I went to Per Se on a Sunday night to celebrate a friend's birthday around 7:30 PM. Upon entry, I was immediately impressed by the aesthetics in the lounge. The theme was flowers and there was a beautiful flower wall, flower wall paper, flowers on the table with hues of red, pink and lavender. We were seated at a large table with a cushioned bench in the center across from the bar. Music was low enough to hear your conversations with a mix of r&b hits playing. Our server was Ramee and she was very sweet and attentive. We were waiting on two more guests to arrive, and she continued to check in and refill water and drinks. Once everyone arrived, I put in an order for the chicken egg rolls. They came out within 10 minutes and were fresh and flavorful! I would order those again. It comes with 2 cut in half, and was shareable with a small group. I did not order any cocktails, but my friends seemed to enjoy their drinks. For my entree, I opted for the salmon burger and fries & I was satisfied with it. The salmon was fresh and flavorful (not a patty!), and the fries were well seasoned. The others at my table ordered the beef burger, salmon with mashed potatoes and pasta with shrimp or chicken. The ladies who did not order burgers mentioned that their orders were lukewarm (i.e the pasta & mashed potatoes), so they ended up taking them to go. One of the ladies requested plasticware and the server mentioned that plastic ware was typically reserved for to go orders. A little later, Ramee brought out my friend's birthday cake & the crew came with sparklers and a birthday song to celebrate her. I've heard so many good things about this spot and was happy to finally go with my family. Picture the scene - the day after my 50th birthday party and we'd been up late, slept in. Finally got up and made our way to Per Se. This was the Sunday brunch menu - I've heard the dinner menu is amazing. We ordered a round of drinks. I do remember mine was "Fugg Dem Kids"! The cocktail names are so creative and funny even. For brunch we all had something different - Chicken & French Toast, Chicken & Waffles, Shrimp Omelette, French Toast Breakfast sandwich. The location looks unassuming from outside - it's next door to Cracker Barrel but inside it's like a lounge or speakeasy vibe. Lots of photo opportunities, bar, plenty of tables and even a private room. Our server was very pleasant. You seat yourself and for a Sunday it was pretty slow. The wife and I went out and explored restaurants in the Douglasville area. After reading a few reviews we landed on Per Se. We are new to the area so we are looking for our "new" spots. We went on a Friday evening. Parking and location was good and easy to find. When we walked in the front room is just empty and that gave us a weird feeling. You walk in through a walkway and you see the seating. The seating gives off more bar than nice restaurant but we decided to give it a shot any way. We seated ourselves but were promptly treated by a waitress that gave us menus and a silverware and drink menus. She was not our waitress but very nice. Again the menus were printed on paper which again gave red flags on if this was going to be a good experience, but we were already committed at this point. I ordered an old fashion and my wife one of their mixed cocktails. Drinks were great! Her drink alittle fruity for me but just right for the wife. My old fashion wasn't the best I've had but it was solid. We ordered the egg rolls for an appetizer. They came with an Asian sweet chili sauce that was awesome. Really enjoyed them. I had the Parmesan crusted salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I do wish I had alittle more broccoli but otherwise it was simply amazing. The salmon was cooked and seasoned through the large portion. My wife had the southern fried catfish with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Came with some hot sauce but the fish was seasoned so well it wasn't needed at all. The worst part of the experience was the hookah it wasn't great but could've just been the flavor I ordered, and it was also fairly cold in the restaurant as it was about 40 degrees outside and inside. My sisters and I decided to try Per Se to get a drink and bar food. Food - The only food we ordered was the peach cobbler dessert. We wanted appetizers but they were out of the two items we wanted. The dessert was very sweet to the point where it wasn't edible. The drinks on the other hand were delicious and the presentation was really cute! Atmosphere - The restaurant is a nice size and there were only about 5 tables of guests including us. They seated everyone close right next to one another. The issue was the music, I wasn't aware it turned into a lounge at some time. The music was extremely loud and old we couldn't hear anything. We went on Memorial Day during the