After walking around the block, I finally remembered that it was downstairs close to World of Beer. I'd been walking about two miles from Lake Como, and after the walk, the dark and cool felt really amazing and I felt like I had stepped back in time with the 60's decor. Exactly what I was looking for! The bar had just opened as it was around 4pm in the afternoon so there was only one other person there. The other patron, the bartender and I had great conversation as we enjoyed the cool air and quietness. I had just come from a theme park where the price of a beer was $7.50 for a Bud Light, so the drink prices here were a welcome relief from the tourist areas. I let the bartender make me drinks of his choice so I could try new things and since it wasn't busy, he had the time to get creative. I left around 6pm and at that time only one other patron had come in, so it really was a chance to escape the crowds and enjoy the atmosphere. I can't speak to what its like when its busy, but if you need a place to get away and have an inexpensive drink and relax, Stardust is your place. read more

Great Service from Amy. Well proportioned cocktails made with legitimate care. Movies were highly humorous and entertaining in background. Great look. Leopard print pool tables and stripper pole in the middle can make for an interesting night. Only downfall was that there was an occasional ever so slight waft of sewage on the right side of the bar. I made a huge mistake coming to this bar as a place for my friend I haven't seen in 5 years to reunite with. Came here on a Thursday night, we were in good spirits starting out our night here, the bar was NOT very busy but we waited extremely long to order our drinks, on top of that the bartender was extremely rude. My friend and I decided to finish our drinks and not let her bad energy ruin our time and we still danced and chatted it up. We only stayed here a total of 45 min and the bar was empty by 11 pm. Then, the actual problem starts...the bartender "closed" our tabs and would not find our checks for us because her and her barback Chris said they automatically closed it out and added 20% gratuity. I repeatedly asked for a copy of my check which she did not provide. I was calm and friendly the entire time until they both started Yelling at me just because they didn't want to go through their receipts to give me a copy of what my charge was since I only bought 1 drink. I've worked in the hospitality industry for 6 yrs as a high volume bartender (which means weekends I would ring in 25k in a night club on my register alone) and I've never added my own tip without an authorized signature. I will never come here again and I've discouraged everyone else I know because of how I was treated by the bartender and barback on top of the unauthorized charges to my card. Great music, great décor, nice bouncer, and good drinks are all things I love. This has been my go to spot the last few months. I love that there is no cover and it's not usually too crowded but the music is what keep me coming back. The DJ's can go from Bon Jovi to Lady Gaga then Michael Jackson and then to The Black Eyed Peas. It's such a nice change from hearing the same songs over and over again. I also love dancing to songs from high school and college years. I recommend this place to every one I know. read more

This place has the worst customer service imagineable. We went to dance & they knew we were on the dance floor, yet they took our $12 martinis that were half full, along with 2 half full beers and cleared the table. Management was unwilling to remake drinks and told us "we learned a lesson". Wtf does that mean? Are you really supposed to take your drink out to the dance floor with you? Seriously?? They were innocuous to any wrong actions on their part and called security when we voiced dissatisfaction & disappointment, and demanded we leave. If you want to be ripped off for half of your over-priced drink by having it thrown away on you when you go to dance...then I recommend you go here. This is a downstairs basement cocktail bar located next to Lake Eola and a few popular places to hang out at like World of Beer and the wine place on the corner. It's my go to date place for getting tipsy in the dark and cuddling. There's not a bunch of 20 year olds dressed like hookers, more like older 20s-30s who live downtown and want some liquor, good music and to relax in a dimly lit low key place. They play dirty bingo on Tuesday where you win prizes like paddles from Fairvilla. They have pool tables in the back which is nice since it's excluded from people just wanting to have a drink and talk elsewhere. They have a small dance area and a long strip of a bar to sit at. Lots of choices for whatever you feel like doing. They have a tv in the corner so we watched a 1970s shit show of a James Bond movie and laughed. read more

This is a really nice pool/bar. Its underneath a building which makes it a lot more interesting. The decorations are setup real nice inside; it has a lounge type setup with plenty of seats. Sometimes they play music, sometimes they just have music in the background. The drinks are always great, never been unsatisfied. Drinks arent that expensive either. Its right by Lake Eola. The crowd is mixed, so you will see gay people, older people, younger people, etc. I went on February 4th and they had free pool from 4-8pm and 2.50 wells, 2.50 PBR til 9p. The bartender still let us play for free after 9p. Cant smoke inside which is cool because you dont come home smelling like tobacco. read more

