No one really followed through for me here in terms of getting replacement surveillance system reinstalled. But Dana always sounded concerned in the moment. Ultimately, viewer, you must decide for yourself. But here, he's asked to demonstrate competency by viewing damaged system followed by proposing another as example of "fair replacement value" for insurance claim. As it turns out, he just petered out, though without coming forward to say so. My main reason for contact followed 85743 location, my 'hood. Jason and Sam came out and installed a TV and DVD player that we had purchased, after moving an existing wall mount to a better location. The room had been prewired for ceiling speakers, and they installed new speakers and set everything up to a Denon sound system (which we purchased from 5 Star). It is great! Jason made sure we had a good understanding of how everything worked before he left and told us to call him back if we had any trouble. They were fast and did a great job, arrived when he said they would, and cleaned up afterwards. Prices of the Denon sound system/cables/speakers were the same as big box stores (I checked). We plan on using Jason's services again when we get more TVs for bedrooms. read more

While Jason was personable and stayed focused on the work at hand his final "product" was very sub-par. He set up a home theater system with new receiver and 5.1 speaker system. When finished I asked if he wanted to run the auto speaker setup on the receiver but said no he had set me up. ---- I ran it after he left and found that he had wired the front and surround speakers backwards so I was getting front sounds in the back and visa-versa, that he had wired the left side of the wireless adapter at the receiver out of phase and that the back speakers were both sides out of phase............In addition to these issues I have pictures that show his workmanship lacks professionalism. He causes additional damage to your walls without informing you, does not use wall grommet protectors on the wires coming out of the wall and leaves the wires on your floor in a disorganized mess.......and if all that was not enough before he left I tried to use my universal remote to run everything and it did not turn off my receiver, did not have any communication with my Blue-Ray player and the TV would not get a DirecTV signal unless the receiver was also turned on. He fixed the TV issue but dismissed the others as a result of the brands not responding to my remote.....Bottom line is after giving this company more than $700 for my setup I ended up having to rewire half the system, program the remote myself and will need to hire someone to patch the extra holes he left in my walls. I am updating my review, since speaking with the owner, Jason. Apparently, there was some miscommunication with the office and Jason and a check has now been issued for the over charge. The microphone setup had not been done, because it allowed more sound to come out of the other speakers, which Jason thought I wanted. Again, a misunderstanding. I am pleased with the equipment and installation and the sound is great and now that we both understand the issues, I would use Jason and 5 Star again. read more

I called 5 Star Electronics to setup my initial service call and the person on the other end was short, preoccupied, and having two conversations at once. This experience gave me a bad feeling, but I decided to book the appointment anyway. At the end of my initial conversation, the representative told me he would contact me a couple days before my scheduled appointment to give me a time window for pickup. I NEVER GOT A CALL!!! I had to call back the night before my scheduled appointment to see when they were planning to show up. While on the phone, the same representative was once again short and didn't seem to care that no one had contacted me with an appointment time. I eventually contacted them again after business hours and told them not to pickup my TV. Long story short, I would rather sit in my house and be entertained by finger puppets then take any piece of broken electronics to this company. If their customer service is this bad, imagine the quality of the repair work......yikes!! Suggestion: customer service classes for your employees, especially for ones that deal with the public. read more

You couldn't find nicer people to work with. They explained everything to a non-techie (me) about smart TV and Blu Ray DVD's so I could understand it. They came on time for installation and were efficient and professional. They will match the price of any big box store and sometimes do better. I recently purchased a SONOS system from 5 Star Electronics, and we are beyond thrilled with the product AND the service! My husband is very hard of hearing and, even with hearing aids, struggles to get any pleasure out of watching television or listening to music. He has trouble in particular understanding any "talk" type programs (news, golf and other sports, etc.). We dealt with Jason, the owner, who assured us that he could help. We didn't even know what we wanted! He came to our home (at no cost), evaluated our needs, ordered equipment and was completely finished with installation in TWO DAYS! He also explained how to use our system to play music from the internet. Jason is extremely personable and knowledgeable, and it is obvious that he cares about his customers.