middle of the day so there wasn't a lot of people inside. I'm pretty sure they're known for more of their late night vibes and brunch on Sunday. The decor is nice inside and kind of typical look or aesthetic as a lot of lounges around Atlanta these days. Since it was a holiday, there was only one waitress who was also the bartender, but she was doing a great job making sure that everyone was serviced and communicating about our drinks. I ordered the mango habanero wings with the fries m, and we also got their drink of the month which was the strawberry Margarita, which was only $7 so we made sure to get 2 lol. She did a really good job on the drinks. They were nice and strong and gave me that feel good feeling. My wings were good. They had a nice smoky flavor to it so it wasn't like your typical wings and the mango habanero had a nice flavor to it. I also enjoyed my fries as they were nice and crispy. My friend said that their fries were really salty, but mine didn't taste very salty in my opinion, though. All in all it was a decent spot, but wasn't anything great in my opinion. Again, it may have something to do with it being a holiday as well as being early in the day so that's not typically when all their vibes are really present. Went for the $2 Oyster happy hour on Monday. I tried three different kinds, Rockefeller, Asian (can't remember exact name) and the garlic butter. The oysters didn't come with cocktail or horseradish as advertised but, weren't needed. Rockefeller was the best of the three. The asian flavor wasn't good. Not sure what it was suppose to give but, it's also not listed on the menu. I asked the server what the options were and decided to try one. The garlic butter was good. The oysters came out lukewarm and the restaurant barely had 20ppl in it so not sure why they weren't hot. I seen a video on the business page that they were grilled but, it seemed like they were broiled in the oven. The restaurant itself had a bar type feel with nice decor. The servers were attentive. I am writing this review for what the bar is. Its a bar! If you like loud music, bbls, strong sweet ass dranks, and surprisingly great food. Pull up! I popped in on a random Wednesday night which turned out to R&B night. We sat in the lounge where we were served by the bartender who was very accommodating and gave recs. They played the Warriors game for my enjoyment as we ate. While there was a backup in the kitchen, she communicated well and we didn't mind the wait. I had the lambchops(4/5)(lamb with bbq sauce and parsley) were good but slightly raw. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. I had a side ceasar salad (3/5) that was slightly over dressed but good. We also ordered the chicken egg rolls (3.5/5) and my date had the parmesan salmon (5/5). I would definitely come back to catch a game and enjoy the vibes. Don't drink too much though, 12 be on 20! Sad because the wife and I are familiar with the owner. Made a delivery order for father's day and 30 minutes after the delivery time, nothing. The suggest you order with Toast but it has no delivery monitoring so you have zero status update on your order. I called the restaurant 15 times with no answer. Finally went to pick up the order as we spent $200 dollars, and, upon entry, the restaurant was damn nearly completely empty. Maybe two patrons. I asked the manager about my order and they had it in the back, just sitting. Did they not care that such a large order was just sitting. They said they have issues with delivery orders! Like WTF does that mean? They weren't very apologetic which was the main issue. People trust you for an holiday dinner, your operations is trash, no one answers your phone, and you don't care that people get such horrendous service, that they have to come pick up their own DELIVERY order! As you can imagine, the food wasn't great. Maybe it would have been better had I the opportunity to enjoy it fresh. I left messages via email and telephone, looking to have this service addressed. This was our 1st time here. It's an eclectic chic place. I'd give them 3.5 stars if I could. We placed our order online (no phone orders accepted, only online or at the bar). The quoted time for it to be ready was 8:41. We arrived a few minutes early and the order understandably wasn't ready. The host & bartender greeted us warmly. The order was ready about 10 minutes after the quoted time. Luckily I checked the order before we left as they'd forgotten 1 of the sides. My son ordered the bourbon lamp chops, which were good. He devoured them. He didn't comment on the braised kale side. I ordered the fried snapper. The presentation is nice as the fillets are held together by sticks. It was fried harder than I prefer and could've used a dash more salt in the batter, but was ok. I just realized after looking at the menu