 minutes So I placed my order: 2 caramel macchiatos with skim and no whipped cream, a small chocolate milk, and a "pupcup." Finally getting to the window, they repeated my order which was completely off. I got attitude from the man when I corrected him. They encouraged me to take a drink that was previously ordered by another patron that was SIMILAR but not what i originally ordered, and that they would make my other drink right away. They should have been all fresh, not one that had been sitting the window, melting. Yeah folks, were taking about a 90 degree day in Virginia, who wants a lukewarm beverage? I felt like I was pressured into taking it, so I hesitated but he didn't seem very interested in my answer nor did he care about how I reacted. The chocolate milk they gave me, a cold drink, was placed in a hot beverage container. This was for a child, no straw. Then the pup cup, that I have ordered multiple times from other locations, was served in a container with no top.. first I had seen this... welp, lets just say that didn't end well. The finisher? I had four beverages, not once was I offered a beverage holder and before I could even ask for one, the window was closed on me!! Bottom line, extremely poor customer service. I just visited this location to use a Starbucks reward that was close to expiring. I decided to use it for dinner since it's good for any menu item, so I figured I'd might as well get as much bang for my buck as I can and use it for a sandwich. The woman taking my order seemed rather unfriendly. I tried ordering a "protein box" which she looked for then told me was out of stock. This then repeated three more times- I tried ordering multiple food items and she told me they were ALL out of stock except she didn't even check after her first trip to the fridge. I gave up on ordering food I actually wanted to eat and asked what was available and settled for a very pathetic mushy microwaved egg sandwich. (Really didn't succeed at the most bang for my buck thing, but at that point it felt like a miracle this location even had a food product) Out of curiosity, after leaving the store I checked the app where INTERESTINGLY all of the food items I tried ordering except for one of them were listed as in stock at this location. So either the employee didn't feel like helping me or there's a significant disconnect between the app and the store, but regardless there's an issue here that needs to be resolved. read more
