I installed a new head unit in my ride, but the final wire (for the safety features built into video units) that splices into the parking brake switch was too difficult for me to hook up. I talked to 2 other places in the area; one didn't seem to know what they were talking about, and the other didn't want to perform the work. The crew (1 guy, actually) at static did it within 10 minutes of me arriving... He reached up, with his back on the floor of my car, and spliced the wire in a matter of minutes, without removing panels or anything, and my install was working! They were very friendly, as well. I can't thank them enough for helping me finish my install for a Jackson. You might be thinking that was a lot of money for 10 minutes, but saving me from the frustration of getting way up under/behind the dash was worth it in my book. This place definitely knows what they are doing! I got recommend to come here by a family friend and I was glad they sent me there. They were quick but very efficient and they were a lot less inexpensive than the place I was originally quoted! Not only did they install the subs and an amp but after they were done they asked me to try it out and see what I think. My license plate frame rattled a little from myself not their fault, and they took the cover off and put tape on it to stop the rattle and it worked. But they really took the extra effort to make sure that I was happy with the result and I was more than happy! I don't remember how I came across this shop about 2 or 3 years ago but all I can say is each time I go in, I feel appreciated and respected. You know you are dealing with an honest crew. I believe the first time I had the control buttons fixed on my steering wheel before a long road trip. When I decided to get a JVC unit head installed as a replacement to my factory stereo, it was done professionally and in a timely manner. I wasn't hassled to be unsold on anything, even considering my AM frequency does not work and I would need an antenna to catch the frequency. And each time my car was serviced at a mechanic and I couldn't figure out how to reset the JVC to its original setting, I would show up unannounced and be helped within a minute and at no charge. I have never made an appointment to that point, always just show up unannounced and am help right away. Today, Jose helped me to uninstall my subwoofer and when I was told the cost of labor to which I thought was very high, he just said float me a few bucks and I'll take care of it and within minutes. Yes the labor prices are high here but you know you are getting quality products and you are keeping a mom and pop shop in business. They inspect all the products they purchase and make sure you are driving away with something that you won't have to come back with an issue. Mike and his sons are great people and so glad they kept Jose on after the transfer of ownership. I will continue to shop here as long as I want to mess with my cars! read more

I am giving one star because it is not possible to give less. Yesterday, I brought in my new Dodge Ram to have an alarm system installed. I was assured that they could do this. I brought the vehicle in at 9:00 a.m. and by 3:30 p.m., it was still not installed. At this point, apparently they did not know how to install the system and ended up putting the vehicle back together with no alarm system. At no time did they express that they were sorry they were unable to do the job or that they wasted my day. Also, they worked dirty and there is now a stain on the fabric seat that was not there before. read more

I had been having problems with my car alarm for about six months and finally decided to get it checked out. This place had good ratings so I decided to check it out. Because I did not know exactly what was wrong with my car alarm, they checked it out for free. I had a faulty sensor that was causing my car alarm to randomly go off, and they told me I should see if it was still covered under warranty from the dealership I bought it at. I don't live near the original dealership and was impressed that they were willing to look at my car for free that I came back a few weeks later to get a new alarm system from them. They were very friendly and I got a new alarm system from them for just about $200. They are also located close to the Topanga Mall, so I wasn't stuck waiting in the sun or in a nearby restaurant for my car to be worked on. I would recommend this place if you're looking to get any audio/alarm work done. read more

I'd gotten an old (2001) Mustang that needed a lot of work and I've been fixing it up over time. After finally get it mechanically sound and a new top put on, it was time for the most important upgrade, the sound system! After standing in the Best Buy car audio department for about 15 minutes with not so much as one employee saying even "excuse me" as he passed, I decided this wasn't a project I'd like to take on myself. I checked Yelp to see who in my area was recommended, and there was Static Cellular and another place. I went to the "other place" first and spoke with someone who was very knowledgeable and immediately identified the deficiencies in my current sound system. Only problem was, it was way out of my budget. From there, I drove directly to Static and had them take a look. They too were able to quickly identify the same issues and came in at about half (yes, half!) the price for quality equipment. Needless to say, I had them do the work. Not only was it completed in a timely manner, they cleaned out all the old wiring and vacuumed when they were finished.
