I popped into 1607 Coffee Company for a midday caffeine pick-me-up before heading to Busch Gardens, and I'm so glad I did. The staff was super friendly and really helpful in walking me through their huge list of drink options. On my first visit I ordered the Teddy Grahams latte and it was amazing! It was so good that I had to double back the very next morning before driving back to Norfolk. On my second visit I tried the Reese's latte, which was also delicious, a touch on the sweet side for me but still really, really good. During both of my visits, I noticed their pastry case was loaded with cheesecakes and donuts that looked incredible, and I honestly wish I had more time to just sit, eat, and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. Wonderfully friendly staff, the food was delicious and well worth every penny, the hot honey peach cheesecake was incredible, not too sweet and very creamy texture.. wish I had taken pictures....we will be back soon. This was a cute shop that seemed to serve a bit of everything. We had lunch here so didn't have any of the coffee but rather just some sandwiches. They were good sandwiches and the service was quick and friendly. When it comes to sandwiches I have to be blown away to give a place 5 stars so for that reason alone I'm giving this place a 4 as the sandwiches were great don't get me wrong but I have had better. We went to 1607 for a mid morning Friday brunch and coffee. They were busy but there was still seating available. I ordered the savory crepes and my partner got the breakfast sandwich. My crepes were dry and tasted a little burnt. And the filling in my crepes kept falling out making it hard to eat. Once I covered it with enough hot sauce it was bearable. My partner's breakfast sandwich was good, but flat. The egg was overcooked and dry, the cheese felt a little rubbery. My partner got a coffee. Which was from an extremely hot carafe and seemed like it had been overheated to the point of possibly being burnt. The coffee was nothing special. I ordered an apple cider and honestly wish I hadn't, I think I could have made something better at home. It tasted like it came from a grocery store carton and was heated in a microwave. We got our food long before I got my beverage, and when we asked about that, the server at the counter was rude. This isn't our first time coming here, but our experience was similar last time; overpriced over done up coffees and mid level food that you'd be better off making at home, and service didn't help things. The white mocha pistachio iced latte was amazing, great pistachio tang and high quality coffee/milk. If you go for the coffee try the pistachio flavored ones! I love visiting a local coffee shop anytime I'm in a new place. This is one of the best in Williamsburg so far! The staff was amazing. Friendly. Helpful. Alan was pleasant and recommended some good stuff on the menu to try and he didn't disappoint! The space is clean, inviting, and cozy. I tried the Twix iced latte and it was delicious. The brisket breakfast sandwich was so good. And the cookie butter pie will have me driving from Hampton to try again and again! I cannot wait to go back and try more things on their menu! I proceeded to place my order and was greeted with a smile (which is always good). Of course, I ordered the breakfast sandwich, but asked for it on a bagel vs a croissant. No problem. Tried out this place the other day and really enjoyed my drink! I had a Victoria Fog Tea which is lavender earl gray tea with milk and it was delicious. They offer a lot of baked goods and drink varieties including smoothies! They offer sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch and even have ice cream. Lots of seating options band it's very nicely decorated. There is even a fireplace. Service was nice and took about five minutes for my drink but there had been a few people in front of me in line so understandable. read more

Very disappointing experience. This place has a cute dining atmosphere and plenty of potential, but the food, coffee, and facilities all fell short. I've tried the drip coffee twice, and both times it was so weak it was essentially brown water. A staff member mentioned that the grinder "wasn't working well," which feels like a pretty urgent issue for a coffeehouse to address. The brisket breakfast sandwich (brisket, caramelized onions, eggs, cheddar, and garlic aioli on a toasted English muffin) was equally underwhelming. The English muffin was barely warmed and limp, the brisket consisted mostly of small chunks of flavorless fat and gristle, and the onions were not caramelized by any reasonable standard. Overall, it was excessively greasy and unappetizing. The women's restroom also showed a lack of attention. The mirror was streaked with soap and water marks and appeared not to have been cleaned in days. The soap dispensers were crusted with residue, one stall was completely out of toilet paper with no backup available, and the other had only one roll left. There were four staff members behind the counter, and the café wasn't super busy on an early Saturday morning, so the condition of the facilities was surprising. Overall, the concept--space, décor, and menu--seems solid, but the execution and follow-through fell flat. read more

