There's a reason I usually shop here at 7 a.m. on weekday mornings rather than on evenings or weekends it gets crowded with people who mostly want to use the express lanes. Tonight I was reminded about why this Staters is the BEST. No matter how crowded it gets (holidays, weekends), the staff here work smoothly, without complaining, as a team. They're always ready to help out (like when they rearranged the aisles and I couldn't find things a few months ago because I was on autopilot). They look you in the eye when they ask if you've found everything, and they sound genuine when they say have a good day. Customer service is alive and well here. Went into the store early Sunday morning 6/14/26 to get some groceries. Ran into an awful employee named Terry. She had the worst attitude when I tried to ask her to find what I was looking for. Won't be shopping here anymore because of her. I'll make the drive to the Claremont store instead. I will be making a complaint to management to make sure she changes her attitude when speaking to people. Wasn't gonna make a review about it but still bothered me today. I love stater brothers it's the only grocery store I'll shop at, but this store despite being the closest one is the worst. I'm not speaking of everyone but the employees which I've spoken to are not very friendly. They all have attitude. And most of their stuff isn't stocked when I come. I'd rather make the drive to Claremont or La Verne. Staff is much more friendly at these locations and these stores look overall much more clean and stocked. read more

Went to buy wings with my husband and never seen this boy cause the way he acted that's no man, that's a little boy grabbing the chicken with his barehands so we decided to not get those wings, and my husband told him why. The employee acts offended and tries to act tough once my guy said step outside and I'll show you a problem the little boy got scare but walked away talking shit to a customer. The employees behind the meat counter should be fired! So disrespectful and unprofessional. Lack of common sense, retraining should be done to emphasize why it's important to handle meat properly. read more

First of, all these negative reviews on here are misleading! Everything I've been to the Pomona location I've had great service, fresh products. Just because an establishment is in a "badly" reputed area, doesn't mean it's bad. The meat counter was excellent, they were outside of jalapeño burgers but the gentleman told me he'd make more and gave me a brief time estimate. I also ordered from the deli, the woman was very thorough and asked if the thickness of the cold cut was fine, she also gave me a sample of the deviled egg potato salad. Finally, my mother had some trouble with her card not working in the cashier/register area and the cashier was such a gentleman. His name is Greg G. He was so patient, polite and helpful. He helped her with the prompts and helped her use the pin pad. It was incredible service. He didn't make her feel bad or anything. I was in awe and happy people like this still exist in such a difficult industry! Greg helped us bag our groceries and wishes us a Happy New Year. I highly recommend this grocery store. Where do I start well first off this location has become very ghetto and that's starting with the upper management team and don't get me wrong the store manager Felicia is really nice and helpful when needed but there is another service manager there and he is a little punk making rude faces towards a paying customer you are not at home bro so keep the face making and little attitude outside of your place of business because it is very unprofessional and i can speak on that because I myself work in a well known grocery store as well and I do know how big these companies are when it comes to customer service. I went in this local stater brothers why because it's so close to home and why not give my business to my local grocery store, I went in to buy groceries for tonight's dinner and when I was looking at salad dressing I noticed that the hidden valley ranch was under a 99 cent spot ok so I grabbed two bottles and went on about my shopping then as I was checking out the cashier Martha was very friendly when I brought it to her attention that the bottles rang up $4.99 and not 99 cents, she did apologize for the mistake and she called over that little manager guy and said the ranch rang up $4.99 and he said no with an attitude so I showed him the picture I did take of the ranch in a 99 cent spot and i was not going argue with him because not even a picture of the stores mistake did he believe. And the only reason why I am writing this review is because I did not appreciate the attitude before he even knew what was going on & i get it being around customers all day can be a bit much but do not take your foul attitude out on the next person! read more

This is always my go to store but recently have been seeing new cashiers. The worst cashier is a male with glasses and dark long hair that's always placed in the express checkout. He is the slowest cashier ever and his line always takes FOREVER when it's supposed to be the fastest?! He doesn't interact at all with customers. read more

