This is our favorite spot to go for Friday night date night, you haven't lived until you've tried the roasted duck! The bartenders are excellent and present us with our drink drinks very quickly. Fantastic dinner at Gabe's during Thanksgiving week while visiting family in Villa Rica! Some things to note - reservations aren't really a thing. You can call ahead to leave your name and party size, but quick seating is not guaranteed. On a Tuesday night, we had to wait about 10 minutes for a party of six. The atmosphere is very nice - good lighting with the bar taking the center of the restaurant. I believe they also have a few event spaces attached! Our server, Gabe (not to be confused with THE Gabe) was great, able to make recommendations and friendly for the entirety of our meal. We started with the Cajun egg rolls, oysters, and calamari with the house bread and butter. The table enjoyed all the appetizers, with the Cajun egg rolls being the hit! For dinner, we ordered the ribeye, pork chop, seafood étouffée, burger, and shrimp pasta. Everything was outstanding. The étouffée and ribeye, in particular, were fantastic. I don't like seafood and I could eat an entire bowl of the étouffée because of the flavor alone. The ribeye with Demi glacé was exceptional. For dessert, we chose the bread pudding and the cheesecake. The cheesecake is a whole mini basque cheesecake that comes with a seasonal sauce topping. It was a bit dry, even with the crème anglaise. The bread pudding was a delight! It came out piping hot, swimming in warm crème anglaise. I finished almost the whole thing with my family, to my stomach's protest. It was that good! With just one meal, Gabe's became a local favorite for my family and we will definitely be back! read more

Such a great experience! We were there for a rehearsal dinner so had a private area which was perfect since we had a lot of little ones who wanted to run around! The staff were lovely and so attentive! And the food was delicious! My favorite was the shrimp n grits! It was divine! I wish we could have came back for another meal there! I recently dined at Gabe's Downtown in Villa Rica, GA, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. First, the service was incredibly slow. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, it took an unusually long time for our orders to be taken and even longer for our food to arrive. When it finally did, it was lukewarm at best, which is never a good sign. The menu promised a variety of enticing options, but what I received was underwhelming. My entrée was poorly seasoned and lacked the freshness I expected. It felt like the ingredients were either outdated or not prepared with care. Additionally, the portion sizes were smaller than anticipated, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. To make matters worse, we were charged dinner pricing for lunch and didn't realize until after we left. Proceeded to call back and someone from the bar area said to call back closer to two. I waited until that time, the person over the phone argued about the transaction which was not correct on Gabe's Downtown side and the person proceeded to hang up on me. Overall, my visit to Gabe's Downtown was disappointing, and I left feeling that there are certainly better dining options in the area not to mention better staff that should listen to their cliental. I hope they can address these issues, as the concept has potential, but the execution fell flat and not only did they lose a customer today they acquired something way worse. We're been back to Gabe's in VR three times since it reopened. Each experience has been great! We've always gone with friends and they too had a great experience. Food and service always great! I had their house burger last time. It was as good of a burger as I've had anywhere. Highly recommend Gabe's. read more

The service for my 86th birthday was terrible. We arrived at 6:20pm. They told us it would take 40minutes and we were willing to wait. The wait actually took an hour and ten minutes to be seated. I was served a ceasar salad that was 99% the core of the lettuce and about two to three oeaves. The salad was returned and replaces with green leafy salad. Then the meal took an hour and 25 minutes with several tables who entered after us being served before us. As a group of Black and Brown people, who were sat in the back by the bathrooms, we did not enjoy Gabe's and will not return. read more

Firstly, when our party of six arrived, we were told it would be a 40 minute wait, because Gabe's doesn't take reservations. The wait ended up being close to an hour. When we're finally seated and ordered, it took another hour before we were served. The food was delicious. The service SUCKED!!! read more

We went for a graduation brunch. The waitstaff was exceptionally attentive. There were at least 5 servers for the 30 people. The seating was good, not great because the host had a challenge telling us where to go as we arrived late, as usual. The interior for the party area was friendly with a three part recipe of gumbo on the wall. It was a relaxed atmosphere, with just a little dressing up to make it a special occasion great for date brunches. The food served was well seasoned and able to accommodate a carnivore diet. We had the quiche (no pppers or mushrooms) so it was more like an oversized omelet and the salmon. We will definitely be going back. read more

The restaurant was beautiful. Server was nice and took our order correctly . But the food came out slowly with 2 entrees out before the next one and then the fourth one. Had to ask for my red beans side twice. I had the crab cake special with eggs & andouille hash. It was okay . Hubby had Chicken Victoria. He said it was good. Son & daughter in law had Crawfish Quiche . Said it was good. All in all a good meal . Will come again. read more

We love Cajun food so we decided to give Gabe's a try. My husband and I lived in New Orleans years ago so we've had some really good Cajun food. Let's just say Gabe's did not disappoint. We started with the Cajun Egg Rolls; excellent! My husband had the Shrimp & Grits and he said he would rank it in the top ten he's ever had. (He's had a lot of Shrimp & Grits so this is quite the compliment) My son and I both had the Shrimp Po Boy and they were delicious (large enough to share if you have a lighter appetite). Great bar service, slow dining room service and absolutely awful ribeye steak. The ribeye was 60% fat and gristle and the other 40% was as tough as shoe leather. The mashed potatoes were no better than dehydrated potatoes bought at the grocery store with little seasoning. When I informed the waiter he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Definitely not ready for prime time, they need some real work before I'm going back. Bar is nice for a drink but McDonalds a better option for dining. read more
