I'm currently writing this review from my gorgeous midtown apartment that wouldn't have been possible without Oneil Williams, our incredible DJK Broker. A few weeks ago I was at the end of my wits and never thought I would find a place in this crazy city. I had been living in Montreal with my fiancee for the past 6 years and neighborhoods, broker fees and 13 month leases were all a mystery to me. I had gotten a job in the city that was going to start in a few weeks so, true to form, I started looking 2.5 weeks before my start date. Things weren't promising after 2 days of our search, and my fiancee went to yelp to find a broker in desperation. That's when DJK came in. After talking with the dispatcher I got a call from Oneil within 5 minutes. I gave him our requirements on price, neighborhood and some details (my fiancee is terrified of rats so we needed a new building) and Oneil promised to get us an itinerary. Half an hour later we were meeting up in midtown and were off to our first apartment. It was all very Jason Bourne like - he was a real operator and got us into some incredible places that we hadn't found after weeks of personal research. And not to be distracted too much by his professionalism, he was a genuinely cool guy. It takes a rare person to basically hang out for the entirety of an afternoon with two random people and Oneil was that kind of guy. We were laughing the whole time and shooting the breeze from appointment to appointment. We even stopped by for a quick drink (his treat!) during some downtime which was super cool. In the end, we were able to find an apartment that my fiancee and I fell in love with. But the story doesn't end there. Not one to fly away once the sale was closed, Oneil made sure we were able to move in by the date we needed, letting us use his fedex account to get some important lease documents across the country. in addition to calling the right people and helping us navigate a touchy situation. In the end, we were able to move in just in time. None of this would have been possible without Oneil or DJK Residential. I'm about to hit my building's rooftop hot tub overlooking midtown with a drink in hand and the gratitude is not lost on me. tl;dr DJK Residential will hook it up. Selling an apartment, particularly in NYC, can be a daunting and difficult experience. However, any concerns we had were alleviated when working with our broker, Fainna Kagan. Fainna is truly professional, very intuitive and has extensive knowledge of the NYC real estate market. During our first meeting, Fainna recommended listing our apartment at a price higher than what we expected. We were surprised by this, but Fainna had clearly done her research. She came armed with similar sales in our building and neighborhood and had a precise understanding of where our apartment fell within the spectrum. Fainna was absolutely right in her assessment. Within a week of listing our apartment, we had multiple offers, most of which were at or above asking. We had a signed contract shortly thereafter. Fainna was very involved in every step of the process. She helped us stage and photograph our apartment so that it could be seen in its best light. She coordinated directly with our building to arrange an open house. When the open house garnered a lot of interest and became quite crowded, Fainna still managed to connect with prospective buyers. When it came time to make a decision between offers, Fainna helped us determine not only which offer was strongest, but also which one made the most sense for our needs as a family. Fainna was there every step of the way. She went above and beyond what the average broker would do. Working with Fainna was such a pleasure. She has an obvious knack and enthusiasm for real estate. She saw the potential in our apartment and made sure others saw it too. She is extremely forthcoming and direct. Her negotiation skills are stellar, likely as a result of her prior experience as an attorney. Most importantly, however, Fainna listened to our needs and made sure that we were comfortable throughout the process. We could not have asked for anything more. I could not wait for the opportunity to inform you both of the most professional and positive experience my daughter and I had with LisaFegley-Petti. I first was contacted by her after an online contact with the agency. She wasted no time getting back to me. She listened attentively, ask very appropriate questions, and seemed to completely embrace my needs and concerns. Following our first call, I received a lengthy summary email outlining every detail of our conversation. I have to say, this is what sold me to go with her, as opposed to the several other brokers I had contacted over the previous weeks. From that email forward, Lisa was in constant contact via text and email and phone calls. We were traveling from Boston early Monday am and had a time limitation of Monday afternoon and Tuesday. Lisa had impressively set up 10 apartments for us to visit on Monday afternoon. In 98 degree heat, we hit the pavement upon arrival to the city. She was completely organized, timely, efficient, and pleasant!!!!! Lisa contributed her professional as well,as her personal opinion on each and every unit as it related to our needs. She was dead on! Monday evening and Tuesday morning multiple calls exchanged between Lisa and myself. Tuesday afternoon papers being signed. Many outstanding issues lingered as other parents were out of country and state. Wednesday, close of business, all documents filed appropriately, Thursday am, approval. As evidenced by above timeline, only a true professional could accomplish all that successfully in such a short period of time, while also keeping all parties updated, educated, and calm. . I have an older daughter who will be looking for housing in New York City next month. Lisa is on speed dial for that one! First off, my boyfriend and I looked at Craigslist, to which we later found out is full of many ads that are scam. We ended up with a great 1 bedroom, separate large living room and separate kitchen (decent size) for 2g/month... and no pet fee. It's a 5 story walk up but the location in the UES is great. Our Realtor was Carol Armstrong. If you're looking for patience and a fun time while seriously looking for a place, she is THE ONE to work with. First off, after