Service is good, people are friendly, however this store sells a lot of expired food, twice I've bought expired yogurts I think like 2-3 times I got expired kombucha. One time they had that kombucha on sale because it was expired!!!! pineapples that were moldy, mind you they're charging so much extra for this pink pineapple + mold, so be careful the ones on the floor are almost always molded, you have to ask them to check the back for a fresher one (this happened twice). This was all within 4 months. I later realized I had to check every item before I pulled it from the shelf so just be careful. The staff is very nice so if you tell them they'll replace it obviously but it's just so inconvenient to have to bring stuff back. read more

Chris and Robert are the butchers that always take care of me. I come here daily because I don't like to touch meat so I have them prepare devein and do what is needed every day. My girlfriend was in a huge line at the check out and all these three girls wanted to do was talk. They were literally stopping what she was doing to talk. The cashier had a very bad attitude always had a pissy look on her face. I will never go back to this place again, they were talking to some man for a minimum of at least seven minutes while everybody was waiting they didn't care at all. They just kept chitchatting. Everything is so organized in each aisle, the floors are always clean. The employees are super kind too!

Regardless this supermarket being in a not so safe neighborhood, I have seen such an improvement with safety. The store has been going thru some renovations and its looking so amazing. They are serving sushi now and it taste so delicious and its affordable. Another thing we love purchase from there that is hot and ready is the ribs with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The service here is so good from the security lady to the bagging person are always so friendly. read more

That's not the only new thing - new paint and flooring inside, a fruit cutting station in the fruit section, and landscaping all around the outside. It's definitely worth a visit! Back to the sushi... my family and I dine out regularly for sushi and were a little skeptical that Stater's would have sushi as fresh and tasty. They did not disappoint! Each member of my family (husband, 11 yo, and 7 yo) gobbled up our sushi rolls and nigiri, which also came with soy sauce, Wasabi, and ginger. Everything was so fresh! I posted a good review a couple of years ago. Stater Bros on Garey is even better now. The renovation is great, there are many additions that are super - sushi bar, bakery, the meat department is still first-rate. I, on occasion, shop at the La Verne and Claremont Stater Bros, but my Pomona store is far and away better, in my view. I've shopped there for 23 years, and it's the best store in this area, selection, price, customer service. read more

This one of the closest stores to us. The store is always clean. All of the staff wear masks. The staff are friendly. Most of the time we are need something they have been out of stock. Like sour cream, cream cheese, dr pepper, jalapenos. I understand with covid. I got chicken breast one time from the counter but I got sick. I threw up the next day all day. I couldn't hold anything down. It was the last 2 breasts at the counter so I guess I should've passed. The people at the counter do wear gloves and masks though. I like the prices are reasonable. They clean and sanitize the carts for you. Its the closest redbox location we have so it's nice to get groceries at the same time. They practice social distancing. The lines aren't long and if they are, they are fast and friendly. read more

The deli is horrible. The potato wedges are always old when I go in. I asked Vanessa when they were made and she really couldn't say. She finally said maybe a couple of hour's. As for the chicken I was going to get it looked old as well. They can only use the fryer in the back for 1 thing only which is totally ridiculous. They need better customer in the deli. I have been shopping here for nearly 10 years and was happy to see all the renovations the store got. However, when I was looking at the new bakery I wanted to ask a couple questions about all the new additions. I was then met with a really rude and condescending attitude by a worker. It was an older lady standing outside the bakery who's name I believe was Diane. I'm not sure if she was one of the bakery workers herself as she wasn't wearing the usual uniform like everyone else. I usually have a great experience with customer service so this was a rare occasion. Please speak to your workers about their attitudes. All things aside, good job on the remodel! read more

Discovered today that the center aisles are now mostly non-food items. The workers here are not friendly at all. They seem like they dread being there. I'll admit the store is pretty clean and very organized though. But again, the workers aren't friendly and come off as rude I was trying to get something in the lunch meat section and an employee was restocking the section next to me, he was going to restock the section in front of me then started restocking pretty much in my face....pretty awkward and incredibly rude... The cashiers are pretty much whatever about their job, they just get it done and send you on your way. It wouldn't kill to get a smile or something. Got a few things and got to register 6 and light was on and then when I turned around the register light was off. i still asked if they had room for one more guy at register accepted. But no questions like "did you get everything you needed today?" Some type of welcoming feeling that stater brothers customers are supposed to expect. But no all I got was silent mouths and no eye contact. What kind of employees does this location hire? All I got in my first experience here was dirty looks..