Great underground lost treasure of the '60s (or so it seems). Friendly and attentive staff, reasonably priced drinks and a lengthy happy hour. You will find no smoking in this tastefully metro-man cave, but you will find free popcorn and live burlesque dances (on occasion - call early to reserve seats). Dino and Ol' Blue Eyes fill the TVs unless there's a sporting event worth watching, and the Jukebox free music selection can run the gamut. I've always walked past in the daytime and wondered what was inside this place. I figured it was either really dingy and gross or trendy and new. It ended up pleasantly surprising me with its gorgeous decor and great selection of 90s hip hop, reggae and rap music. Probably the worst experience in my adult life for entertainment. The manager of the Stardust was hanging and wrapped all over another bar tender to the point she thought it was cute. This is not the proper way to handle herself, as the manager..... The drinks that were made were crap and poorly constructed. My wife had to go to another bar tender to salvage this over priced drink. When we went to the dance floor we left our unfinished drinks on the table to dance. We came back the first time and our drinks were there. The second we went to dance and came back all of our drinks were removed from the table. Most the drinks were 1/3 full or over half full. When I went to the bar/manager tender she told me that the drinks were not full. After expressing to her that she was incorrect she proceeded to tell me that "I just got served a lesson- not to leave our drinks on the table". Well considering that we could see our drinks from the dance floor and we didn't want to spill them all over the dance floor while dancing. Yes I am aware of demented people put things into drinks these days but we did not see where the harm was this time. Once we established the lack of customer service I explained that we were dancing which she continued show her lack of experience as a manger or her customer service skills I was told to leave. After expressing again my dissatisfaction of the unprofessional courtesy I was escorted out of the establishment by security. I explained my situation to the security guy and he said that he agreed that I had been treated badly and he had to follow his managers wishes as she pays his paycheck. That I understood as well and left without incident. To those whom wish to patron this establishment I fore warn you when you order a drink first make sure the manage girl does not make it for you. Second hold onto it and dance with it if you can. If it spills on the floor it is ok they need something to do. Lastly, if you are a victim to the roaming manager table busser be prepared to either buy a new overpriced drink or be asked to leave cause you just learned a lesson - don't leave your drink on the table while dancing. What a shame this is the nature of this bar. I would not recommend this bar to anyone and will never patron this place ever again. read more

I never used to give this place any credit but it's actually a lot of fun. Hung out with a few of our neighbors here after the Food & Wine Festival at Lake Eola. They have tons of tables, booths, and seating at the bar. There's a room with pool tables in the back. The fact that it's underground it has a dark feel but there is also plenty of light. Stardust is a cool venue. Its under the city so it lit up decoratively. Drinks arent terribly expensive. Normally a mixed crowd. Can be very crowded or very dead depending on the night. Good place to have a brirthday party or after work get together. Pool tables are there. read more

Wow. Can't even give this place a fair rating because I was so rudely greeted and disrespected from the second I walked in that I had to walk out immediately. The owner, bartender, "everything" as she called herself was so incredibly rude. My friend and I walked in after going to world of beer at 1:15AM just to look around and see if we wanted to buy a drink. Right after we walked in and saw that we liked the feel of the place we asked a gentleman what time they closed and when he replied that he didn't work there another lady walked up that had been putting up stools. I proceeded to ask "Do you work here?" And she gave an attitude and said yes. Then I asked "Are you the bartender?" And she started (I kid you not) clapping in my face as she said "I'm the owner bartender everything" So I then, fairly put off but not AT ALL rude or confrontational trying to feel out the situation, asked, "do you guys close at 2?" The lady then I guess completely mistaking me for someone else goes "Yes didn't I already ID you guys earlier, what do you want?" And I said "no, this is my first time in here" and she goes "well what do you want", with such an attitude I was taken aback. I said "well honestly nothing because I don't like the treatment I'm receiving here" AND SHE MOCKS MY VOICE AND GOES "oh you don't like the treatment you're receiving here?!" I had just moved to Orlando so I didn't really know where to go as far as nightclubs and bars, a friend of mine chose stardust lounge, it's pretty much like a basement that you walk down into, the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, I had a amazing time. The music is what won me over. It was all 80s and 90s music, but the GOOD 80s and 90s. You just don't hear that kind of music anywhere anymore, much less a hipster bar. Great retro decor (Rat Pack Vegas meets the Jetsons), strong drinks and good people watching on the weekends. Although I prefer House/Downtempo, the music is never too annoying because of the variety. It can be a bit loud for chatting , but it is a bar you know. Maybe you should try tipping and you'll get good service! FYI, servers and bartenders make $2-3 dollars an hour and depend on your tips. Don't get beef with them if they don't serve you your second sex on the beach right away. At $8 a pop, they are being taxed on the 10% of sales you are not tipping. I always have a blast here. This is no college bar or club. It's more casual but the kind of place you really have fun at. They play music ranging from 80's to 2000's but will throw a newer song in once in a while so there's always a fun energy. The drinks are good and the shots are generous. If you're cool with a dark nightclub style place that isn't really a nightclub, you'll like this place. If you aren't into that, you're not going to be much of a fan. I tend to be more on the latter side and I'm generally not a fan of the music they have played on most nights I have been there (and it tends to be too loud for my tastes). It also is on the smaller side so the dance floor can get pretty crowded later at night. That being said, the drinks here are really good, especially the Moscow Mules. There are also some pool tables in the back area which are an added benefit. Overall a good, but not amazing, place to hit up at night. read more

Step off of Central Avenue and transport yourself into a retro little bar with the modern edge of seventies disco. It may be hard to find, look for Post Parkside and the dry cleaners above it and find the cement stairs around the corner leading down into this time warp. Its decor is red, red, and more red. Low stools of vinyl surround a round novelty fireplace. Booths and tables with low lighting hanging above from funky light fixtures. And a huge mural of the namesake surrounded in its own stardust infuse the back wall. The place gets crowded if you know when to go. Between 10-12 on a weekend, after this people escape back into the new millennium and disperse up Central to the next establishment of the night. I've also been there earlier on weeknights where myself and my companion were the only patrons in attendance. This could be due to Stardust's lack of advertising, promos weren't around in the seventies after all. But this little haunt does hold its own and draws all different types of clientele from the hipster to the trendsetter drinking everything from a signature martini to a can, yes can, of beer. Make your way around the wrap around bar to the back room which houses 2 pool tables usually in use. I like this bar, its a diverse take on your typical Orlando lounge. Its got good service and friendly bartenders, those hanging out there are of the laid back variety. Its always a good thing when more options are thrown into the run of the mill metro scene. read more
