This place is Honestly Amazing I love it so much their staff is respectful and they treat me like family

Use to be good. Has gone down the drain. The reduced hours due to covid they are milking. Literally forcing parents to pick kids up by 530pm. Who can get off to get to South Pearland at that time? Then of course they are charging exorbitantate fees for that.The amount of fees they charge for even breathing now is out of control. They already close every other week for something, don't offer any proration to your rate when they close, and then have the nerve to serve these kids jail food. Literally charging a late fee for turning in registration papers late when the due date was on new years eve. Legit stated they won't prorated anything even in the state of emergency BUT they have severely reduced the quality of severice since the pandemic. The irony. Nikita's attitude is still horrible. Not sure what happened to the magic of this place. Fees for everything, bad attitudes, and the hours not even accommodating. I had to move my child. read more

My child has attended Star Kids Academy since she was four months. She is three years old now. Their policies are very professional and transparent. The staff are very informative and always willing to answer and assist with questions or concerns. Their attentive care reflects on my child's behavior. She walks in and out with a smile, hugs the staff and enjoys time with her playmates. Love this place and appreciate their services! read more

My 8 month old and 5 year old attended Starkids for a couple of months in the summer of 2018. The directors were very professional and very kind. This was the baby's first experience in daycare, so I was nervous, but they did a great job. The price is affordable, and they give sibling discounts. They had the activity bus in the summer so the kids can exercise without being in the hot sun. The school is immaculately clean. They provide all of the meals for the kids which my 5 year old said was quite good. Overall, I had a good experience at Starkids. My only problem was that you drop them off and pick them up in the lobby which does not give you the opportunity to watch your child interact with their teacher and classmates. It is reassuring to me to be able to take a peek in the little world I entrust my child to every day. You can ask to go to the child's classroom, but I only did so once. People need to know the truth about Starkids Academy. I used to work there and while my experience as an employee made me feel demeaning I will focus this review on the children. I once saw Ms. Whitney get so frustrated with her student and saw her HARSHLY hit her 3 yr. old student with the student's big pencil (the ones the 3 yr. olds use) over her head a couple times. Another instance, the toddlers were sitting on the carpet and Mrs. Katrina literally grabbed the child from the back of her collared polo shirt, forcing the child to stand up...then gently but not so gently pushed her against the back of her hear to guide her into the restroom. This center has been reported. The parents on here that claim that the staff seems bothered by their presence are speaking 100% truth, because they HATE when parents visit. I cannot stand the work environment nor the school environment for the children. As a teacher, they rarely let me take my kids out for recess.......its like a freakin' jail in there. We LOVE Starkids!!! Our little guy has been there since he was 3 months old (he's 9 months now). He loves it there and they love him (along with the other children that attend, of course!). We have never had any issues at all. At least one of the owners is onsite at all times that the center is open. We get a daily "All About My Day", which lets us know exactly when and what he ate, what he learned about, and anything else that we need to know about. Its a wonderful place to learn and grow and we couldn't be more happy that we chose Starkids to keep our little guy! read more

I gave Starkids Academy an average review. My son began attending Starkids at 7weeks old. During the first 2 weeks, I visited with the center everyday on my lunch to moniter my son and the care given (they do not have cameras to watch from work or home and said they do not plan on investing in them). These visits apparently made the owners uncomfortable, as they soon told me that I could not be in the infant room, due to hazards. So, I politely "monitered" my son through square windows outside the infant room. One day, I also advised that I would be spending the afternoon with my son at the center to moniter the way that they were feeding him (he has reflux and needs to sit up 30min after feedings). I was suspicious that these instructions were not being followed because they only have 1 caregiver to 4 infants. The state requirement is 1 to 5, but this center initially told me that they have others workers that help out. The owner told me that I could NOT spend the entire afternoon with my son. I insisted that I do, because it doesn't make sense to tell a parent that they can not moniter their child. So, if you are a parent who wants to "pop up" and visit your child often, please keep this in mind. I had to moniter my son through small glass windows, in a narrow hallway, while the caregivers walked barefoot on the same carpet that they told me that I'm not allowed to walk on. (They do not wear foot covers). My next problem with the center is how they handle admin issues. Starkids require their payment on the Friday before the next week begins. There have been two times in which I did not pay on the Friday (both times were paid Monday morning before my son was dropped off). The first time, Starkids credit/debit machine was not working and I refused to go get that amount of cash on a Friday evening. They agreed that it was ok to pay them on Monday. The second time, my son had a doctor's appt on Friday and he did not attend. We do not live close to Starkids and thought it would be ok to pay on Monday. Well, on that Monday, I was hit with a late payment. Very fair. However, that evening, I looked in their policy manual, in which a.) it says nothing about a specific amount and b.) it says a late payment will be assessed on Tuesday at noon. This tells me that they just pulled this amount and rule from who knows where. The next morning, I showed the owners the verbage in the manual and they again, made up something about that pertains to when a "daily fee" would be assessed. I gave the center the late fee and teminated my son's enrollment the same day. Please know that its not about the $20 late fee. It was about being professional and not hitting someone with "hidden" fees that aren't posted ANYWHERE, not even on their fee schedule. I hope after my incident, they post this information and state to parents clearly WHAT AND WHEN late fees are assessed. I will say that I don't believe my son was abused or neglected in any way at the center. However, this is a new facility and I believe that it should be more moderized, as I've seen with other centers. Footcovers, cameras, debit/credit card reliability, etc. My son is now in a wonderful center, where I am welcomed anyday, anytime, AND they have cameras in which I can watch him from work. Wonderful company! Our child has been attending for 4 months now and just loves the staff! And so do we!!! He always has a smile on face!

My children have been at Star Kids Academy for over a year. I first heard about them from the school my daughter attended at the time. At the time I was having trouble finding reputable center after my Autistic daughter, who was let go after management changes from a long term center she attended. Unfortunately, Star Kids did not have space. Mrs. Katrina and Mrs. Nikita encouraged me to keep checking. And keep checking is what I did. They were always so professional and polite when I called. Well, after about 6 months on the waiting list, I was gearing up to start a new job, and I went in to check on the status, and my girls were able to get into the center. I must say that the staff has been nothing short of loving, patient, professional, kind, helping, and a host of other awesome things for me and my girls. They tell you the truth about your children, but are always seeking to partner with the parents to help the child be their best self. Their payment policy is no different than any other place I have taken my children. They are loving and compassionate, but they run a business. And I respect it! I will never leave Pearland, because of the service and care I receive here. read more
