A pitcher of delicious booze, forgot the name.. but a pitcher of booze!

We were on our way home from DragonCon and stopped at the douglasville exit on a whim. Yelp reviews were really convincing so despite it looking like a dive. I am so glad we did! This place is a treasure. The chef really knows his stuff, especially when it comes to Caribbean food. We had a pitcher of mixed drinks which wins big points in my book! Considered a Hookah but passed this time, love that it's an option though. Now to the food, she got the salmon burger and I had the Jerk chicken plate. The burger was good and fries were fresh but the story was the Jerk chicken. Holy cow! Best I've had outside of Jamaica. I wish I was still eating it. It was served with delicious sides; sautéed cabbage, rice and beans and fried plantains. It was all fire and went together so well with the chicken. I am sad that this place is so far from me because I want more!

Ok so the first time I attempted to go here, I went off the hours on their website and they were wrong. I should've just went with the hours on Google and Yelp. I went again and it was such a cool, mellow spot. A couple of my girls and I had reservations for 6 on a Friday (which we really didn't need) and I was seated right away. We all ordered the Blackened salmon and it was delicious. The spinach was more of a dip, give us some chips and we would've been good. We had the Galaxy Punch but ordered it in a pitcher which was perfect for the three of us and much cheaper than ordering individual drinks. The punch was the business too. Very tasty. Being that this is near me, I'll def be back!

Good stop for brunch! Location has plenty of parking. Nice ambiance! Wasn't crowded, prices are reasonable. Music videos on all wall monitors, why was great for me, since I never get to watch videos at all. Bar: Coffee Drink with Whiskey, requested by me! Bartender delivered Mimosa, not a hit! Definitely has too much juice. We had two and I could finish the second drink.. Sugary Server: Forgot her name! However she was good as well, extremely patient. I will be stopping by again. Thank you!

I give it a 9/10. Came on an early Saturday night!! The food is everything I ordered the Blackened salmon and my partner had the Oxtails. We had no complaints concerning the food, it was plated nicely, nice sized proportions and delicious as shit!! The vibe was good had a good Dj spinning a mix of old school, African, and other urban hip hop. Service was ok no complaints!

We're new to the area so we've been trying different spots. I have to say, this is by far one of the best lounge experiences I've had. We went on a Friday night around 8 and were able to get an amazing booth. Our waitress was delightful and attentive. The food was OFF THE CHARTS GOOD. My partner was practically eating the bones off the lamb chops . The hookah starr flavor was also really good. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a laid back vibe with a great dj, great service, amazing food, and tasty hookah. 10/10 we'll probably go here every weekend now.

My love and I decided to try somewhere new for our 6 year anniversary. Big mistake. We should have stuck to the rivers and lakes we were use to. The music was a vibe. We ordered our drinks and food, which is on the high end of average pricing, and waited about 45 minutes with very few people in the restaurant and most everyone already eating. I received my food and began to nibble on the items on my plate while waiting for his food to arrive as well. After 10 minutes of nibbling, I asked the waitress if his food was coming. She stated the kitchen was backed up because they had to go orders too. I then began to eat slowly because my food was getting cold. I then watched 2 parties who came at least 30 minutes after we did, each get one plate leaving the others without food. After another 12 minutes and me being completely done with my food, his comes out. Halfway through his meal he finally received his sweet tea. I asked to speak to a manager who stated he would ask about what happened. He never returned. The waitress even gave us a ticket that wasn't ours. The food and music was good so that's why I give them 2 stars but as far as communication, service, and basic knowledge to bring out plates one TABLE at a time... 0.

My son brought my mom and I here for Sunday brunch. We got there right at opening. We were promptly greeted by a very friendly young lady. The food took a few minutes longer than what I expected. However, once it came out, I realized why. Everything was made fresh. I was literally in awe at how good it was. I think I did a little happy dance. My son had shrimp and grits and it was probably the best I've ever tasted. He's a bit of a food snob and was very impressed. I had the crab cakes Benedict and all I can say is I wanted to slap my mama. During our meal, the chef came out and thanked us for coming. SFL is a welcomed addition to Douglasville and I will definitely return.

