    Smoked meat loaf entree
    Jim J.

Stopped for dinner tonight after hearing the burger centric menu had expanded with new dishes. Clean but slightly dark dining room is small but could fit about 60 people. Sat right away and drink order taken in minutes. Ice cold beer was the ticket tonight. Order the app sampler: cheese tots, onion rings and brisket nachos. All were good, although brisket tasted a little old. Mains were smoked meatloaf and steak fingers. The meatloaf was very good, smoked just right and a good sized piece. The sides were not good; masked potatoes were cool temp wise and the Mac & cheese was cold. Steak fingers were seasoned well, cooked perfect, and tasted very good. Sides were corn and fried okra, both were well prepared. Overall, I would go back but wouldn't wait in line.

Bacon Gouda burger with okra and gravy

Atmosphere was good, not too busy on a Friday night at 6 because of a home football game . Each got a burger which were cooked well but not "overdone". Patties were a little on the loose/messy side. Got the Bacon Gouda burger which had several slices of crispy bacon on it, and the Avocado Bacon burger which was similarly topped. Fried Okra was not homemade but still decent, Mac and cheese was tasty-pasta was al-dente. Gravy was a bit on the thin side, so keep that in mind if you order anything chicken fried :) Beers were cold, service was not bad, but considering they weren't busy could have been better. Overall not a bad experience, but we had higher hopes after reading reviews.

So, we were on the hunt for the best chicken fried steak, and found a Yelp review, so we tried this place. We started with fried pickles, which were thick cut and lightly breaded. But greasy as hell (your grease is the wrong temp). In my photo, you can see the pool of grease in the tray! EWWW! Not the best chicken fry that we have ever had. It was cooked to death, and then thrown back in to cook for 10 more minutes. My wife took 2 bites, and didn't eat any more. I was lured by the siren call of a blueberry bourbon bacon sandwich. The waitress asked me if I wanted everything on it! I replied no onions. I guess onions were the only thing that came on it, because it was a less than a 1/4 lb piece of hamburger meat with no color, flavor, or seasoning at all. Dead (see pics). Blueberry jam all over the place, but surprisingly small amount of flavor. If it weren't for bacon and jalapeno bun, I probably wouldn't have eaten mine either. I have been a few times over the years, haven't written reviews because I don't like negative reviews.... but we probably won't be back. 2 STARS.

We had coffees that were typical diner coffee and pretty good. We ordered the chorizo burrito, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, and the skillets. It was all hot fresh and very good. I will definitely get that burrito again and the hash-browns were so good! Crispy and buttery. We hung out for a little bit catching up (they had slowed down and no one was waiting) and they didn't try to rush us and still gave us great service. I will definitely try this place again while in the area!

This is the hottest, and best breakfast in the Wise county area right now! Ambiance matters, and the radio had Dolly, Willie, Waylon and Hank in the first 30 min! For a guy like me, I'm sold! You just can't beat the Solid Gold country! Who would've thought I'd have a culinary first in Decatur, Texas. I'll be honest, I've never even heard of tzatziki on an omelette, but I'm here to tell you... I'm here for it! You want a Gyro meat omelette, cooked to absolute perfection, a 1/2 a mile high, with Gyro meat in it... and tzatziki sauce too? If this is your flavor profile, this place is worth the drive! In the words of my wife, and to the waitress and the owner... this is the Best omelette I have ever had! As a certified snob, who has eaten omelettes on at least 3 continents, she knows what she's talking about! And, as the waitress told us... the biscuits stand on their own! Stellar! Go look at the picture! I've said it a thousand time on YELP! Simple food, done well, by people who really care, is a formula that cannot be beaten! 5 STARS PS.... wait for the buffalo chicken sandwich review which I'll be looking to post in the next week... They also have three pool tables and TVs. The menu is extensive and the prices reasonable for BBQ. Seems like a favorite of the locals. I though they would be playing C&W, but they had 60's and 70's music on. The squeeze and I split a two meat plate with brisket and sausage and two sides, cowboy cole slaw and Rooster Tails (Deep fried onion petals). The brisket was moist and very tender, with a slight smokiness. The sausage was deeply smoked, sliced in half and charred a bit on the flattop. The slaw and Rooster Tails were really good. A nice slightly spicy dip was served with the onions. Good BBQ sauce for the brisket, and they also had a wall of pain with some choice hot sauces on it. I didn't partake, since I have a flight to catch in the morning. They brought a second plate for no charge. The squeeze had a canned IPA and I had a Shiner Bock draft for libations. We really enjoyed the meal. Morgan was an excellent server and didn't try to shoo us out even though more customers were coming in. I wish I lived around here so I could try the other items on the menu.

Here again in 5 months on our way to San Diego…read more It's a Sunday, just before 8am. It is busy. Guess we're late as everyone is already halfway through their breakfast. Again this place is clean & neat despite the breakfast crowd. Our server was friendly and prompt with coffee and water. Today we ordered the Ryan's omelet and chicken fried steak. The omelette serving is big! Very generous amounts of ingredients and chunky size too! Love it! The chicken fried steak is huge! I think it's more a sharing size but if you're hungry, it's perfect for you. I'm pretty sure there'll be leftover.

Not a lot of "atmosphere" per se. Drinks were ordered and delivered promptly. Breakfast order took a minute; there seemed to be some confusion over which server was taking our table. BIL ordered one of the local breakfasts with all the usual: eggs, grits, toast, bacon. I opted for the veggie omelet with home fries and toast. Order took no time to be delivered. BIL finished his, and mine was the perfect portion. I hate having leftovers but this was not an overstuffed omelet, so I made short work of it. Home fries were a bit bland, but veggies in omelet were just right. Getting out of here was a challenge. Once food was delivered, we were able to watch servers talking while our drinks ran dry, and getting the check took a minute. It was good, reasonably priced and no leftovers gives it the 4-stars instead of 3, but once I'm done with breakfast, I have things to do, so no 5-stars on this one. I'm going to skip this on my next trip to Texas.
