Stardust Lounge is still a strong option for going out, but here's the thing. If you're going to be a lounge\martini bar, better make sure the bartenders know what's up. They should excel with the basics and know how to pour the more obscure concoctions as well. Sadly, that's just not the case here. This cute little basement throwback lounge was a great way to spend a Tuesday night, however stay away if you're conservative or have a weak stomach...Cause its Dirty Bingo Night! The bartender was a little less than knowledgeable (had to ask us what day it was, and couldn't name the specials after we told her) but the overall experience of the place was worth it. As long as you don't ask questions, you're great! Dirty Bingo was quite fun, get a Bingo card with each drink you buy, which is quite counterproductive, because the more drinks you have, the less you're able to see your bingo cards! All the Bingo prizes are from Fairvilla, and range from dirty magazines to threesome pornography to anal beads. Last night our table won Barely Legal the magazine, great time! Be prepared to go to the bar if you're thirsty, cause even though there are tables and booths there are no waitresses. Watch out for O-69, and Don't call a fake bingo! read more

I've tried to give this cool underground lounge a few shots. I hate writing a bad review so I try to give a so so spot a few chances to change my mind. Swanky interior, a fun burlesque theme, and a few pool tables. But even years between visits this place has not corrected the lack of good customer service or cocktails worth the high price. I won't be back and it seems the staff couldn't care less. A few years ago cocktails were poorly made and unbalanced. My group was one of only a handful of people here so I assumed it was a slow/off night and just bad luck. When our bartender didn't seem to care we were unhappy our group paid and walked out leaving the full cocktails on the bar. My most recent visit, I was hopeful that things had improved since they still seem to do decent business. Someone in my group ordered an old fashioned and was not happy with it after one sip. He drinks them often, including making his own at home. This one came out pink and was not even drinkable. At over $10, he just wanted to trade the old fashioned for a beer. Our server informed us that because he took a drink of it, she could not refund him or offer him a free alternative such as a $2.50 PBR on the menu. That is a crap policy. Not offering to remake it or offer a sensible alternative is just bad customer service. I have worked in a number of restaurants and bars so I know it is not an uncommon request. Just like sending back an under/over cooked meal. Poor quality should be compensated by good service. Sure--bad policy. But then to top if off the bartender, 5 feet from our table, picks up the full returned drink and asks the server what's the deal. Then the bartender gets pissy and loudly says that is an old fashioned so I don't know what they wanted and proceeds to be offended that someone not like her drink. It was loud and over the top, when the whole thing could have been easily remedied with a free, cheap beer in place of the crap cocktail. As other reviews have echoed, the cocktails here are terrible and staff don't seem to care. If you do come here, stick to shots, beer, or wine. $20 for an undrinkable cocktail and glass of cheap house wine? No thanks. There are plenty of better choices nearby. read more

What does an out of towner think when she has to walk down a set of creepy looking stairs to a bar? Run the other way or trust your friend? I trusted that Colleen B was going to take me somewhere amazing...and AMAZING it was! We went during a Burlesque competition, lucky me! The host of the night was incredible! Her name escapes me, but she looks like Pink (even though she told us she f'n hates when people say that!). She kept your attention the whole time andit actually made me think she should do stand up, she was that funny! Everything that came out of her mouth was hilarious! The girls: some were good some were bad, but all were entertaining in their own way. The stage is set up a little haphazardly because the ceiling is so low and there room is shaped like an L so they dart from one end of the room to the next and you miss part of the show. Although, I don't really know how much boobiliciousness you need to feast your eyes on! This PA girl was VERY happy to see Yeungling on tap, although I do know there's a brewery in FL. Lucky me and lucky Floridians! The lighting is dark, which probably makes everything look better! There's lots of intimate booths and abundant seating all around. Went back here last night, and it's still a 4 star! One downside: it's a chatter chamber! The low ceilings seem to echo everyone's conversation round n' round the room such that when it's crowded, you feel a bit klostraphobic. Emily is a charming barmaid. Tucked into the basement of Post Parkside, this ultra-chic, retro lounge has become a favorite. Steps lead you down into a basement with low lighting, hip seating, billiards and old movies playing on the plasmas. A very cool and relaxed atmosphere with an extensive drink list including delicious martinis and wine. Seating is abundant either in booths or vinyl covered stools. One of the best features about this tucked away treasure is the ability to actually find seating and enjoy a discussion with close friends. While it's basement location may keep it from being filled to the brim with patrons, that is one of the highlighting features - it is one of the ONLY bars in Orlando that boasts maneuverability. Unlike others, it is not overcrowded or filled with wrenching smoke. In a sea of boring, unoriginal nightclubs, this is one of Orlando's hottest, trendiest and most original places to enjoy good friends, good music and good drinks. read more

