Easy to make an appointments on the phone. They also have a Mansfield location I have only been to the Arlington location. The office is on third floor in the corner off the elevator. Plenty of parking out front. Waiting room is a little small but I always have a seat when I go. Television in the waiting room just shows hearing info commercials instead of real TV. I guess that is easier than people wanting to change the TV show, or some bad show that you cannot stand. I had a hearing test here, I like hearing test lot of fun listing to beeps. The audiologist I had was very nice knowledgeable and professional. The doctor I saw was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional I will always go back to him if I can. Front desk staff and on the phone all have done a great job when I go in or call.

On August 31, I received a text from the imaging center with my MRI results. I opened the report and learned, on my own, that a mass had been found near my brain. There had been no call or communication from my physician's office beforehand to prepare me for or explain these findings. I immediately called the office around 4:30 p.m. and was told Dr. Payne had already left for the day, but the nurse could "almost guarantee" I would be the doctor's first phone call the following morning. That call never came. I waited until approximately 9:30 a.m. the next morning before calling the office myself. I was told, "The doctor said it's not cancer. Don't panic," and that I would receive a call within about 30 minutes. Nearly two hours later, I finally heard from Dr. Payne. The way that conversation was handled was incredibly upsetting. At a moment when I was terrified and looking to my physician for guidance, I found Dr. Payne's response to be shockingly lacking in compassion and empathy. I did not feel reassured, cared for, or even acknowledged as a frightened patient. Instead, the interaction made me feel as though my questions and concerns were an inconvenience and, quite frankly, like I did not matter. I was essentially questioned about why I was calling and told that results were not discussed over the phone and that I would need an appointment. This was especially frustrating considering I had already been sent the MRI report electronically and left to read the words describing a brain mass by myself. I understand physicians are busy, but there are moments in healthcare when compassion matters tremendously. Learning you have a brain tumor is one of those moments. Whether a tumor is believed to be benign or malignant does not change how frightening it is to receive that news. Being told, "It's not cancer, don't panic," is not the same as having your physician take a few minutes to explain what was found, what it means, and what happens next. I had already seen Dr. Payne four times--my initial appointment followed by three visits for steroid injections--because I knew something was wrong and trusted her with my care. What has stayed with me most is not simply the diagnosis, but how insignificant I was made to feel during one of the scariest moments of my life. I expected my physician to show some degree of empathy and understanding. Instead, I ended that conversation feeling dismissed and even more upset than when it began. No patient should have to discover a brain tumor through an imaging report, repeatedly chase down their physician for answers, and then be made to feel like an inconvenience for being scared and asking questions. I sincerely hope this practice reviews not only how significant imaging results are communicated to patients, but also the level of compassion shown when delivering life-changing medical information. This experience completely changed my confidence in Dr. Payne and the care I received from this office.

I have seen Dr. Shellenberger and his PA, Jennifer Paris. Both of these fine medical professionals have helped me greatly when dealing with my ear issues. They will not stop until they have solved the issue that you are experiencing. The offices in Arlington and in Mansfield are easy to get to, and both are clean and organized. The desk staff at both offices are always kind, courteous, and extremely helpful. I couldn't ask for a better ENT office than this one. I highly recommend them.

Don't Go Here Unless you want to be overcharged!!…read more I was excited to have an office that was highly reactive to the concerns of my husband and daughter, it boy was I wrong about the overall quality. They charged my husband for an office visit, not the machine itself, an OFFICE VISIT ($60.00 copay) for stopping in the office to pick up the machine that would be used for his scheduled home sleep study. He literally walked to the front desk, picked up the machine, and left. They charged him and additional $52.00 for to READ THE RESULTS!!! Not call us with results, but just read them. They then called him in to the office and charged him another $60.00 to give him his next steps from the results. I am so floored by this nickel and dime mentality. When I inquired with the billing department, they told me that they were within their LEGAL RIGHTS TO CHARGE. My daughter is scheduled for a sleep study, but we will find another ENT because this is outrageous. Cross Timbers just because you can charge for something doesn't mean that you should charge!!!

I felt I had to leave an honest review after reading all the one-star reviews…read more The front desk staff, MAs, phlebotomist, and all other staff members I've encountered have been nothing but helpful and patient. I used to work in a physician's office, and I have seen how demanding and ridiculous patients can be. Doctors cannot break the rules of medicine or go outside of the insurance restrictions to refill prescriptions, just give a patient what they want, or see patients who are behind in their payments. Dr. Truong (and every single one of her staff) has been kind to me. They are all races and backgrounds and ages, so the discrimination accusation below is unwarranted. I am white. Dr. Truong is Vietnamese. Some of the staff are Hispanic or African American. I have gone to Dr. Truong for only two years, but two African American friends of mine been going to her for years and never had any complaints. It is slanderous to make that accusation. How a patient speaks to staff can get them dismissed from a medical office, and I applaud any physician who stands behind their staff. Since the pandemic, people have become more demanding and just plain awful. Try working a front desk in a medical office for one day and you will be buying flowers for these ladies to compliment them on their skill and patience. Grow up, be kind, and be a patient person.

However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, I noticed a significant change in my experience. I increasingly felt like I was just another number rather than a person receiving individualized care. Over time, I found many of our interactions to be lacking warmth and compassion. At times, her communication came across as borderline rude, and I perceived an attitude that felt dismissive and superior rather than caring and respectful. I tolerated these experiences for quite some time because I valued the continuity of my medical care. Unfortunately, I have reached a point where I can no longer ignore how these interactions make me feel. A strong patient-provider relationship should include professionalism, empathy, and human connection. In my experience, those qualities have been missing. In addition, I felt that I was charged for various services in a way that was not always clear or expected. For example, if I scheduled an annual physical, I sometimes had to dispute the visit in order to receive the required preventive care, and then make another appointment to address additional concerns. I was also charged for services I understood to be covered by my insurance. As a result, I either paid for vaccines or received them elsewhere. I am deeply disappointed because I believe every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and respect. While I appreciate the medical care I have received over the years, the lack of compassion and meaningful human connection has led me to question whether this practice is still the right fit for me.
