Had Saturday night dinner reservations for 8:00 pm. Arrived at 8:05 and were told the kitchen was closed. They attempted to blame the rain but the restaurant was empty so they decided to close early. Drove 20 minutes from Chapman Lake, they couldn't be bothered to call us but then Vicky? (who claimed to be manager and part owner) lied to our face and told us that they had called and canceled all reservations. There were two tables eating and the place was empty, clearly they just closed early rather than paying their staff. This is not a place that should be in business. Stay away! read more

No thanks I can get canned beets from the grocery store... I never got to ask for more sauce for my burger because by the time our waiter came to finally check on us (after checking on all tables around us) I had finished my meal. Ordered the take out Easter dinner, actually ordered two of them, one ham one turkey. Normally the food is top quality and worth the premium price they command. This was not the case. I have never had worse ham anywhere, anytime. If it was just me I would say I'm just picky. Nobody liked it . Eight people would not touch it. Late 2018 review. This place is a hit or miss. On my first visit I ordered Shrimp and Grits, which I liked in spite of the fact that it was very salty. The salad was very tasty and fresh and I loved the pumpkin rice pudding. They have a good selection of hot tea. However, the service is slow. On my second night, I didn't like what I ordered and the fact that I had to wait for so long made the experience even more disappointing. However, because there is not a whole lot of great choices in the area, I would give them another try the next time I visit. I would just have to go before I get hungry and order very carefully, asking questions about the menu beforehand. read more

I fell in love with the atmosphere the second I walked it. Dim light but flowers and candles on each table. This place is diverse. You could go casual and grab a drink at the bar or you can dress up and fine dine. The menu has an array of items for every food lover! Our waiter was inviting and calm but overall perfect. There were some items we were confused about and he gladly explained and actually sold us on two of the specialities for that evening! You get what you pay for and this place is QUALITY. Almost everything is gluten free and there is a variety of vegan options as all. I personally had the sweet potatoe burger with a house salad and I highly recommend it. I can not believe I haven't been here soon. I will be leaving town in the near future and I am happy to say I've visited this classy place! read more

Based on the advice of our local team, we ended up here for a work meeting. Nice decor and pretty lively for a Monday night. The menu was varied and augmented by some nice specials. Our server was well versed on the preparation and came up with a nice pairing for my dish. Who doesn't love bacon and tuna? What maniacal genius would think to combine the two? Now, I like my tuna rare and was a bit skeptical that you could get crispy bacon without overcooking the tuna. For you folks that like bacon wrapped scallops, you get overcooked fish all the time. Ended up here since it was one of the few places not close on Sunday in the area... and enjoyed the heck out of the experience. Ambiance is very cool, albeit a bit loud for my taste. Sharp looking bar/restaurant. Service was probably the only mediocre part of our meal, but wasn't abysmal by any means. Started with the calamari app, which wasn't as big as at other restaurant's but featured lightly breaded, well seasoned, and tender calamari. Side sauce was too sweet for me, but I LOVED the fried jalapeno rings that came with the squid. Had the pork chop for my entree and was blown away. Incredibly juicy, fantastic sear, ridiculously tasty sauce... oh, and it comes with bacony brussel sprouts and cheesy mashed potatoes. Just a perfect dish and well executed from top to bottom. Could eat that over and over again. Finally, loved that they had six or so (good) craft beers on draft and even more in bottles. Enjoyed some Bear Republic Racer 5 and Victory HopDevil with my food. Superb food and well worth the price tag for what we ordered. Will definitely go back on my next skiing trip at Elk. read more

I came to Clarks Summit for business. My boss schedule a group dinner at this place so I arrived a day early and decided to scope the area and venue out. This place is really a "diamond in the ruff". I drove right passed it literally twice before I decided to just park and site see. The establishment sits in the middle of other small shops and seems a little sunken back. The first thing I seen was the amazing deck as I walk to the entrance. it was well lit and looked very romantic (arrived at 9pm) I loved it so much I didn't walk inside I just sat at the bar on the deck to enjoy the ambiance. The bartender JULIE was amazingly helpful and friendly. I wanted to see what the food looked like so of course I pulled everything up on Yelp lol. I decided to try the Yellowfin Tuna with Rice noodles. OMG this dish packed so much flavor. I loved the presentation and I was so glad that I got the full option. I felt like there should have been someone there to marry me and this yellow fin tuna lol. This place closed at 10pm but Julie the bartender was so great to me she just let me have another signature STATE STREET COSMO and we just chatted till 11pm. I told her I was coming back tomorrow and how I wanted to act like I knew of this place long ago (ya know almost like the tv show CHEERS where everybody knows your name lol) and she was so cool with it. I've eaten here a few times and have always been pleased. Food is typically very good, especially their flat breads. Their Sunday brunch items are simply to die for, and I'll definitely be stopping in again to try a few other items. If you're there for brunch, they have a Bloody Mary bar as well as off the menu Bloodies, including a bacon flavored option. Great atmosphere. This is the review I left a yr ago when we dined there. This week was my birthday and my wife ordered 4 meals to be picked up at the curbside. First of all when she placed the order on the phone she asked twice if any sides come with the meal & the waitress told her no, in spite of getting a side salad with each meal! Secondly, she when came home with the 4 meals we had to throw them in the garbage and make omelet because they were "fully burned" not just well done, the food was not edible, not safe to eat, CARBON! See the photos. I called 3 times over the past few days asking for the owner to call me back but he didn't even care. I know some Clarks Summit people remember this place to have been a dive bar during the 80's, now a staple of the state street "night life". They have some interesting beer on tap or bottled, selected for the season. The ambience of the lighting outside and the small but elegant patio creates a cozy atmosphere. Now for the food: I tried a wrap. It was the only fish they had on the menu. All I can describe this wrap as is a soft barbecue sauce covered fish taco. It was unappetizing and gross. I had dinner there tonight for the second time within the last two years. I asked for a sweet and fruity mocktail. When I took a sip, it tasted sour to me. I had to ask for something to make it sweeter. I was given simple syrup. I poured the whole container in and it still tasted slightly sour. I had a better mocktail two years ago!!! ordered the vegan tacos which were very good! I did have to ask for sour cream though. The tacos came with a bed of greens. This place is disgusting. I dropped well over a 40% tip for a bag of garbage for take out. There's more flavor in a double quarter pounder from McD's than there is in the SSG burger (which, by the way, when someone asks for no onions, they mean NO ONIONS). The cheeseboard is now set up as such: you can order cheese individually for like 7$ a pop. So, if you want a variety, you're looking at at LEAST 20$ for a cheese plate. I've always been impressed by State Street's menu and attention to detail throughout the restaurant, but for some reason, we can never have a perfect meal there regarding the service. The meals weren't to our expectation. I could over look things but if you order a simple hamburger with greyer cheese & sautéed onions well I mean that's not so complicated right... didn't get that right at all, little greyer and NO onions. The other meal we ordered was a meatloaf filled with cheese and wrapped in bacon. Well..... bacon was practically raw and hardly any cheese plus that entree had way TOO many onions... so anothe Mehhhh. Oh & We weren't offered any salt or pepper either. Simply wasn't worth the price. I ordered the "From the Range" chef special which included a sirloin steak, carrots, and potatoes. The steak was tough (not great quality) and the portion was small. I expected more from a $30 meal. Dinner didn't even include a side salad. Menu was very basic with similar items (half of the entries are "bowls").