I'm from the southside, but I was meeting up with a friend before I went about my business in the area. She suggested 1607 Coffee Company (1607CC), a new coffee shop that had opened recently as our meeting place, so off we went! - Parking - Center lot. - Vibe - First, love the homey-ish vibe. There are high tables to the left and in the back, a little fireplace with 2 chairs, and regular tables in the middle. You'll find the order counter and prep area to the right. The locals seem to love the joint. Lots of people in there on a Thursday morning. - TLC - Everyone was very friendly and pleasant at the counter and just really nice to accommodate the changes in the menu items. I know a lot of places are pretty strict on their menu items, which I also respect, but when a business accommodates, it's also nice that they are willing to roll with it! - Noms - For drinks, my friend had regular black coffee and I was in the mood for hot cocoa. I noticed that they had eggnog latte, so I asked if I could get an eggnog hot cocoa and they were like, sure, why not? It came out great, super creamy and delicious. We also ordered the following bites: - brisket tacos - this was the star of the show! It had fluffy scrambled eggs, slices of brisket (well seasoned), with pickled purple onions, cotija cheese, cilantro on a corn tortilla. The order comes with 3 tacos. It did not need a thing. My friend only ate one, and I happily devoured the other two haha. - crepes stuffed with whipped ricotta and fig jam - this was inspired by the Whipped ricotta and fig toast. I just felt like a crepe, so again, I asked if I could get the topping of the toast, stuffed in a crepe and they graciously accommodated my request. It was pretty good, but I think I'll try the toast next time. It must be prettier as a toast! I love ricotta and I love fig so it was a great combo. - spiced eggnog cake - this was a good cake. Pretty moist and the icing wasn't overbearing! Next time, I should probably get a drink that isn't the same flavor to fully appreciate the combo! - apple pastry - I actually didn't take a bit of this at all, since I was so stuffed from eating all the other things, but my friend enjoyed it! Overall, I loved the vibe of this place. Just felt welcoming. It was decorated for the holidays and there's a cute quote printed by the washrooms that says "Support your local caffeine dealer". It is cute! The other thing I was pretty taken aback by was their prices! The brisket tacos were less then $10 for THREE...and they are BRISKET. Are you reading this?! I have had my share of visits at restaurants and cafes, and once, I went to one cafe for my latte to be $9 and some change...JUST FOR MY LATTE. So anyway, go here. I live less than a mile away from 1607, so we were very excited when we heard that a coffee shop was finally opening near us. In the short time that they've been open, we've been three times. Our first time, we were wildly unimpressed by the coffee. It wasn't bad, just no better than Wawa for the brewed coffee and the mocha wasn't very good, certainly not as good as other options available locally. Our second time, we got breakfast sandwiches and took them home. They were very tasty, but not worth the price. This time, I picked up a lunch sandwich. The cranberry turkey sandwich had a good flavor, but barely any turkey. Maybe two slices? The chips seemed very stale. Overall, it seemed like the kind of sandwich one might find in a hospital cafeteria for $7.99, not in an artisan cafe for almost $16 with tax. The peanut butter chocolate cake was very dry; my wife described it as being "worse than grocery store cake". So, the food was not bad, just far overpriced for what you get. Which brings me to the service. The young man at the register was utterly devoid of personality, seemed completely confused by his every action, and moved at the speed of continental drift. The young lady making the drinks was incapable of answering basic questions about their menu, and was so rude to customers that the man waiting behind me announced that he would simply rather not eat there and left without ordering. Overall, very much not impressed. The breakfast sandwiches are honestly the only saving grace, bumping the overall score to two stars. I don't foresee us visiting again. It looks like we will have to drive past 1607 and continue down the road to Aromas. read more

i recently tried 1607 coffee company, a new coffee shop that just opened in williamsburg this month! i was really impressed with the coffee and the atmosphere! i got the salted caramel macchiato, and it was perfect. the coffee was rich and flavorful, and the salted caramel was just the right amount of sweet. my boyfriend got the vanilla ice latte, and he said it was sweet but still had the espresso flavor he enjoys we also ordered a cinnamon roll, and it was soft and fluffy, with a generous amount of cinnamon sugar frosting. the atmosphere of the coffee shop was also really nice. it was filled with greenery, and it looked beautiful. there were also a lot of comfy chairs and couches, so it was a great place to relax and enjoy my coffee. i also noticed that they sell gelato! i didn't try it this time, but i'm definitely going back to try it soon. overall, i had a great experience at 1607 coffee company. i would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious cup of coffee and a relaxing atmosphere. i'm giving it a 4 out of 5 stars! = $20 : mon-sat 6am-6pm (hours may vary) * indoor/ outdoor seating eat well, sasha @foodxcafecito read more

Cute place for good coffee with hundred of ways to customize. He got the iced Milky Way 1/2 sweet and it was sweet enough, and really good. I got 1/2 caf, cause I could :) with skim milk and it was very tasty. The berry tart and spinach feta tart were so good! I love that ordering is on their digital device so I can see all of the options. Service is pretty quick. The ambiance is very cute with high tops and regular height tables, indoor and outdoor seating. I thought that the shopping center looked a little sus at first but the coffeehouse was lovely. Coffee tasted subpar, food menu has a few good options, and the baristas could be nicer. I got a double shot over ice with honey and light oat milk. Their mix and roast of beans at the time didn't stand out and wasn't the most "tasteful." The baristas seemed kind but lacking that extra personality/ customer connection during my interactions. They seemed to care more about each other and less about assuring I had a good experience. The inside setting was neat and clean. The outside patio area is a nice little space as well.
