I do recommend getting the picture and video package because of how fun this was. We got our deal on Groupon, and I got 5 laps, which was definitely fun, but YOU'LL WANT MORE LAPS, so get more if you can afford them. I didn't give 5 stars because my car broke down twice during my 5 laps, and they said they gave me 2 extra laps as a result (but that's not true), yet I'd do it all over the same again, even with the breakdowns. This was ABSOLUTELY FUN!!! The ABC's: 1) Show up on time, and you'll register, where they pressure you into extra ($60) insurance, or you pay $15k "on the spot," if you wreck/damage the car. You don't need the insurance IN MY OPINION, then 2) You attend a 15-20 minute class where the bossman explains all aspects with plenty of emphasis on safety, then 3) your group, as a group, makes way to the track/pit, after the previous group is done & walking back (EVERYONE SMILING), then 4) you suit up, helmet off for pictures of you sitting on the race car door with feet inside for pics, proceed to get inside, put helmet on, an assistant buckles you into the 5-point harness, you put the steering wheel on, then 5) (most impressively) you put "your ears on" by sliding your "spotter radio" speakers in the helmet and follow your spotters instructions for the rest of the race, 6) as you enter the raceway with other race cars (some solo, some ride-alongside), GOING FULL THROTTLE at the explained parts of the track, passing (when given the okay by your spotter), and allowing others to pass (when instructed by the spotter). PLAIN & SIMPLE, THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!!! Thank you to all staff, crew, and other racers!!! Unreal, lifetime, bucket-list experience!!!

We watched the safely video that we have seen 100 times before but sat through it listened. The lady asked us questions about the video and we answered them all correctly. She then said that she could here us talking at points during the video so we have to re-watch it and starting screaming at us for some reason. We had a reservation at 1:30 and did not get on the track tell 3:00. While we were rewatching the video she had 2 groups go ahead of us for some reason so we had to wait an hour. She did not apologize or anything. She must have been feeling a need to assert power for some reason. When we finally got on the track, one of the workers was cool and professional. The other one with glasses was a complete loser. We are just minding our business having a friendly race and he decides to join the race to prove how good of a driver he is. He keeps trying to pass my little brother and can't, and eventually bumps into him and spins out. We are all confused why a working is bumping into people then freaks out and kicks all off the track. We did not receive any warnings or anything. They said we will not receive a refund either. Absolutely pathetic from them. Overall I do not know what is worse? The service or the racing. As soon as they see you have fun on the track they will just yell at you for bumping or going too fast. If you are reading this DO NOT COME HERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY

The amount of work it takes to be a very mid runner is hysterical! In all honesty though I haven't…read moreput much "training"' into a marathon in a very, very long time. Every time I sign up for something and say "this is it, it's time to actually get ready for this" - life lifes! and I find myself nearing the start line saying something like, "just crank this mary out today and have fun- enjoy the course". That's what happened with Coeur d'Alene! I registered on 2/18 after making a rather large life decision and said this is it, I'll train out and really pour into this prior to MDW. A rather enormous training period for someone who can roll out of bed on a Sunday and jog a marathon but life did its thing and I got side tracked with some large life choices and the "training" took a back seat. I thought I'd have to scrap this race all together but when it turned out I could make it work after a relocation and months of packing, followed by a couple of weeks of moving- I bought a new flight, revised my hotel dates to only come in to pick up my bib, run and make it happen! Despite feeling fairly worn out from the weeks leading up I was so excited and thankful to be in town to participate. This course is stunning. It reminded me a little of one of my other fav marathon courses (Cape Cod). There were several pacers but only a 3:30 pacer and a 4:30 pacer near my times, and 3:30 is still a dream for snail marathoner like me. I knew 4:30 would be rather conservative but also the best bet for where I was at to help ensure I remain injury free. Shawn the 4:30 pacer was amazing!! His energy and positive, fun vibe made this run even more special. I love when ultra runners pace marathons because I feel like such a clown the second I even dare think I'm feeling the least bit fatigued, knowing they'll run 75+ more miles for a run. They really put things in perspective and help marathons feel like a 20min 5k in your local park. I'd highly recommend this marathon if you like small races with beautiful, tranquil, serene vibes. Everyone called this the hottest day of the year but with recently moving to TX 80s felt dreamy! All in all I still boarded my flight feeling like I'd run BPN Last Man Standing not a measly 26.2. I told myself shake it off and have been getting around fairly nicely since. Lastly, about a month ago I remember writing "may bib 261 find me at a marathon check in". The thing about life is, you can't wait around for any one thing to find you- you need to go out and get it. I was given bib 164 and figured I'm less than 100 from what I want. I got back in line, took a chance and asked for it. To my most grateful surprise, sitting in another box it was brought over and swapped out for me. If you don't know the history behind this bib, go educate yourself! Can't wait to run this marathon again! I think I'll plan on training and running it next MDW for time ;)

The restaurant make food fresh and of quality ingredients. The portions are massive for most things so this makes sharing easy. There are key nights for us which are the wooden coasters, Lindy's restaurant which is food made from scratch (cornbread and honey is a must) and the train. If you want to make a trip of it there is a campground and RV park at Silverwood directly out the main gates!!

I have never seen a ball in my lifetime of watching baseball. A balk, then a second balk in the same inning , the same pitcher one pitch balk, ball, then. Lakes a run In - the go ahead run. It was mind blowing. A nice stadium- easy to get in to. The bathrooms are in the middle of each end. It's easy to get around, the only thing is if you are not familiar the staff to help out really didn't know. It's all good. I tried to find the seating online - it wasn't easily found for me. That's ok though. It's an easy layout and there is good seating in the whole stadium. There seems to be good seating everywhere. I will be back.

In between innings there was some competition or game to entertain the fans. The mascot is a trout that comes out and does a move that looks like it is spawning. It's creepy. Other than that, a good time and beware that there are bleacher seats that weren't clearly marked on the tickets, maybe. Friend bought the tickets and we were surprised by the location especially when there were plenty of open seats. It's uncomfortable to sit in the bleachers at my age.
