There are always two sides to every situation and I feel compelled to explain our side. I am just going to address this review as I read it. In regards to finding professional tools at Home Depot, you can find ANY professional tool at most retail stores. You can go to Menards and buy decking material, does it mean you should go home and build a deck? Probably not, but it'd be " a lot less".
This customer had stated that the tech was "only there for 45 minutes", in our price we factor in gas, labor, materials, etc. She was 90 minutes away from us. She knew exactly what work was going to be performed AND the cost PRIOR to starting the job. We actually ended up charging her LESS then what was origianlly agreed upon. We have no problem working with our customers, we understand these are hard times and a wildlife issue is never expected and can be costly. We are licensed and trained technicians. A trappers job is not easy nor is it glamorous, we do the job that no one else wants to do and also take on the risks. Have you ever been sprayed by a skunk or bitten by an angry raccoon, or rabid squirrel? Probably not, because it is OUR job to take that risk for you.
This customer had complained that the tech didn't go into the attic. The only other reason to enter an attic is to determine what, if anything is gaining access to the attic, which in this case, the customer suspected and we determined it was in fact, an adult squirrel with no babies. All of our work can be performed from the outside of the home. The client wasn't interested in doing a clean out at that time, she just wanted the squirrel removed.
She had stated that she called "a few weeks later", it was actually 2 months later. During that call, she had stated that she "determined our squirrel was not gone". Had in fact the same squirrel never left as the customer had stated, it would have been "determined" long before 9 weeks had passed. Even if it had been the same squirrel, that is out of our hands due to the fact that the customer had a ROOFER seal up the holes created by the squirrel. The work was not performed by us, we could not warranty the work, and we could not guarantee the squirrel would not re-enter the attic, therefore we woud have to charge to re-seal any entrances/exits the squirrel created. Unfortunately for all of us, this is WILD life, there is no way to determine 100% what an animal will or will not do. Any trapper will tell you the same thing!
The customer had said our tech had "relunctantly complied" to enter the attic upon his return. He was already aware that the customer wanted him enter the attic before he even left our office. We stated on the paperwork that he needed to go into the attic. Upon entering the attic, the tech discovered evidence of squirrels (which we were already aware of, hence the reason for the customers call).
I would like to address the statement; "ask lots of questions BEFORE you agree to any services so you don't get ripped off like we did". The customer was FULLY aware of what work was going to be performed AND the cost. The customer was ALSO informed the we could only warranty work performed by Stateline Animal Control. Upon returning, it was discovered that a squirrel had in fact, chewed A NEW HOLE. The only work performed by us was the exclusion device and the device was STILL in tack and in place so there is no way to mistake the new hole to be a faulty exclusion device. The customer was informed that IF a squirrel was to gain enterance through OUR device it would in fact be covered on our warranty. We did not perform the work of sealing the holes so how can we be responsible for work we did not perform? When the customer called the second time, 56 days later, she was informed that if it was discovered that the entry point was not through our exclusion device that there would be another charge.
Brennon, and the entire staff here at Stateline Animal Control, strive for our customer satisfaction 100% of the time. He is also very "competent" as an animal control expert. We've been in business for over 8 years and have yet to discover an unsatisfied customer until now. I am very sorry this customer had a negative experience with us.. read more