that it didn't come with any crawfish etoufee gravy! SMH These a la carte entrees were $20; not a bad price. The veggie rice is a misnomer as I barely saw any veggies in the rice. The grilled broccolini was actually sautéed and was disappointing as I enjoy it grilled. To pay $7 for sides and for them not to match the description is disappointing. The biggest let down for me was the dessert. This is the title and description from their website, $14 PEACH "N" CREAM COBBLER Pound Cake with Peach Cobbler Cheesecake Frosting. From the picture you can see there's no cheesecake frosting. It tasted more like bread pudding than pound cake. My son loved it. I was underwhelmed as I was expecting what the description offered. They need to work on the menu descriptions matching the food. They're still new so I'll give them another try. It's good they're open late; most local restaurants close so early now. Let me sayyyy that Per Se is the place to be if you're in the Douglasville area. The set up is very "demure" with a touch of laid back after work decompress go to spot. The interior and exterior was very pleasantly thought out as it was very feminine but not so much where all the guys would say this is a "chick" restaurant. I ordered a 1/2 dozen of Oyster Rockefeller and the Chicken Egg Rolls. Both were very good. My only complaint is that the oysters were overcooked and there wasn't much meat but it was still good. This has been my go spot for about 4 months. However, yesterday, I was completely taken back. Myself and 4 of my girlfriends decided to enjoy the Monday night special. I explained that it was there 1st time. I usually go with just one other person, but with a bigger group, there was a lot of inconsistency. The oysters were fresh, but some of us got garlic bread, and others didn't. The drink of the month, watermelon margaritas. The drinks came out super cute. We ordered 3 to start. The 4th didn't have the cube watermelon in it. I was here on June 19, and I didn't have the cube of watermelon in it either. We order the Brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, and veggie rice. When asked what veggies, she didn't know. But save your $7.. the rice is under cooked, yellow coloring, and disgusting. The other veggies were great. We order 2 shrimp platters. They were like fraternal twins. One had over a dz shrimps the other about 9. One had a creole sauce, the other ranch. When we spoke to the server (Patrice), she did say it was her 1st day. But once she brought over another server, they could tell the difference in the plates. Even took the food to the kitchen only to come back and still say they are not giving more shrimp. Apparently, they are weight and package ahead of time. They won't return food items.. but to not make up, the difference is crazy. Overall... this was not the best dining experience for $278...especially since the server got $42 /%20. They can't separate the food or print recipe if its more than 4 people. They will allow multiple cred cards. I did advise her to share that info in the beginning. For the place to not be busy...give us all the disclaimers and cater to the 2 tables you have. Once it's deem that the server is automatically getting gratituity, the quality always goes down. She was nice about it, and I understand the rules are the rules. Cute, trendy ambiance and decor. We arrived around noon on a Saturday. There were approximately 10 patrons dining in. There was one server who was waiting the tables and bartending. She was nice, but service was slowwww. We had a party of 4. The cooks brought the orders out individually, and the 4th plate (lamb lollipop) came out approximately 15-20 minutes later. A courtesy cocktail was offered to "rectify" the delay. The food was decent. The egg rolls was the best thing I tested. Fried chicken and mac was just okay. My mom ordered the oxtails and couldn't finish them. She loves oxtails, but took a few bites and couldn't finish the rest. The flavor of them and the gravy resembled a Mexican spice and she hated it. Not what she expected with this dish. Taste of cumin definitely overpowered the dish. She anticipated more of a carribean taste. They were very tender though. I think the food was overpriced . I went about 530/6 on a Thursday and it was not a vibe . I'm guessing they have a dj but she didn't arrive until we were about to leave . There were about 5 guests there including me and my man. Our appetizers were very good, but our dinner not so much. I got the Cajun pasta with lobster and it did not excite me . They lobster was as if it was shredded. I thought it would be a lobster tail on top of the pasta but that wasn't it. He got the fried red snapper, we ended up switching plates because i just did not like the pasta and it had a lot of peppers in it. The snapper was pretty tasty and we got the