The food here is absolutely amazing, some of the best tasting food I've ever tasted, service was great, it took a lit while for us to receive our appetizer and entrees but trust me it was definitely worth the wait!!!

The presentation was wonderful. Oxtails was well seasoned and suckulant. A bit pricey but you get t Your money's worth!

My husband and I were looking for a black-owned restaurant in Douglasville. We found Starr Food Lounge on a Map search. The food was very good with a nice presentation. The dishes were all ample portion sizes. The service was good as well. The downfall is the decor. The table clothes were plastic with burn holes as well as the seats. If the restaurant enhanced their decorations to match the food, it would be five stars. We will definitely return for the food.

To start, my sister and I had the hella good and social cocktails and both were perfectly balanced. We had the mussels which were fantastic and the crabcake was phenomenal! It was seriously the best crab cake I've had in years - and we're from Maryland. The lamb was seasoned well and cooked to a perfect medium rare and the grits were to die for. The lobster fried rice was also super yummy! We also tried the espresso martini and the strawberry pearltini and those were both on point! Honestly, this was the first new restaurant I've tried in awhile where I was impressed by every dish and drink. Bonus is the prices were very reasonable for the quality! We will be back

This is a Small seafood spot that has apparently been known to have food food. I went and I only…read moredrank so I can't speak on that. So let's cover the ambience and service. Again,it's small venue: you really shouldn't come here with a slew of people if you can help it. They have some outdoor seating as well, but not a lot, so you don't want to count on that, but it's kind of intimate. The bar fits maybe six to eight seats at most, and the general seating probably no more than 20 people. It's in a shopping center area, so it's free parking when you go, and there's a number of other things there. You could easily start with this spot and then go to a show and then end up in a cigar lounge, so at least that's a little bit of flexibility. I had the House malbac which was pretty good. I'm looking around, though, and I noticed that the food looks amazing. It made me feel bad for not eating, LOL. Everybody says that it is good, but I just can't speak on it. It looks amazing, so I wanted to make sure I say that. I sat at the bar, and the bartenders kind of were in and out. There were maybe four people at the bar aside from myself. The bartenders kept disappearing, so I wasn't sure about the whole service component with this place. Once you get their attention, you're good, but it just seemed like there were a lot of disappearing acts. I gotta give them grace because it looked like the bartender was dropping off food as well, so I can't wholly take off for that because it looks like they had him doing double duty. If you're into seafood and you want some crab cakes or some salmon, you should probably at least take a look at the menu. It's a good stop-off point, so I would definitely suggest giving it a shot if you're in the area.

The food was excellent, the drinks were on point, and our waitress did an awesome job handling such a large party. She stayed on top of everything and made sure we were taken care of all night. After dinner, we decided to check out the speakeasy through the freezer door--Eleanor's--and unfortunately, that's where the experience took a turn. The atmosphere itself was nice--semi-dark with a cool concept--but it could definitely lean more into a darker, more immersive speakeasy vibe. The bigger issue, though, was the service. It was night and day compared to upstairs. The waitress came across as rude and unwelcoming from the start. A few of us sat down in a small corner area with an L-shaped bench and some extra chairs we had to pull over ourselves. Obviously, with 12 people, there was no way we were all fitting there, yet she insisted she wouldn't take any drink orders until everyone was seated. That made no sense, especially since there was standing room and even a bar-height table available. To make matters worse, there was zero acknowledgment of the birthday--not even a simple "happy birthday," which felt like a missed opportunity given the occasion. When we asked about Fireball shots, the response was a blunt "um, no," followed by "you can have water," as she started filling glasses. That pretty much summed up the vibe we got. Not sure if this is typical service down there or just an off night, but it was enough to make us decide we wouldn't come back to the speakeasy. Bottom line: If you're in the area, definitely check out Muss & Turner's for dinner--it's worth it. But I'd skip Eleanor's and save your time and money.
