Used starlight limo service once worst experience from beginning to end there customer service is awful

My husband and i have used Starlight Limo service both professionally and personally for over 20 years. To say that I am disappointed and angry would be an understatement. I had scheduled pick up for an 8 AM pick up at JFK. My flight from California was cancelled and then rescheduled to 6AM arrival at JFK. When I called to reschedule I was told that the weather was going to be iffy and 6AM was too early for them to get someone to pick me up. I had to take a shuttle to Grand Central, a train to Westchester, a bus back to Rockland and then walk home in the snow and ice from the bus stop. Thank you Starlight for leaving me stranded - JetBlue was the only company that didn't screw me over because of the weather. read more

My daughter has her senior prom so after being unable to find a price I had called them. When I called the man on the phone told me they no longer offer prom packages. Which is fine so I kinda said your website must be old I think it needs to updated and he immediately had a snippy attitude and hung up. I just called to request information on party buses and limos. I was unaware they do not do party buses or limo's anymore, but that is besides the point. I was rudely hung up on mid sentence and completely disregarded. It was the worst customer service I ever experienced. The way I was spoken to and dealt with was unnecessary and uncalled-for. I needed someone last minute and everyone was booked, so I checked out Starlight, with the good and bad reviews I was skeptical. I was never picked up at airport & needed to take a taxi home from Newark airport. Starlight told me the driver was there but I wasn't. They wanted to charge me for trip. I called credit card company and put in a dispute. The drivers were always late. Not reliable! read more

This is not a consistent service. Sometimes it's just fine, but when it's bad, it's awful. Although the driver is supposed to be waiting at the terminal when you arrive, often it is me who is waiting endlessly for the driver. More than once he has been at the wrong terminal. One time they arrived a night early, and sent endless texts to my phone trying to figure out where I was. Drivers often have no clue how to get where they are going. Even with a GPS. The owner is nasty and it's never their fault. Our company uses them so I have no choice for business trips, but if you are contemplating using this company for your personal needs: DON'T. read more

DON'T BOOK WITH THEM We will be filing with the Better Business Bureau! The pros: The limos arrived earlier than their booked time. THE CONS: 1) Impossible Customer Service, and based off of other reviews, I believe the only reason why they were there on time is because of my MULTIPLE phonecall games/emails/faxes that I sent in the weeks leading up to my wedding. 2) Nuo (limo driver) charged us more money than what was in the contract. He ignored the contract copy that we gave him, and said, "This limo will not LEAVE this spot until I get what I want." He was RUDE and BELLIGERENT. VERY unprofessional, especially when surrounded by professional vendors on a wedding day. 3) THE LIMO DRIVERS did not have the ADDRESSES of any of our locations!!!! 4) THE LIMO DRIVERS did not have GPS units! WE HAD TO GIVE HIM DIRECTIONS! The last two points are particularly irksome. How can a company that charges it's clients this much money NOT give their drivers the paperwork that WE filled out with our location/times? And then, NOT give them GPS units?? Plus, the drivers were not familiar with the location. We -the bride and groom, and the parents- had to yell directions out through the partition. VERY unprofessional. Reader, DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE with their LOW PRICES or 20% GOOGLE DISCOUNT. Go for somebody that costs a bit more... but might actually have GPS units in their vehicles. I have used starlight for over 10 years, there service and drivers are 5 star. There is no reason to ever settle for less.

My son and his friends booked Starlight for their Sr. Prom. Car showed up on time, driver never got out to open the doors for the ladies, but did get out to collect his cash. Driver proceeded approx.13 miles to the location arriving approx. 15-20 min before the doors opened. The guests asked him to take them for pictures by the river less than 2 miles away. The driver refused, stating he had to be elsewhere and was running late. Although disappointed the 4 couples exited the limo and waited for the prom doors to open. (nobody wants to be the first person to arrive, forget about 15 min early) Driver left without leaving any contact # should the group choose to depart early. Driver shows up with a different car to pick them up, the rear smells of alcohol. The guests are all transported to their desired destinations as planned. After hearing of their disappointing experience I called Tuesday morning hoping for some satisfaction. I was told that the brakes went out on the limo and the driver drove 45 min to Rockland and 45 minutes back. I was told he did not have elsewhere to be. When I suggested that the guests were disappointed and should receive some form of refund, Dan the "manager" told me I was putting money over the value of the fact that our kids arrived home safely. If it was only about a safe ride I would have driven the kids in my own car. $619.25 for a dream trip to the Prom.... I think not. Then later in the day Dan returned a call to another parent(whose son actually booked the car in his name) he yelled at that father and told him he didn't give a crap about Proms and hung up the phone.
