Man what a great pizza! Thin crust was crisp but not burned. We ordered the Texas Two Step. It had pepperoni and canadian bacon. We had ranch and two Dr. Peppers. We ordered a medium and it was pretty big... but keep in mind it had thinner crust so we ate the whole thing; which was perfect since we were traveling. Everyone was friendly and they came to check on us to make sure everything was like we wanted. The restaurant was clean and wasn't over the top decorated. Relaxed chill atmosphere. The large size is only a buck more than the medium so order large and enjoy leftovers. I created my own pie with pepperoni & mushrooms with white sauce, garlic, ricotta, and mozzarella cheeses. We cannot pass up an opportunity to grab a large Neon Moon Pizza every time we are passing through town! We've even been known to call it in, pick up and have an on the road pizza party... even if we don't have time we will make time for their pizza! Just recently I brought my aunt and mother to dine inside and they couldn't stop talking about how wonderful and sweet the cashier was! They are so accommodating and patient as these mom & aunt made their choices. We stumbled on this newly opened pizza joint because the lines were too long at the rest of the places on the square. Good for us! We were limited on time because we rode our motorcycles and didn't want to leave in the dark. While we were ordering we discovered they had just opened the business a week before. Somehow our order got lost and everybody else got their pizza before us. Here's where they won us back though. We got our "Big Eighter" which comes with Pepperoni, Sausage, Bacon, Seasoned Beef, Green Peppers, Black Olives, Onions, & Mushrooms. We got the XL that was huge and fed all four of us. That pizza was SOOOO DELICIOUS. The crust was hand tossed and all the ingredients tasted so good. They went out of their way to fix it and that meant everything to us. Fine to fill your stomach, but was it satisfying? Not a chance. Those chain pizza places are like a date with 'that kind of girl': afterwards, it's just guilt and calories. But with State Street Pizza, it's like eating with a princess: Delightful, nuanced, and at its best an experience that remains in the mind long after the belly is no longer full. Locally owned, with personable owners. I was looking for a recommendation for an excellent local place while visiting in town to race at Eagles Canyon Raceway, and the nice young lady at my hotel recommended State Street Pizza. Came in for lunch on a Monday. Very clean establishment, staff was very courteous. Prices were extremely fair. We got a large double ham add bacon pizza and were able to feed 4 of us twice and still have 2 huge slices left. Food was flavorful. I would hands down order from them over a big box chain anyday. Only thing I would have liked better was even being a double ham it seemed like it was not as much as I would have liked. I will however come back when I visit the area in the future. They don't put enough sauce on the pizza, just a drizzle. The toppings don't cover the pizza at all. The crust is decent.