Retro and fantastically kitschy, Stardust is hands down my favorite drinking/dancing place to go in Orlando. The music is out-of-control good, with the DJ skipping from Prince to AC/DC to Digital Underground with seamless perfection. If you like pretentious places, and "scene-y" spots then stay away from my Stardust! No one cares who you are, what you do, what you look like, how you dance, etc. There is something so awesome about places like this, where you can seriously be yourself. The drinks are pretty cheap. I got 4 shots of tequila plus tip for $24, Not bad. Great bartenders. Fun place. I have never had a bad time here. Plus no cover... and the bouncers AREN'T assholes. read more

Stardust can be found lurking underground around the corners of Lake Eola/ Downtown. I came here a few times mainly for the peek a boo burlesque and Friday nights. They have red leather couches everywhere, dim lights, strong orange-tinis, and a DJ that has powers to read peoples' minds so he spins the dopest tracks. From Run Dmc to David Bowie songs I knew this was the place to be! Now let's go into depth about the burlesque show, all these women had their own dancing style and although it was sultry dancing they kept it very classy. They made lip singing look so fun and they perform like nobody was watching. Definitely kept the crowd entertained like it was a Vegas peep show. When Orlando has events that is completely out of the town's element, I just love it! Will continue coming back here for the music, drinks, and random events. read more

On the good side it has an awesome atmosphere. Good, chill place to hang out. I will give it another shot sometime. However, my first experience was not impressive. I stopped by at 2:00 today. Sign out front showed the drink specials, door was unlocked and walked right in. No one was to be found. Luckily I had an understanding date so we hung out for a while. About ten minutes in the bar tender is walking around, but has no interest in making drinks. At about 2:20 I was faced with a decision: find another bar, or walk to her bar, order drinks and stiff her on the tip. Since I'm a bartender we just left. My advice: It's probably worth bringing a flask to avoid those awkward situations where you can't get a drink. read more

I came here for the first time Saturday night for a birthday party. The vibe and decor is awesome. Red and black vinyl, photos of the Rat Pack and pinups, very swanky. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive, but holy cow my bar tab was $100 between me and my husband. Stick to whatever is on special, folks. You can get away with jeans and a T-Shirt here, but I chose to doll it up with a cocktail dress. Beers ran around $5-6 per bottle, but of course they had the old standards - PBR for $2.50. They have a full liquor bar and also bottle service. It was about $120 for a bottle of Three Olives vodka. They also serve wine and champagne by the bottle or glass. When we first got there it was very dark, but once my eyes adjusted it was appropriate. Free pool in the back room, lots of room to sit, lounge or move around and socialize. I believe it is no smoking, so as a non-smoker i LOVED that. No cover charge (we got there at 8) so that was a plus. They may have instated a cover later in the evening. They played a lot of up to date music, not the crappy pop/hip hop they play on the radio, more indie/dance style. When we walked in they were playing Cold War Kids. The parking on that end of town can be tricky. There is a garage across the street at 13 S Osceola for $10. Nice classy joint, but the drinks were a little too pricey for my taste. read more

Stardust is one of my favorite places to go in downtown Orlando. It's not in the heart of downtown Orlando clubs/lounges like Church St., etc...but it's worth the little walk by Lake Eola to get there. The atmosphere is very fun. There are fun retro looking tables to chill at, booths (big and small) to curl up in, bar stools, and just random ottoman looking seats. To me, it's definitely that place you go "where everybody knows your name." I'm always dancing like a crazy person at Stardust - they have a great selection of music and I'm not usually ever let down nor have I ever had a bad time there. read more

