I love the staff at Starlight nails. I first met them at their last shop in Temple City near my house and they've always done a beautiful job! I've been having Tina do my gel manicure and she does such an amazing job EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! Her attention to detail, gentle manicure style and painting precision are unmatched! That's why I followed them to Thor new spot here in Pico Rivera. Also the shop is always clean and the pricing is very fair. They have a huge selection of top quality colors and chromes. Kody and staff are all always very nice to me!

I've been a loyal client of Kody and Mai for over 16 years, ever since they opened their very first salon in the San Fernando Valley. I've followed them to their second location and now to their beautiful salon at Starlight because they're simply the best. That should tell you everything--you don't stay with a nail salon for 16 years unless they're consistently amazing. I even drive from Palmdale, and now that I spend time in San Francisco, I still make it a point to come back whenever I can because no one else compares. Kody and Mai have built an incredible team. Tina, Ana, and Mai are all exceptionally talented and take so much pride in their work. The chair had a massager which was an added bonus. The ladies there are very efficient and don't waste any time. My feet look and feel alot better. I actually never received any calls, texts, or emails from them.The receptionist claimed they couldn't leave me a voicemail. I seriously doubt they ever tried to contact me to reschedule! There was no other sugarist who could wax me, the only option they gave me was to reschedule me for a different date. There's nothing ruder than wasting someone else's time! This could have easily been avoided and they could have retained a customer if they didn't drop the ball with communication.

I've been coming here since they switched ownership at this location in April and to say as a male Mai (the owner) make this place very welcoming, Mai always makes sure that you're getting taken care of as well as offering waters and really good candies. I had came in for pedicure but I asked if they worked with ingrowns and she set me up right away with Tina which was amazing. She did an awesome job with taking care of them without hurting me I could not stop thanking her! She left my toes looking fresh and clean! I haven't gotten a pedicure done from anyone else or anywhere else she really knows her stuff! I also do come for manicures every other week and I'd say everybody here does a good job taking care of me with that. I'd also recommend their scrub they have for both hands and feet it works really good for dry skin just a personal opinion. But overall 5 STARS!!! I'd definitely give them a chance if you're skeptical and are looking for a new nail place to try out, they'll definitely take care of you well. read more

After having a TERRIBLE experience at another nail salon last month, I decided to come here because it's down the street from my house and because it had so many positive reviews. I came in asking them to remove the gel and dip that the other place butchered. The lady removed it with ease and pain- free! I usually dread going to salons to get anything removed because it always hurts. After the removal, she gave me a manicure. It was the best manicure I've ever had lol only because they always cut or burn me at other places. After the removal and manicure, another girl applied the dip powder on my natural nails and applied a gel polish. I am obsessed with my nails! Will definitely come back :) read more

I've been coming to starlight for almost two years now and I always enjoy my experiences every time. The customer service is good, the employees are super friendly and always do a super good job recreating my inspirations (I always get acrylics). This nail place is amazing! Everyone is super friendly, kind, professional. This is my go to place for nail service. I will definitely recommend friends and family here. The place is really clean and restroom is clean as well. They offer waxing services as well. Mai the nail technician is the one did my nails and feet. She is really good! During my pedicure, the nail technician scrubbed the side of my foot so aggressively that she caused a painful wound and broke the skin. I told her that she was hurting me, but she continued to scrub aggressively. The photo I've attached shows the injury caused during the service. The pedicure was also supposed to include a 7-minute deep-tissue foot massage, which I did not receive. She lightly rubbed my feet for approximately one minute instead. The water was also extremely cold. I asked her to make it warmer, but she did nothing. After the service, I explained that I was unhappy with the experience and asked for some Neosporin because my foot had been injured. Instead, she poured rubbing alcohol directly onto the open wound without warning, which was extremely painful. I had originally planned to get a manicure as well, but after having the worst pedicure of my life, I decided against it. Despite the injury and the services that were not provided, she still expected me to pay the full price for the upgraded pedicure. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the technician became extremely confrontational and began yelling at me. She accused me of having been there before and claimed that I had previously complained about the color. I told her that I had never been to this salon before, but she continued insisting that I was lying. She then turned around and loudly told both the other employees and customers in the salon that I had been there before and was lying. I was publicly and falsely accused of lying and yelled at in front of everyone simply for expressing my concerns about the service. I have never experienced anything like this at a nail salon. Not only was I physically injured during the service, but I was also verbally attacked and publicly humiliated when I tried to express my concerns. The entire experience was incredibly upsetting and anxiety-inducing. The photo attached is the injury I received during the pedicure. I would strongly recommend avoiding this salon. I do not feel that the service I received was safe, professional, or acceptable.
