Wonderful. This was my second time here, and it was consistently great! The bathroom and the diner, like last time were spotless clean. Kayleigh was there, like last time, and she was just great! Service and food here is really excellent. I had the salad bar again, it was the same items plus some surprises, like a Russian salad and pickled beets, yummy! The soups were chicken pasta, split pea, and pepper pot. The ladies were great about finding out ingredients. I got to meet the owner! He's a great guy, too. Just an overall warm, welcoming, relaxing place. They're close to motels and hotels, so there are people from all over stopping by, and there are lots of regulars who are hooked. You can tell why. You feel like it's another era. Lots of free parking. Salad bar food was fresh and delicious. Nice to smell freshly brewed coffee. read more

I stayed at Staybridge Suites in Allentown, and the diner (fortunately open 24/7) was only two blocks away. The menu is a throwback to the 60's and 70's, lol. I was gobsmacked to see "Liver and Onion," which was the bane of my childhood. Yuck! I asked whether people actually ordered it, and apparently it's quite popular. Amazing. There are NO gluten-free bread, pasta, or baked dessert items. So I ordered a Monterey Chicken Sandwich with no bread, and a side of fruit salad, to go. Got back to the hotel, and there was a very thin piece of chicken breast topped with a huge piece of ham and melted cheese, accompanied by naked lettuce, tomato, and a slice of onion. Sigh. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. And there was no fruit salad. I called them and said that I didn't get it, and could I please pick it up in the morning? They very graciously said yes. Looked at my receipt, and no side was listed. That's why I didn't get it--he didn't note the order. I didn't want fries because I had some at lunch. This is a real middle-America diner. Nothing fancy, except the desserts, which looked incredibly delicious and made me sad. The salad bar was kind of scary. Lots of goopy things drenched in white stuff. Not a lot of healthy raw veggies, although there were empty bins that may have held them earlier. It's a nicely-decorated place, and they have GNOMES!! I didn't go in the lounge area, since I just got takeout and went back to the hotel. Service was very nice, polite, and friendly. read more

Adorable diner! We stopped in around 9 PM while traveling through PA, and everyone we encountered -- from the hostess to the waitress -- was incredibly polite and welcoming. The food was classic diner fare. I ordered the BLT, which was a little smaller than expected but still tasty, and it came with a pickle and a side of Lay's potato chips. My boyfriend had one of their paninis with fries, and the fries were perfectly crispy! We didn't try the salad bar, but it looked clean and well-stocked when we walked by. read more

I would NOT go here again. How can you mess up breakfast? The service was average at best, the food quality was poor and the atmosphere is like a 70 year old casino. It's accessible to many of the major roads, has plenty of parking so I can see why the location gets business. I would not return. The shocking thing is in this area there is only one decent breakfast place and it was closed on Monday... so you'd think a second GOOD breakfast option would be a NICE alternative ! Oh well. Beautiful diner and decor. We stopped here for lunch. Nice menu, friendly waitress. We ordered an albacore tuna melt with fries, a burger with cup of soup and fruit salad. Did not ask how I liked my burger, it came out dry and chewy and very well done. The cream of cheesesteak was very good. The fruit salad tasted old and not sweet. The tuna melt good, but not albacore in taste, texture or color. The fries very good and crunchy. Not the best lunch we had but we were hungry and ate what we could. read more

The server was very attentive and super nice. The atmosphere was very home feeling. It was nostalgic to go back to this place after I moved several years ago out of PA. The food was just okay. So I work driving big rigs and I call ahead to go pick up my food before I get to my truck because I can quite get to the diner in a truck. I Called three times and someone finally answered just to put me on hold for 30 mins. I hung up and called 7 times and no answer. I finally drove up there and there were about 5 employees doing nothing. I didn't even order anything because by this point I didn't have the time to wait for my food to be made. It sucks because as a truck driver we don't have very many options for food at the hours of 10pm to midnight. I just wanted to see how busy it was.... It wasn't. Horrible customer service. And before people say I can make my food at home, must not know the trucking business. Most times I have mere hours to sleep and so I get what I can. read more

Lentil soup, chicken with orzo soup, pepper pot soup and beef, barley & mushroom soup were pretty good. Salad bar always had fresh vegetables. Rachel panini sandwich was good. Crab Cakes were delicious and very good when served fresh. Atlantic Haddock and Rice Pilaf were good. French fries were so good with broiled haddock on another day. Salmon was very good, mashed potatoes were good with salmon. Tried Shrimp Scampi with Linguine pasta once. Brother enjoyed Monterey Chicken, and Salmon with Rice. Pumpkin cheesecake was good, tapioca pudding was okay. They used to serve a delicious chocolate ice cream; not sure what brand it was or if they still serve it. read more

Food is great. Service was not good. We started off wanting a Diet Coke, we didn't know it was Pepsi products. Waitress brought us back a Diet Pepsi, so we requested a juice instead. She went back and muttered something about how too many people are asking for diet today... we got an apple juice, there was floating pieces at the bottom. Asked for a water, received no apology, just annoyance. The food is solid, though. There was however, a hair in my fries. At this point of the meal, I didn't even complain. The Starlite is clean with a kind, professional, and very active wait staff. If you are concerned about using a salad bar post-COVID, they not only offer hand sanitizer, but an employee keeps the entire area clean - by the second. (In that salad bar, they have their own freshly made carrot salad, which is the best I have had since Bamburger's in Newark, New Jersey - some 30 years ago.) I have never been to a diner that made salmon so perfectly! It was light, fresh, and not over-cooked. The bartender even crafted an excellent martini. And the tiramisu cake as well as the limoncello were fantastic and not overly sweet. This is my new favorite diner and I cannot wait to go back! read more

From the friendly, attentive service to the totally yummy soup and salad bar (I'd go every week just for that) to the generous serving sizes of the entrees, it was all fantastic. One hint, if you order the turkey (yummy!), ask for brown gravy. It was a better match, in my opinion, than the turkey gravy. Next time we're in PA, we'll be back to eat at Starlite. read more

Food good but slow. Eggs Benedict, on special, had been sitting under a heat lamp so long the yolk was solid. No coffee refill for 20 minutes, which wasn't too disappointing since the coffee was old, bitter, and cold, not unlike myself. I had a great experience here! First of all, the old school diner atmosphere is GREAT. Giant fish tank, jukeboxes at each booth soooo cool! All employees were friendly. We didn't have to wait at all, there is a lot of seating. Only about 10 minute wait for food. Good coffee, fresh ingredients and nice portions. Price is normal for a diner and worth it for the quality. We all enjoyed our breakfasts. I love that you can exchange a big fruit cup for homefries without extra cost. Bathrooms are clean and pretty nice/upgraded more than I was expecting. We will hit this place more as we head to the Poconos! I would like to try out their lunch/dinner buffet. Update: 8/2/20 - Still a great experience even though they have a smaller menu due to COVID-19. Employees are very kind. As always, food was excellent. read more

This is a very solid diner option located very close to I-78. Our waitress was very kind and patient in answering all of our questions. I enjoyed my chicken parm, and my boyfriend liked his buffalo chicken wrap. My meal came with access to a soup and salad bar which I appreciated.
