I had a 10:00 AM appointment with Paul Tartas due to a check engine light. I arrived before 10, but Paul didn't see me until around 10:20. After running the diagnostic and saying they had "identified" the issue, he asked me to email him a copy of my extended warranty before they could proceed. I sent it at 11:00 AM. I asked how long it would take since I needed to go to work, and he told me "a couple of hours" and asked me to wait in the lobby, saying he would let me know. [[HIGHLIGHT]]By 1:00 PM, I still had no update. I went to the front desk to ask Paul how much longer it would take, and he asked me if I had already sent the warranty copy, saying they couldn't start without it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I explained that I had sent it at 11:00 AM and had been waiting for two hours as instructed, and that I now needed to leave for work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of acknowledging the mistake, he simply told me to calm down and said a driver could take me to work and pick me up later.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In a rush, I agreed and explained that I get off work at 5:00 PM. He said it wouldn't be a problem. At 4:00 PM, I texted to remind him. At 4:30 PM, he said a driver was on the way. By 6:00 PM, no one had arrived (it's about a 30-minute drive). My workplace had already closed, and I had been waiting for over an hour. He then said it wasn't his fault and offered to send me an Uber. When I finally got back, they handed me my car. Two days later, the check engine light came back on. When I returno, even though my Chevrolet app still showed "Check Engine - Emission System," Paul told me it was a different issue and suggested that maybe I needed to change the battery. This has been the worst experience I've ever had at a Chevrolet dealership. I know not all dealers are like this--I bought my car at a different Chevrolet dealership where the service has always been efficient, but unfortunately that one is in New Jersey. Never was told it is cash or debit only, so had to pay $227 "surcharge" on a $7500 engine replacement. I had a good sale experience but then service was terrible with Starling Chevrolet after my new Equinox EV broke down only after 6 days of owning it. * Purchase: I bought a new Equinox EV on May 20, 2025. The sales process was painless, price agreed by phone, quick paperwork, and I drove home happy. * Breakdown: Just six days later (May 26) the car shut down after a super-charging stop on my way from Orlando to Gainesville. It wouldn't start, shift, or even go into Neutral and had to be towed back to Starling Chevrolet. * Diagnosis confusion: Service first said it was a 12-volt battery. Later, a different advisor told me it was actually the high-voltage battery, news I learned only because I kept chasing updates. * Parts & delay: The replacement HV battery arrived June 16. I was told it was a "one-day job" and should be done by June 18. Instead, the car sat while (per staff) a Cadillac was worked on first and a lift was out of service. * Communication problems: - Almost every status update required MY phone call. - Promised call-backs rarely came; I was even disconnected a couple of times. - On multiple days (June 18, 21, 24) I learned the car hadn't been touched and got a new "target" date. * Escalation: Only after involving manager Noel did work finally start. He said it would be ready Friday, June 27, yet I received no confirmation until I texted him late that day. I picked the car up June 28: 33 days in the shop. * Missing paperwork: No repair order was given at pickup. GM asked me for it to process goodwill compensation. I emailed/texted Noel three times and GM made two formal requests. Starling provided the RO only on July 8. Bottom line I spent five weeks making my own phone calls and sending my own follow-ups just to learn when my new car would be fixed and to get the paperwork afterward. The repair was eventually completed, but the constant silence in between left me with little confidence in Starling Chevrolet's service department. I ordered new OEM rotors and brake pads for my Corvette. I paid a person to come to my house to put them on (Saturday). He realized the rear brake pads were the wrong size. I called the dealership and they took over an hour to tell me they had the correct pads but the person I hired was already finished. I asked if the dealership would be able to put the new pads on for free since it was their fault I received the wrong ones. They said they had to wait until Monday to talk to the manager. I called the dealership Monday and they said they don't have the pads in stock and they would have to be ordered. They ordered them but I never received a message they came in. Two weeks later I called to check and the parts person said he asked a lady to call me. The dealership said they would not replace the pads for free and normally charge $250. The person that came to my house the first time charged $100. Absolutely horrendous customer service. I will never buy anything from this dealership or any of their affiliates again - including a new Corvette. They should know Corvette owners are brand loyal. read more