kale with the gravy on the side . They gravy was bland and not it !! The kale was a bit over seasoned and a little spicy. We had a few cocktails that were good but i didn't expect to spend about $230. They automatically include gratuity on every check. My wife and I decided to do date night close to home and had heard through a couple of Douglasville community Facebook groups that this was a good place to try. We were not disappointed. Amazing ambience and picture-perfect décor. Hard to believe that once upon a time it was a BBQ restaurant! The owners spared no details and made this into a truly inviting place to bring your significant other or a group of friends. They also have a very friendly staff (I think our server's name was JaeT), and those bartenders REALLY know how to pour drinks for grown folks! The food was also amazing. My wife had the lamb chops and said it was the most "satisfying" restaurant meal she's had in ages. I opted for the salmon, and it was cooked perfectly. In my experience many chefs don't seem to realize that salmon can essentially overcook itself between the kitchen and the guest's table. Whoever made this salmon has it down to a science, because it was very moist and the sauce was super flavorful. So glad that Douglasville keeps adding enjoyable date-night options so we can stay close to the house and not have to battle Atlanta traffic! We will be back! read more

had to come on here because I've constantly tried to give this spot a couple of times to get it right but the service on Mondays has been horrible... the servers are not on the same page with the specials, the servers are also not attentive at all. They sit around and smoke hookah while they customers are left unattended. I would spend more and also tip more than the 20% if they would tend to their tables. I've came back multiple times to see if they would get it right but I will never come back again. The food is good but the service is NOT GOOD at all. Today was my last day in Georgia and we was looking for a good place to dine, so the four of us looked some local restaurants, we saw (PER SE DOUGLASVILLE) so we went in, the service was trash, we had to beg for utensils, the didnt have orange juice , ginger ale, red snapper, condiment, the plates we didn't get for the spring rolls we ordered, they was more focused on smoking hooka, the food we had was trash, the steak fully unseasoned , mashed potatoes and mac an cheese was swimming in oil, champagne served in plastic party cups. They charged us the full price for the food we didn't eat $147.00. As a new establishment I like to patronize local restaurants to help our communit. The fact that the manager had no time to speak with us to make corrections for future guest was observed. Please know listen to your customers word of mouth can make or break a business. In all fairness, this 3 star rating is temporary. We went on a night that they were open for a comedy show and they weren't seating people without reservations. We didn't have one so we were turned away. As we were walking out, a nice gentleman stopped us and said he'd get us seated. Not sure if he was a manager or owner but he got us seated right away. Once seated, our server came over and explained that since it was a special night, they only had a limited menu. We were kind of disappointed but no big deal. We ended up with Philly chicken eggrolls, fried cauliflower bites, chargrilled oysters, salmon sliders and lobster Mac and cheese. The food was REALLY good. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was if I'm being honest. That said, the cocktails were really bad. I'm not sure if it's the brand of liquor that they use but they should dump it all and start from scratch. We each ordered a margarita and a Long Island and we each sent them back. So my girls and I went on a week day night. It was pretty empty (which I guess makes sense). The food was honestly nothing stellar. Portions were small. Macaroni and cheese and salmon sliders were very basic. Everything seemed under seasoned. None of the food seemed worth the high price tag. HOWEVER, the drinks were ON POINT!!! The real upset though was that we did not get printed receipts... which means that we did NOT know that a 20% gratuity was automatically added to each check. I found it slightly shady that the waitress never informed us... AND the restaurant has the audacity to ask for additional gratuity (they use the electronic pay readers which bring up a "suggested" gratuity). I won't be back. I ordered 3 items (none of which were main entrees) and a drink and walked out paying $65 because I wasn't properly informed about the gratuity. It just seems shady for the waitress to not make that clear. I do NOT mind paying for a high quality dining experience but this seemed like an "instagram only" dining experience.
