I wanted to love it -- even after reading all the bad reviews -- because the atmosphere was absolutely spot on. Aptly named "The Treehouse", it's exactly how I would imagine a treehouse turned bar. We came pretty early in the evening (around 8pm) and there was no bouncer or sign, just an open door. Walking up the lantern-lit, wood adorned stairs, I found myself getting really excited and becoming impressed. Upstairs, you find a cute space with green astroturf and a lot of wood surfaces. It wasn't too packed at that time, but the space was definitely limited -- no bar seating, no table seating. We ended up scrunched up at the end of the bar near the door. It was pretty uncomfortable. The bartenders were nice. They got our drinks right away and the drinks were ok. My friends got the Morning Wood (which I didn't really like) and I just got the Moscow Mule (my go to drink when I don't see anything I really want). My mule was served in a mason jar, which isn't the traditional vessel; it was strange since I saw other people with the mules in the right copper mugs. Everything was also very expensive for what it was. It got pretty crowded around 9:30pm, so we left. I noticed that the bouncer had arrived by then and he was checking IDs to let people in. There was barely any standing room by that time so I was surprised they were still letting people in. I wonder what the total capacity is. All in all, I think The Treehouse has a LOT of potential. The atmosphere is pretty awesome, but it's overcrowded and not so much a speakeasy anymore. It's not really a place that you can go and comfortably hang out, especially not during the weekend. I wouldn't be adverse to coming back if a friend invited me, but I personally wouldn't choose The Treehouse as a must-hit night spot. p.s. I didn't really get the tvs with fish on them. How does that fit in with the treehouse theme?

The concept is cool, but they really should have called it "Basement's upstairs storage closet" as one of my friend's pointed out. The space is MUCH tinier then I expected, I think 10 people, including the bartender would put them at capacity. Because of the lack of space, the bar tenders have to duck under the bar to get in and out which is really awkward if you're stuck standing in front of that part. Also, they thought it would be a good idea to put up a dart board, which means you can't even use the high tops for fear of having your eye poked out. The actual bartender was nice enough, but one from basement came to hang out with and take shots with him, which led him to ignoring customers and I thought that was kinda douchey. I ordered some gin-cucumber-collins drink which was really watered down, barely had booze and cost $2 too much and as did everything on the menu.

Hidden speakeasy near Pine/Magnolia. Look for a green door. I'd give you more specifics but I don't want to ruin the fun :) Upon entering, you proceed up a steep staircase lit by lanterns into a loft - a single room with wood paneling, a faux deer head, Astroturf on the floor, a few tables and a bar. They have full liquor, with a short craft cocktail list, mostly served in mason jars. It's fun to watch the bartenders at work - one of the drinks, a smoked apple cinnamon, even involved the capture of actual smoke from a cedar plank into the jar as part of the preparation. My basil lemonade was tasty and light, and my friend's Columbian Bulldog was very unique - coffee-infused vodka, butterscotch and milk - would be a great dessert drink! I'm going with three stars instead of four because the vibe is just slightly off to me due to the hip-hop dance mixes being played and two huge TVs showing football games - but everything else is pretty chill, and the place has potential. Worth checking out.

Discover this great little place while in town on business and staying with a good friend downtown. I never would have stumbled apond it if it hasn't been for my friend Nye. The bartender was friendly and did a wonderful job at making something special for my picky taste. I loved the grass on the floor and the moose head over the bar. Everyone was super friendly and laid back. It really made my short visit wonderful. I will be sure to stop by again when I'm in town on business again.

I think I like small bars... because I can't understand why this place would have a bad review. They have creative drinks (we had and espresso pumpkin spice shot that had some sort of alcohol) and a chill ambience.

    Andrew the best bartender.

So me and the lady finally found this place after walking back and forth on pine. .not going to give away any hints. Put your thinking caps on and find it. Cozy astroturf and bar stools are the home of hand crafted drinks from some of the most down to earth bartenders I've met downtown. They have a handful of selected crafts they make and if Andrew is there he can craft an amazing Old Fashioned. Music was good seemed like an ipod yet it set the mood with upbeat and good tempo tunes. All in all, just come find it, have a drink, talk and meet some cool people. I love it for my new crafted drinks fix

The ambiance and feel of the bar is very "sultry" and "intimate." The mood lighting, dark paneling/interiors paired with the bar itself being lit to be the center of attention, lends itself to the secretiveness and LURE that a modernized speakeasy would provide. I truly enjoy stepping foot into this little hidden, but NOT so hidden, gem (which can be accessed from the interior to Talay). Service can be slow at times - especially when they are busy. However, the staff is usually always gracious, helpful, and willing to serve. The few great mixologists I've met there have also been very willing to break down how they make their drinks and really give us a glimpse into their world. So, I'm appreciative of that. That is not something that you can always expect at bars. As for the drinks (and food I'll glaze over), I am usually not left disappointed. I appreciate that seasonally they play with their drink menu and introduce new cocktails. I also love a handful of their signature drinks on the menu. This may be the only bar I've had a drink with Aperol in it that I actually ENJOYED (and not tolerated). The pricing can get high depending on what you order, but for the area and the going rate of a night out, they hold their own. Definitely don't pop into Noir if you are looking for an AFFORDABLE cocktail experience because the tab will creep up on you. The food is OKAY. They share a kitchen with Talay and offer some items not on the Talay menu - which is nice. However, I rarely eat when I visit, so the few times I have, it's been okay. Nothing to truly brag home about. I am happy, though, that they did start offering food because in the very beginning (when they first opened), that was not an option. Anyways, Noir Bar is GREAT (to me)! I will keep coming here and recommending it to others. It's also great for a date night or night out with your friends. It's in a decent location - but please take heed of parking in this area, as it can be challenging to find FREE street parking. However, there is parking available all around and in various garages nearby.