It was a pretty simple 7,500 mile service so oil change, check filters etc and I figured an hour, an hour and a half......wrong 3 hours later I am still sitting here waiting for it to be done. No bueno Starling! I thought I had to wait so long for service was because you were shorthanded and rather than over schedule you were just scheduling what your technicians could handle and again I was wrong. Needless to say I am not happy to sit in your waiting room for over 3 hours for a simple service appointment. I traded in my 2017 Bolt for a 2020. Starling Chevy was required by GM; I assume pursuant to the battery recall issues; to advise me of the 80% charge limitation in place for the next 10,000km on the 2020 Bolt I was buying. I had mistakenly assumed that, like my 2017, the battery had been replaced, not as it were, subjected to a charge limitation. Had I been advised of this charging limitation, as Starling was obliged to do, I would not have purchased the car. I have never received any response to my phone calls to the salesman or my calls and emails to the sales manager, much less any effort to make it right. There are many Chevy dealerships. He continued to check on the part which is still on back order. The car quit working a few weeks ago and the part is still on back order. On 10/28/22 at 4 am in the middle of nowhere in Georgia, my dash lit up with every warning available and a bad lifter noise. I limped my 1-month-old Tahoe into Orlando. I called every dealership from Daytona to Tampa, but the earliest service appointment I could find was on Nov 17th. I didn't know what I was going to do. I had a brand new vehicle with engine issues and I'm 900 miles from home and have no idea what I would do. On that Saturday morning, I took a chance and drove my vehicle to Starling Chevrolet. I was greeted by Rafael Ceballos at the service desk. He was sorry to hear my story and told me he would have it diagnosed within the hour. Unfortunately, my vehicle was one of many affected by the lifter problems. He said they could have me back up and running by Tuesday or Wednesday. He had already reserved a rental car and had my paperwork ready when he told me the bad news. He called me on Wednesday and told me they had to replace 8 lifters and a bent pushrod, but my car was ready to be picked up. Dishonest Dealership. Dropped off my 2018 Sierra for service as it was making bad sounds after a long road trip. Jesse informed me that they were limited on what they could do to it because of rust on the suspension. They recommended I take it to a 4x4 shop. 4x4 Parts found the problem immediately as both of my hubs were extremely worn out making it unsafe to drive. What they didn't find was rust. Starling Chevy not only had zero moral guilt sending me out in an unsafe vehicle but lied to me about a rust issue when ultimately they didn't want to work on it because of a measly six inch lift. It again I find myself in the position of having to give a Single star to a company that doesn't even deserve that. The Steeler ship is one of the worst. I drive a 2016 Chevy Spark EV... I got it used 2 1/2 years ago with 25k miles on it. the car has been Great* the entire time (* my wife will disagree of this assessment mainly because it's a small battery on electric car so it doesn't have a good range but all that considering no issues otherwise) Six months ago of a sudden the car with 5 miles left on the range freaks out on me and comes to a halt I won't allow me to charge it or do anything! I tow it to a charger with no success! I tow it to this dealer and they tell me the whole battery needs to be warranty replaced... "five weeks later" i'm told that the battery does not need to be replaced and that they've reset the computer and all is good! From that moment forward the car would not DC charge the battery at full capability anymore. In fact it would never charge at a rate greater than 14 kW... quadruple in the amount of time it takes to charge. Six weeks ago the car did it again only this time with 14 miles left on the charge... I take it back to them and ask them to replace the battery as they once said they would. Instead they had again reset the computer claim that are incapable of getting the same result out of the car as I did and they told me to come pick up the car... after six weeks of getting nearly nothing from them they charge me $110 for the favor! Thanks for nothing! I will likely never own a Chevy again and neither should you with everything going on with their EV's from lawsuits to catching on fire, I would suggest never buying one. Starling Chevrolet continues to disappoint as I have now had multiple bad experiences. Without question there is no customer service or organization to their madness. It is chaotic and you will stand there for 15 minutes as employees