I love the retro movies! The music is awesome--some of it took me WAaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. I must say the highlight of my night was watching the young gay guys dance to N Sync--so rich! (can I say that?. . .hmmm) I never tire of watching the mysterious combination of people + alcohol + music. You never know what might evolve. . .very amazing stuff. LOVE IT!!! This was the first time I was at the basement. I was there for kinky bingo. It was a good time. Make sure you get there early or there won't be any seats or bingo cards. This event is not for the easily offended. The host entertains you while you frantically find your BINGO. Prizes are of the adult variety and are humored throughout the set. I went here last night for the first time and loved the atmosphere! Very unique place, especially since it is underground! I wasn't expecting any people to really be out on a Monday night, and I was definitely right. There were only two other people there when my friend and I arrived around 10:30ish. A few other people showed up a bit later, but it was mostly dead. I do not mind this if my company is good, so I thoroughly enjoyed myself! The music was AWESOME.. lots of olides from the 50s and 60s. I am not sure if this is the case every night, but I imagine it is with the decor and feel of the place. The furniture is great... lots of neat retro couches and chairs to choose from, all by tables with candles on top. My friend and I sat on some white couches by the fake fireplace... Nice touch. I cannot comment on the drink prices, as they were being bought for me, but the lady bartender there that night was extremely friendly! She told us about some upcoming events that all sounded fun, and even personally walked us upstairs to their sister bar that has the art gallery at street level. Overall, it was a great experience! I've been to Stardust several times now and ALWAYS have a great time. Waitresses are friendly and attentive, drinks are good and fairly priced. But what I really like is the friendly and beautiful crowd of people drawn to Stardust. The crowd seems as warm and welcoming as the staff. It's obvious that many patrons are regulars and know each other, though they seem quick to give everyone a warm welcome. It's an eclectic mix, of all colors, financial means, and sexual preferences. Some wear t-shirts and shorts, and some dress to impress. The monthly Peek-a-Boo Lounge act is a hoot, with cute girls in imaginative costumes dancing and collecting dollars, from as many women as men. (Definitely not a "strip club" vibe.) The hostess, Blue Starr, is a gorgeous and well-known promoter/choreographer/dancer; she's quick-witted with a mouth like a sailor. I wish Stardust a very long and prosperous run. read more

Went here on a Tuesday night for Dirty Bingo. We had a great time. The atmosphere was awesome and the host, Baby Blue was great. She was funny and entertaining. I reserved a table so when we got there, we just had to find the table with my name on it. You get a bingo card with every drink you buy. They even went around and sold $1 jello shots during a couple of rounds. Yummy! They have a couple of pool tables in the back as well. Great lounge with a vibe unlike any other. read more

I'm so shocked I hadn't been here before. This place was super fun and right up my alley. Hidden beneath the streets of Orlando is this retro gem. They played a great selection of music. Fun for dancing. It wasn't crazy packed (even on a Saturday) so you could actually breathe while dancing. For a more laid back atmosphere, you could play pool in the back. I loved the silhouettes denoting the ladies and men's room. I felt the drink prices were really good for a Saturday. They have a screen playing a movie (you can't really hear it but that's fine). I LOVE Stardust! The first time I went, it was pretty quiet and fairly empty. It had a really chill, lounge type vibe, and I enjoyed it. They had some tiki-style drink specials, which may have been a summer thing, but I just loved the atmosphere. It is comfy and swanky all at the same time! The last time I went, this past weekend, the place was PACKED! It was a completely different vibe, but still really cool! There was a DJ playing some great '80s and '90s tunes that were SO fun for my friends and I to sing along to! There was a great crowd, lots of people dancing, but not obnoxious at all! And we were still able to find a place to sit. Everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves so much! And they were all really friendly, too! After an amazing time at the Pride Festival and Parade a couple of friends and I decided to stumble in here. It is swanky yet approachable. Drinks were reasonably priced and even with how busy it was because of the festivities, the bartenders were efficient and took care of me and all of my friends in a reasonable amount of time. I LOVED this place. I went here with a few friends because there was an event happening in the vegan community and I had never heard of this place so I was a little excited. However, as soon as I got there I noticed that this was going to be a really fun time. The first thing that made me happy was the fact that it was free to get in! Yay! Now, I don't know if it was because of the event or if it's normally free to get in, so I would double check that before arriving. Inside, the place was really nice. There was a big enough dance floor for all my crazy moves and still give enough room for everyone else in the lounge to get down and dirty. If you're the type that just likes to sit and people watch, then there is enough seating available for you. They have couches and chairs and booths and it's awesome! We had the VIP section reserved for us, so that was really nice! The pool table was a huge hit with the party because everyone wanted to show off their skills... but I wasn't too impressed. Sorry guys (love ya). The last thing I really liked about this place was the music!! The guy that they had at the DJ booth was really good and he played a good variety of music. Everything was a fun combination! He played top 40's, oldies, R&B, dance music, electro music, you name it, he played it. Overall, I had a super fun and great experience at Stardust Lounge. If you're not really up for the super hyped, overcrowded club scene, you'll want to give Stardust Lounge a shot. The dim lights, décor, & tunes definitely put you in a more chill, laid back mood. That's the type of vibe I like. We played a few games of pool and spent most of our time just lounging back in that area. They even allowed my friend to bring in his uber cute Yorkie. He was the center of attention all night. The drinks are gooood and reasonably priced. The bartenders were quick and the crowd, from what I could tell, was more in the 30+ range. This was a Sunday night so I'm not sure about the crowd this place attracts on a Friday or Saturday. read more