Real good vibes. Orlando obviously has no shortage of places to eat, drink, and gather, but Alfie's belongs to that rare category of venues that feel equally at home in a major metropolis. It's the kind of spot that would fit seamlessly into Los Angeles's best neighborhoods: think Gold Line in Highland Park or the Vinyl Room at the Hollywood Palladium. Not because they're carbon copies, but because they share that intangible quality of genuine discovery and cultural curiosity. The crowd ( age range 25 - 35 mostly ) was genuinely engaged with one another. People were actually talking, actually present, not hunched over their phones. That alone felt invigorating. There was an undeniable spark in the room. Alfie's wasn't chasing trends; it was simply allowing them to emerge naturally. What impressed me most was how they brought it all together .. Retro stereo equipment and vinyl players from the 50s mixed with a bar area that's super sleek and modern. Conversations, music, the lounge itself .... all came together in a way that felt alive and IN THE MOMENT. When my LA friends visit, Alfie's is on the list. Go after 9 or 10 PM and plan to stay for at least two hours. That's when you really see the scene develop and come alive. Bring your ID: they card at the door. Even at my age, I still get carded. After we all piled into the photobooth, someone walked up and asked for our IDs. He wanted us to exit the booth to get them. Eventually said ok because we had already paid and on a timer. But he was very impatient. Let me add that there was not a single person in the entire place. NO ONE. Let me also add that almost our entire group is almost 40. So we're obv not underage. With the way he approached us and was completely impatient, we were a little turned off and left. Which lost them money on our entire group. He followed us out the door as we left. It was a weird experience especially when there was literally no one else in there. The music was good but I doubt and of us will to back based on that experience alone.

The Arturo Fuente was strong and tasted like a cigar and was very tobacco and coffee forward; it was great with the sweet dessert. For food, I went with the ceviche which was nice and fresh. We looked over the happy hour menu (good all day on Monday nights and Tuesday through Friday 5-7pm). We ask Mel about the "Bartender's Choice" selection under happy hour drinks. She said the bartender will mix a drink of their preference. The customer cannot choose the alcohol or any mixers as the bartender makes the decisions all by him or herself. Mel asked if we had any allergies or any other issues that might affect the drinks the bartender would like to make. We said we did not and we decided to take on this "choice" experience. Serena was the bartender of the evening and she did an amazing job. She mixed up various concoctions for us throughout the night (we ordered a second round after the first one) and we enjoyed every drink she prepared. The presentation of the drinks were also well done. Serena's cocktails consisted of bourbon, rum, and various ingredients which could include bitters, lemon, agave or other cocktail mixers. She was the bartender extraordinaire of the evening. For food, we ordered the half dozen chicken wings (2 orders since they were so good) and the pizza empanadas to start. The two empanadas had mozzarella cheese stuffed inside and were served with a warm marinara. From the main menu, we ordered the Faroe Island Salmon, which was served on a bad of risotto and tomato butter, with capers. The portion of the salmon was somewhat small for the price of $28, but it and the risotto were cooked perfectly. We ended the night with their signature drink, "Death in the Afternoon" which contains absinthe and is one of my favorite drinks here in Orlando. It was another five star experience and my friend found a new restaurant she now loves. All in all, a great night thanks to the attentiveness and easy-going attitude of Mel, our server, and the exceptional cocktails from the bartender, Serena. Thank you both for a job very well done!

I got the transparency issue and it was what the bartender called "adult juice." it was sweet, but also very light in floral with the rose essence. Great alternative to my usual drink. My friend got the coco craze and WOW! I was impressed. The drink was so tasty and refreshing and yes, it was THC infused. We asked the bartender how much approximately the drink contained and she said about 6 mg for this drink and the other two drinks offered were 5 mg. I would get it next time for sure. I chose to have the pork belly to have a bite, and it was so tasty. The slaw and the pork belly went so well together, and it was a good combo of savory and sweet! On Fridays, they do have a DJ in the evening.I have not been on Saturday or Sunday to confirm if they do then but it definitely adds to the ambiance. She was great! Definitely a nice place to get together with friends, they do offer happy hour for drinks as well as an oyster special on Tuesdays. I know they have brunch menu, so maybe one day I'll be popping in for brunch to check it out.

Lamp and Shade was such a fun experience. The tapas-style menu is excellent, and the portions are…read moresurprisingly generous, so you get to try a variety of dishes without leaving hungry. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well done. One tip: make sure to check the very back pages of the drink menu -- that's where the specialty cocktails are hidden, and they're absolutely worth it. They also use a drink strength rating system, and trust the numbers -- they are very accurate. The atmosphere is great too. They play music inside, but it's at the perfect volume where you can still comfortably have conversations without yelling across the table. Between the food, drinks, and overall vibe, it made for a really enjoyable night out. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.
