Only putting one star because its required. Yesterday afternoon after searching the area for a barber shop to cut my 3 yrs old and 2 yrs old hair I found this place. Google maps said they are open till 7. My husband walked in about 5:40 p.m asking if they can but my boys hair before pulling them out of the car. According to one of the barber he needed to see my kids first to "see what they were working with". We pulled out boys out of the car and we all walked in the barber shop. The moment we walked in right away one of the barber was already saying "we knew they were babies, were not trying to do that". My husband went on to telling them " I told you they were toddlers". I had to walk out of that place before I spoke my mind. How are you going to promote a business, but to discriminate against a certain age range. Maybe they should put a big sign saying no kids cuts. I have been going to this place for years, Jesse was my barber and my nephews first barber. Well I make an appointment one day and some guy I forgot his name tells me he no longer works there and offers to take me in so I agree and make the appointment with him. I get there waited an hour to be called, untill I finally ask where is this barber at. Long story short he forgot he had an appointment and another barber asked me what did I learn that day for not speaking up sooner like ot was my fault. These are very experienced barbers who have many years of experience and have built their brand and clients by providing the best cuts and getting to know each of their customers on a personal level. Many barber shops will rush you in and out there shop and not even get to know your name. This is a barber shop that gets extremely busy and it's best to make an appointment. These guys have worked hard to be able to open their own location and they're doing an amazing job. They do a very good job with walk ins but know that you will experience a 30-60 min wait due to the fact that most people schedule an appointment and they don't rush cuts they take time to provide a perfect cut. How I come out this shop looking like a blind man cut my hair. My line up was crazy, the fade wasn't blended at all, and he even put a face towel on me like he was really doing something. Smh. Bruh, I showed the barber a picture of me, with the cut I wanted, I even explained it to him in detail twice and asked him if he was sure he could do it. Shop opens at 9 am, I arrived at 9:15 with one person ahead of me. As I walked out I was followed by one of the barbers asking why I'm leaving. The only barber shop I trust in Southern Cal. I work in and around San Bernardino, and this shop is always on point. 1. They keep it clean - this may not sound like it needs to be said, but I've seen some filthy shops. Even the bathroom stays clean. 2. The haircuts always come out nice and they always have a barber that can mesh with any personality. 3. The atmosphere is always nice. They have TVs that you can watch from anywhere you're sitting. They keep it family friendly, and there's always a chill, funny vibe. 4. They stay busy, but they don't make you wait all day, if they can get to you they tell you and give you a realistic time estimate. Would give 0 stars if could to be honest... my brother in law went with an exact picture of what he wanted and they MESSED HIM UP!!! The cuz was NOTHING like the picture and the guy really had the nerve to say he couldn't use clippers on him cuz he had straight hair....... and didn't mention that until he was "done". We have specific instructions to leave the front completely alone because he was going to grow it out to have bands. This old man couldn't even follow that simple instruction my brother in law gave him. He chopped it so short and super crooked. And In the the end they really wanted to charge us EXTRA for only using scissors. We gave this old dude 20 so he would let us go but now we have to pay extra money to some how fix this crap and buy hoodies for my brother in law just so he feel comfortable going to school. I simply dont understand todays work ethic. I get to to this haircut place 25 minutes before closing. They were polite in telling me they're already closed because 'they still have to clean up'. I came here to find a local barbershop that would seem dependable, but I was dead wrong. I came here to get a fade which I thought would take 20 minutes. I end up being there for an hour and on top of that it is not kid friendly. My own little brother who is 9 years old hears profanity being yelled out by other people who are just loitering around. I had an appointment for my son's haircut, and it took nearly three hours to get out of the place since they would rather stop and talk and joke with each other CONSTANTLY. It took over an hour for him to get a fade because the barber helping him thought it was more important to carry on conversations with other patrons and employees rather than being a professional. He would literally stop and chat-- very loudly at that. This place was definitely NOT child-friendly while I was there. My 9 year-old was being exposed to locker room talk the entire time. Been to Barbers from LA to San Diego and thus, to Highland :/ I guess it isn't too fair if I compared the service we got to the ones we received in LA and San Diego, but the customer service was alright, they were friendly enough and the bantering between barbers were hilarious especially when they threw so much shade at a another barber who wasn't there, but dude shows up and you hear nothing but crickets. Be sure you call in advance, I knew this, but my son is an impatient, annoying, 15 year old who wants to get things done while we're right there -_-, so I took one for the team and did a "walk-in"...yeah, about that....never.again!! I'm not surprised the wait took 2 hours since it was a "walk-in" but what I am surprised at was the outcome of my baby's edges... it was so damn mediocre that I will not be taking him back, in fact, I had to deal with my husband's wrath when I got home after he saw his son's edges--lmao--we're still married in case anyone was worried for a minute, but my husband swore he was a f&%$#& comedian with the way he roasted my baby's edges, now if that don't tell you how bad that ish was, than I don't know what else to say.
