    The lazy elm tree! :-)
    Nicole N.

So glad we found this place! We were at other wineries in the area and wanted to go to one more before the day ended... this one was the closest :-) The tasting room isn't big & it's not fancy but boy do they make up for it with their wines. The owner/winemaker definitely knows his stuff! He's a very nice guy down to earth & most likely will be there on the weekends. He'll take the time & talk to you about the wines & answer any questions you have about winemaking in general. You can tell this is really his passion & it shines through in his wines. One thing I appreciate is he values educating his employees on the wines he makes and the winemaking processes. We had two wonderful ladies giving us our wine tasting and gave us a wealth of knowledge that we didn't already have and we are definitely serial wine-tasters :-) but they credited all their knowledge to the owner, how nice!!! If you're a red wine lover he has some great red wines! He also hand-presses all his wine to remove the seeds & stems before fermentation, this way you don't get a tannin taste. His wines were incredibly smooth! He also has a great true Italian Pinot Grigio & a good stainless steel Chardonnay. There are a few semi-sweet wines & an amazing port! We definitely left with a bottle of the port, highly recommend! You have to go here, you won't regret the wines or the knowledge you gain!

Love this little hidden gem. We got a delicious sangria and enjoyed outside by the live music. The patio area has a lot of potential, I would love to see them expand and really embrace the great outdoor space they have! The staff was super friendly and helpful!

I have had the most exciting weekend! This weekend I got the chance to visit some amazing vineyards…read moreand wineries. It started off with visiting Rayson Winery & Vineyards with Bistro Europa Restaurant in Mocksville, NC. I was greeted and welcomed with a tasting with Coleman. This young lady is so knowledgeable and professional in every aspect when it comes to wine! She explained how it got started, how they cultivated the grapes and overcoming obstacles that was preventing the wine production etc. This vineyard has so much history that any wine lover would love to hear, and Coleman is definitely that someone who could share the story. The wines I sampled all had unique tastes. One of my favorite was Sweet Vermouth Blanc. This is a dessert white wine that has varietals of Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay. The ambiance at this location was elegant and filled with sophistication. The customer service from everyone was great. The manager who made all this possible was Liz, who is the manager of Digital and Social for JOLO Brands. She allowed me to have one of the most exceptional experiences ever! I am a wine lover and I absolutely love sampling and learning the ins and out of the wine industry so having these moments are magical!

We also got a red wine that was recommended by our server. I typically never like local NC wines. But it was seriously one of the best red wines I have had. We had the best service. She was very attentive and was really friendly. This is a perfect date night spot! The restaurant is beautiful inside. We will definitely be back to try the brunch next!

I still have a soft spot for Blue Norther and Rooster Black! Post-grad, I found myself there often with family and friends, particularly at their Friday "Wine-downs," featuring live music and wine slushies that the whole community loved. I hope they make a comeback! The best thing about this place is the fun, relaxed vibe. While they're best known for their sweet wines, they have a solid range of traditional dry offerings that I've come to appreciate more since those early days. :) The tasting room staff is friendly and knowledgeable without being pretentious, so it's perfect for wine newbies and enthusiasts alike. The venue itself is beautiful, with a gazebo, amphitheater, and well-kept grounds. I've been to a couple of weddings and a baby shower there, and they were all lovely. Overall, a laid-back, genuinely fun destination worth the drive. Highly recommend!

We came on a busy Saturday and the pourer said this was how it was when it was a race day down in Charlotte. People were bringing their little kids along with them to get their wine on before the race....yikes. The tasting room was nice as I said, large and full of wine to purchase and swag to buy. There were a number of different places in the tasting room (building), I think I counted five places you in different parts of the building you could taste wine. There is a bistro in a separate building, it seemed okay, we didn't get food. The wine was decent, but not stellar, so that is the four instead of five star from me. Worth a visit if you're heading up or down to Charlotte or just are in the area.
