We ended up selecting Trip F: Elkin Creek Vineyard, Slightly Askew, Raffaldini Vineyards and Menarick Vineyards. Our driver, Johnthan, picked us up promptly at 10:30 to get us to our first tasting of the day. He was with us all day taking us to each of the wineries and was very accommodating. There isn't a wine on the menu that we disliked, and we especially love the Traminette and the Oh Le Deaux (trust me, get this deep fragrant red dessert wine). The food was good, and the owner is really nice and has wonderful stories about his travels. Overall, we have discussed making this a yearly or at least every other year trip for us because of the serene riverside property and the amazing wines. The location is beautiful--tucked beside the Roaring River in a small valley, with a peaceful and scenic setting. Menus were provided when we sat down, along with an offer for drinks. Although this is a winery, they also serve beer and other beverages. Our server gave us a wine menu but directed us to scan a QR code for the other drink options. Since there's no cell reception, we had to connect to the winery's Wi-Fi first, which felt a little awkward. After all that, the beer menu was quite limited--something that could have been more easily explained up front. The food menu was also limited, which we expected at a winery. None of us ordered wine, but two of us had beers, and we shared the soft pretzel bites with beer cheese dip and a charcuterie board. Both appetizers were presented beautifully and tasted great--we really enjoyed sampling them. After our food and drinks, we walked the grounds. The property is stunning, with accommodations for overnight stays, a pavilion for events, and multiple access points to the river. Overall, this was a wonderful place to relax and catch up with friends. The highlights were the scenery and the food, while the downsides were the limited menu options and service that felt less helpful than expected.

We had a lovely experience at grandfather Vineyard recently while on vacation. We decided to come…read moreon a whim while staying in seven devils and enjoyed lovely life, music, and lots of local vendor foods and treats. The grounds were absolutely beautiful with ample seating, both near the water and across the yard near the stage. The staff was great about consistently cleaning up to keep away bees, or any sort of other pests. It was lovely to see so many families and even dogs which made it a more casual and fun experience overall. We tried the dry flight and overall really enjoyed it! We are usually red wine drinkers, but overall actually preferred the whites instead. Only negative was that they didn't have any of the umbrellas set up at the tables and the sun was quite bright and hot that day so it was difficult to find a location with shade and a table. We had to choose two chairs under some shade and use a third chair as a temporary table which made our experience a little less comfortable. We ended up purchasing two bottles of the white wines from our flight and would highly recommend others coming back in the future.
