I used to love coming here right before 5AM because of their 24-hour schedule. It was the perfect spot to grab their ready-packed deli items like salads, sandwiches, and chicken mashed potato bowls, for my workday lunch. Unfortunately, during my visit this morning, I discovered they are no longer open 24 hours. The new posted hours are 6AM to midnight daily. Great place mostly for their prices, but also because they have dry goods that you can buy by weight. I'm a little upset about the pine nuts being prepackaged now. Because I used to get small amounts before and now I'm forced to get an abundance that I can't use very quickly, so they go bad in my pantry, and they are too expensive for that large amount. They also usually have super long lines which is annoying (stop accepting EBT) Otherwise the prices are good, products are abundant. But the EBT sales are absurd. Every person in front of me in line is using EBT. I understand why they accept it because it's easy money, but they shouldn't since it's pushing customers who make honest money away. read more

An employee at this location is very rude with very poor customer service. Rita has a problem with people not only staring g at her when she as 4x to remove someone and when you do it, going ask what's your problem although they can see with glasses on. Also made a suggested remark about people that purchase their groceries with EBT. She assumed that I was paying with EBT because of my race. No I pay with debt thank you. Management at first seemed want to help but now I think they on some captain save. Very poor customer service. read more

This is my first time shopping at Winco in Pomona, CA. The prices are reasonable. Service is great. Ambiance is clean and well organized. I am glad I read the reviews prior to entering the store. When I got to the checkout line, I asked the cashier if he can take credit card and he said no. They only take Cash or Debit card. I don't trust using my debit card! I did not see any sign stating CASH OR DEBIT ONLY prior to entering the store! I had to remove some of my groceries and only purchased drink cans. I will definitely be back with extra cash on me, but that won't happen anytime soon. read more

We were in the area a couple of weeks ago and hubby wanted to check out this Winco (specifically for egg prices). *Winco does NOT accept credit cards* (in case you didnt know). The parking lot is the cleanest Winco parking lot I've been to. The inside of the store is also clean, well organized, and fully stocked. They had a good amount of eggs, but..... expensive af!! It appears that eggs are the same price at every Winco (Lakewood, Perris, Norco, Temecula, Pomona), $36 for 60 medium. Overall, Winco Pomona is impressively the cleanest Winco by far (that I've been to)!! Always great prices here, esp on their canned & frozen goods and spices. read more

I was at Winco today, I always get my cinnamon and vanilla creamer for the last month the shelf has been the same with sweet creamer. It is where the cinnamon and vanilla creamer is supposed to be. Winco can be your one stop shop if you aren't too picky about price. They have a wide variety of grocery items. Some things are a really good deal and others are not so much. This store has a vast selection of baking good and spices in bulk. Is a bit crowded but with so much to choose is good place to look for the ingredients you need. The whole pizzas here are a bit smaller than Costco's whole pizzas, but surprisingly, the dough, cheese, and toppings are noticeably higher quality at WinCo. The pizza was baked perfectly, with a perfectly crisp crust, comparable to a perfectly-made pizza from Round Table Pizza, with a very similar taste, but at about one-third the price. I remember going here during my undergrad and having my mind blown and it's been years since I've been back and once again I have to marvel at how great this market is, especially since it's open 24/7! Anything you can ask for it's here from groceries, frozen foods, home goods, a bakery, etc. It's nice that they have an area where you can select and choose candies (these were Halloween themed currently) based on weight. Definitely an eye catcher for anyone bringing their kids here. In the back, there's also a place to get your own honey or make your own nut butter. There's animal feed and treats too. The deli/meat section had full on meals that you'd just have to heat up to eat. Definitely cheaper than getting a combo at Panda Express or the like. They had huge sausages, a ginormous calzone for $7, and even Filipino meats too! The bakery section has cakes and other goods ready with really cheap breads and pastries. As far as a grocery store Winco has hardly ever let me down but as for the deli , well there could be some improvement. I normally see an older lady working this counter along with a young man and they are always nice and pleasant to deal with but there is a young lady my wife encountered that was rude. We love the fried chicken and wedges and to be told we can only order an 8 piece meal and nothing more knowing there will be more available because it was only 1pm and the frieres where on and cooking more batches was wrong. She could have told my wife the next batch will be available in X amount of time if she wants to wait even though my wife told me the show case was more than half full. So like 1000% you should come here if you happen to be on a budget. You get the same brands/foods at the fraction of the cost. In fact, the WinCo equivalent to each product is pretty on par so you can save tons of money should you have a tight budget. I'm writing a love letter to the to-go situation. I discovered today that for $3.28 ($3.62 with tax), I got a slice of pizza, a side (garlic bread or a churro), and a drink. It was a steal. What the heck. I had the Hawaiian pizza slice, and while I've had better versions, this was cheap as hell so whatever. The garlic bread was fine as well. This all costed under $5.00 - what a freaking bargain. To the lady that works in the deli do the company a favor and quit you should not be helping people. I get to the deli and ask for something to be cut for me what they had pre cut was too thick for my family's liking and the gentleman said he would have to wait for someone from the deli to get there i said oh that's fine i can shop around and come back he was kind. I come back 10 minutes later and the lady from the deli seems to be saying good buy to a friend. I wait patiently and she asks how she can help me i ask for tomato basil turkey breast just sliced thinner she said that's all we have. I said oh that's ok then I'll take Black Forest ham sliced thinner please she then said that's all we have we stop slicing at 6pm. I thanked her and walked away. If they stopped slicing at 6 pm why didn't she say that when i asked for the first thing i needed. Also why would i have been told to come Back i got to the deli around 7:10. Further more i walk away and i see the slicer moving after i leave. Maybe prepping for the next day but why would we stop slicing for customers tell them we stop slicing and then start slicing for potential customers and not take care of the customers in front of us. What was so confusing to me is when she was saying good but to the friend she was so sweet but as soon as i asked for something that was clearly in her JOB description even her tone changed! I actually worked for Winco deli in Fontana over 15 years ago ! This is not a horrible company to work for have more pride in what you do or don't do it at all ! Today at self-checkout I had another negative experience with one of the attendants she is a older lady. She hovered over me during my entire purchase as if I was going to steal something, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary. When I forgot my wallet and needed assistance, she wasn't paying attention, so I switched to the next machine. Instead of noticing and helping me as part of her job, she loudly announced in front of everyone that I should have told her, which felt like she was trying to embarrass me. Once I finished paying, she even came up to me to claim I hadn't paid for a bag, even though I clearly had. This isn't the first time I've had a problem with her, and at this point it feels like a pattern. Employees working self-checkout should be paying attention to customers so that we don't have to go out of our way to chase them down for help, not policing or humiliating them. Her behavior comes across as rude and unprofessional, and it makes me not want to shop at WinCo. read more
