Took a day trip to check out Decatur. Looked on yelp to find a lunch spot and state street pizza won. I am more of a pizza fan than my husband but was happy to find the Italian sandwich for him. He loved it! Said he could only eat half but found it all to be gone soon. We both agreed the fries were the best we had ever had. I had a slice of pepperoni and a Caesar salad. This is a very good pizza place, especially if crust is your thing. If you like piled on toppings, you'll have to look elsewhere. The crust was really tasty, but very crispy (almost crunchy). Not chewy like New York style. Very good nonetheless. I personally like it a little more chewy and loaded with more toppings. Doesn't take away from the taste and quality of the food you'll get. Can we just say garlic butter on the crust!!! I'm from Chicago- which you know means I am quite the pizza snob! Rocky and her team have managed to make amazing pizza! I think finding really good pizza is near to impossible which makes me so happy they have pulled this off! Crust is very thin- delicious. Sauce- so flavorful and not too much! All the ingredients are very fresh - everything is made from scratch ( except the desserts) ...Rocky said she tasted over 10 cheesecakes to find the perfect one! Probably my only suggestion- is order extra cheese- I found that made the pizza perfect. Will most definitely return! read more

This is a great locally owned pizza place. They have a variety of options a available and have a weekly special that changes out. The neon moon is my favorite pizza on their permanent menu. Their slices are big, foldable pieces and have always been cooked perfectly. They also have really amazing fries. There can be significant waits if they are busy, so be prepared for that. Their kitchen service could be more efficient. If you have time, though, or they aren't packed, they're worth a stop. read more

As always, State Street Pizza is the bomb. Can't beat their made in-house fresh crust and fresh toppings. Worth the extra dollar for the garlic butter baked right in. We just stopped for a pizza lunch on our way through Decatur, heading to Dallas. Finding vegan options on the road isn't easy, so I was so happy to see that State Street offers vegan cheese on their pizzas. We got a large mushroom pizza, with vegan cheese on just one side. Service was prompt and friendly and the space is cute and bright. My husband raved about his non-vegan half of the pie; my half was very good, too. It's a treat to find vegan options; I just wish more restaurants would give Miyoko's liquid vegan mozzarella try. It's so much tastier than regular vegan mozzarella. Wow, just wow! First, let me start by saying get the salad(caesar) even if you don't think you have the room in your tummy for it, do it! First I have to say that we drove in to Fort Worth on a regular basis to get a pizza fix. We tried State Street today and were very happy with the product. We ordered a pepperoni, sausage, basil and provolone large pizza. It came out fresh, hot and tasty. I love the crunch of the crust with little charred bits and a great cheesy pull! Passing through on our way to Colorado, we stopped at State Street Pizza for a late lunch. Great decision!! After deliberating for quite some time we chose a Caesar salad with house made dressing and croutons with large slices of Parmesan. Hubby chose the pizza fries with the attitude of go big or go home as the pile of fries was more than even we could finish together! Then ....the pizza!!!! 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 Philly steak. The crust was perfect!! Nice crust with a crisp bite on the outside with a tad bit of chewy-ness inside, still being what I'd consider thin....just like I like it!! Marinara had a rich flavor that married well with the healthy amount of cheese. We ate 1/2 of our pie and look forward to having the rest for breakfast tomorrow morning. Room temp. Ashley, with her husband, owns this pizzeria and is so personable. She was willing to share the history of the building which we found so interesting. This was our first time ordering from here, and everyone agreed - it was so yummy! I couldn't give it 5 stars just because of the price. Two one-toppings for $33 is too expensive to keep us from making it our go-to pizza place, but it WAS delicious and we'll be back when we are up for a splurge! Also, it would be great if they had a place to pay for call-ahead orders. We called ahead, came in 15 min, and still had to wait behind the people ordering ahead of us. It was pretty slow. Not enough to complain about, but def something that could be improved. read more