Any bar where you have to walk downstairs in order to enter immediately earns a plus mark! However. . . Stardust Lounge is a jazzy downtown lounge situated right on Lake Eola. The decor is dark, cozy and intimate, but it seems Stardust is suffering a bit of an identity crisis when it comes to music, clientele and decor. At once, it's an homage to the Vegas lounges of Sinatra's days, but Stardust Lounge lacks the authenticity. I don't get the feeling that the staff nor the majority of the clientele enjoy the swanky 40's feel. Hence, the music is eclectic, playing anything from Sinatra to Billy Idol. There are televisions sporting ESPN and pool tables line the bar area of the bar. The clientele is mostly a steady stream of yuppie late twenty-somethings and thirty-somethings. Sometimes the music is a tad too loud to enjoy conversations but there's not really a dancefloor to get your groove on. Overall, this is a cool place and one that definitely has potential. Check our Baby Blue's Dirty Bingo Night and Truth or Dare with Pepe on the 3rd Thursday of every month! Those nights are both sure to make for an amusing evening. read more

I've been here for drinks with another couple during holidays, an impromptu party, a birthday party, and a wedding reception (long after the actual destination wedding) complete with Elvis impersonator, and a well earned cocktail after an evening footrace. Each time the atmosphere and drinks were just lovely. Each time the service was lacking - cold (not cool) and slow (not languid). Improve the service (hire/train some folks who can smile and at least occasionally like their job) and the stars go up! Great spot for all those happenings mentioned above. Almost forgot! They don't serve food but the pizza place above it is pretty good, works great in a pinch, and the servers there should probably train the ones here. read more

This underground bar only opened for a few weeks seems to be doing very well. like nothing else seen in the area. great lighting and old movies on plasmas behind the bar and in the billiard room. the two pool tables in the back have a cool retro feel with zebra striped bumpers and are available by the hour, like that alot, no one hovering over you with there money on the table to get next game. Friday and Saturday it is very crowded. i prefer to go on weeknights when there is more room and its quick to get a drink. the drinks are priced well for the area. well drinks start at only $4. my stoli and soda was $5.50 and my buddies Bud light was $3.50. the bartender told me that happy hour is every day til 8pm with $2.50 wells, $3.50 calls and $2.50 domestic bottles i dug the scene and the wild mix of music. i heard everything from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to Dean Martin, a nice change from all the club music and dance music. there usually is a crowd of people up stairs hanging out because the bar is no smoking, i love that but the first time i came i thought there was a line to get in. i will defiantly be back, this may be my new watering hole read more

Cool, swanky appeal. Reasonably priced drinks. All-in-all a fun place to grab a drink and gab with pals. When it's too crowded it can be difficult to move around, and it feels a bit claustrophobic as you are underground, but any place feels like that when the crowds pile in. I have been a few times for drinks and twice for the burlesque show, and while they are definitely entertaining, I don't think I'd ever go unless it was part of an evening out with a group of friends. It gets a bit too crowded for my liking, but I know TONS of ppl that really like to go and I have no problem joining. read more

I am not a fan of cover charges but I made the $5 exception because I was looking to try something different. I will say that for the cover, it was definitely entertaining. The MC is BOLD! She is not afraid to call you out for being straight or get in your face to make you the butt of her joke. Another words, don't go if you are a wuss and hide if you are timid. Once the show started, it moved along at a good clip. There was no time for boredom or dull moments. I found myself forgetting to post on Facebook and not caring about drink price. These are good signs. Here is the skinny; Stardust is a cool lounge. The Wednesday show is fun and a hit. Would I want to do it every Wednesday? I don't think so BUT... I will go back. Pro: DJ is great on Saturday nights, thats the night we went. Con: no security or management walking around. had to block a drunken creeper from harrasing some girls, and walk him away from our area. Drinks are average price for the area. The DJ makes the difference. mostly 80-00 hits, but he gets our of sorts for a couple of songs every hour or so. Casual atmosphere. good location. read more