walk in and out staring at the forming lines. Every employee appears to busy and seems inconvenienced by your business. During my last visit I was talked down to for having come in without a mask on, as I could see multiple people in the lobby employees included that were not wearing masks. This was after I was fully vaccinated and it was not required anymore. And now this weekend I experienced the same types of issues. It took over 40min to check my car in for service. During that time it was made it very clear that my fluids never get topped off at this location and even went as far to tell my rep and put it into the notes to ensure it was completed. Alas, after $1300 in repairs, oil change, tire rotation, etc, My fluids still were not topped off. It is STILL completely empty. I came here and ever since then, I have been back three times. Seems like things keep going wrong ever since I let them touch my vehicle. My most recent time, I got my brakes fixed and I was on vacation and my brakes completely gave out on me, risking my life. I'm not having any luck with this place right now. I say this with them still having my vehicle in their possession. I got a flat tire by screw on Friday morning. After a tow truck picked me up and took me to this location things started off good, I got created right away, I was able to have the tow truck driver drop it off at a close spot and to their word they got my car back their within 2hrs. This is rare when you just walk in, usually you need an appointment at any dealership. After that they notified my that my tire can't get patched so they were looking around for a tire. I have a new 2023 Chevy bolt web and my tires are under Warrenton so I understand it has to be a certain tire. They told me that nobody in the unidirectional area had my tire and they would have to order one that could arrive in 2 days and I could get it fixed and back on the road. Not realizing at first that would be Sunday, I called back on Saturday to double check and figure out out. I was then told that they had to order my tire through GM and they would receive it in 2-5 business days making it sometime between Monday and Thursday now. I didn't get any update yesterday (Monday) so I texted my maintenence contact to get an update. She then texted me saying that since they had to order the tire, that it was shipped but they were waiting on the tracking information. You told me Friday you had it ordered, again on Saturday that it was ordered and now it's Tuesday and you still don't have tracking information? I under full time and it's my only job and I would be fine if things were fitting together, but it's like they don't even care. I'm not paying for this because it's under warranty, so you would think they would want to get my car out of their dealership to get stuff in that they'll make money off of. Also, when did businesses stop carrying about the customer. I know this isn't the dealership, but when did cars stop coming with Jack's and spare tires making the consumer pay another $500 to have one? We were in the Orlando area on a school field trip, when we got in our car to start our 4 hour drive home, a power steering warning light came on in our Chevy which is still under warranty. Not wanting to take any chances since we had our two very young kids with us, we decided to take it to the nearest Chevy dealership to have it looked at. I explained the situation to our service advisor, we just needed to know if this was something very minor where we could drive the car and take care of it when we got home at our dealership, or if it was a major repair and we needed to start making arrangements to stay overnight (hotel reservation, etc). It only took them 3 and half hours to diagnose our car! After which I was told that there was nothing wrong with the steering system, but there were a few codes popping up that meant the engine had a misfire so the mechanic recommended to do the fuel injector services that is usually done at 30K miles. So my first question was since this is a service that you are recommending, and not a replacement or repair, can we just drive home and take care of it later? Their answer was "We dont know". So my second question was, this is covered under the warranty right? Their answer was "no, cause it is a service not a repair". I tried telling them that regardless of what it is, my car is under warranty, so w/e needs to be done to correct the issue, should be covered, but they wouldn't bulge, so again not wanting to take any chances we paid the $400 and waited the additional hour and a half. So after 5+ hours at the dealership, with two young kids, I just feel that there was 0 human element or empathy, and instead we were taken advantage of given our situation. Our kids were there in the play room and lobby for 5+ hours and not once did anybody come to ask us if we needed anything, nor did our advisor make any effort to give us updates or make us feel taken care of, on the contrary we had to chase after her.