calling between 15 to 20 brokers, all of which we looked up through yelp, almost all didn't call back or fell through. Many said they would call back which they didn't or in cases, never answered. Carol, however, responded promptly... she took the initiative to even point out a listing within 2 hours of our call to her. A few days later, I met her and wasn't so impressed with the first apartment but she was prepared with printouts of multiple locations. It was nice to have choices and an agent who was by our side and fighting for us. We think very highly of her. She was persistent in our search. After 5 viewings, one stood out in the East Village. With the proper paperwork, our application was submitted for approval. In the meantime, on another day, Carol showed other listings. The apartment we ended up with definitely stood out. Finding an apartment is a difficult thing to do but don't stress out. You will have choices.... maybe not as many as you would think BUT there are some places that are gems. I was moving to New York City because of my new job and I needed to find a place within a month. My work had referred me to this company and was assigned to work with DJK real estate sales person, Alexander Gross. I had been working with another realtor prior, and had looked at 7 places on a Friday with him and didn't find any winners, it was very disappointing. The following day, Saturday, my husband and I met with Alexander. Because it was a weekend, he wasn't able to get us into any apartments and was only able to get us into one apartment, which he was able to find the son of the Super to get access to the apartment. This apartment ended up being our New Home! Although, we had viewed half a dozen of places with the other realtor, he didn't listen to our wants and needs. But Alexander Gross did, and we love our apartment and our neighborhood. Most importantly, Alex was informative in letting us know the NYC lifestyle (we are from WI), and gave us pointers on where to get our laundry done, find the nearest affordable parking garage, and the nearest metro station. Most importantly, he found a great neighborhood by a beautiful nearby park so we can take our dog for walks. He was very knowledgeable of the area and even showed us around the neighborhood. My husband and I would definitely recommend Alexander to anyone in need of a new home! He was fantastic to work with and was incredibly attentive to our needs. I write to enthusiastically endorse Carole Armstrong to be your realtor. After spending nearly a year with two different brokers, attempting to either sell or rent my Central Park West townhouse, I was beyond frustrated and considering an offer of $3.3 million. Carole educated me to the fact that the property was not being effectively marketed and that the price I was asking was too low. Upon giving her the listing, she immediately remarketed it, with a more elegant description, a higher price, and maximized exposure in the marketplace. Regina helped me find an apartment in NYC towards the end of May. My situation was complicated because I was moving from Florida in the middle of the pandemic, no leasing agencies were doing any touring, I hadn't been to NYC in almost 10 years, and I had to find somewhere that would accept a 100 pound dog! We only had a couple weeks to find a place where I could sign a lease, sight unseen. Regina made the process super smooth and easy. She was very responsive and attentive, she always answered texts, emails, or phone calls. I was also very nervous about picking out a neighborhood but Regina helped reassure me about the area and gave her insight on every location we considered, based on her long-time experience living in NYC. I feel like she went above and beyond because any time a leasing agent was taking a long time to get back to us, Regina would contact them through multiple channels and make sure we got a prompt response. Just moved to NY with my wife and our two kids. We were extremelly pleased to be assisted by Sindi Schorr from DJK during our apartment hunting. Sindi has made an excellent job on showing us different options of apartments and helping us to find the perfect place for our family within few days. I would say that she had easily realized what we were looking after the first two apartments we were looking and made a bet on which one we would choose, and was fully right in her bet. I would say that Sindi was extremelly professional, fair and honest when showed us each apartment, describing the pros and cons of each area, how to commute and to carry on our lifes at each neighborhood (supermarket, banks, etc...), proving her knowledge on each single area of the city. In addition to all of this, she was also extremelly patient with us, as looking for the apartments withh two kids was not easy. We had friends that came to NY and told us that finding an apartment would be the most tough part of our relocation process. I worked with Bianca Tickner on a resale home in Williamsburg recently in which she represented the seller and I represented my buyer client. And it is not the norm in the industry to write a review for a fellow broker. But I have to toot the horn a bit for Bianca because she was such a joy to work with. I worked with Sarah Lin at DJK last year to find a condo for my college daughter to stay in. Being from out of state in PA and not familiar with real estate in New York, we didn't have any idea of the overall market, price expectation and location. Sarah has been a tremendous help throughout a 9 month long search experience, and exceeded our expectation and made the experience more manageable. All I can say is thank goodness for Andrew Carr. We had already been in contact as I knew I'd be moving in May. Andrew was helping me figure out which neighborhoods to target and how to appropriately manage my expectations (and budget!). But on March 12th, I sent Andrew an email in a panic. Thanks to extenuating circumstances, I had to be in a new place by March 30th (18 days!). Now, real estate in NYC moves fast but I was asking Andrew to work at a breakneck pace. He kindly worked around my inflexible work schedule. I could only afford to take 1 day off work. He met with me near my office for lunch to discuss locations and budget and within 3 days, he had carving out an entire day to show me 15 (!!) apartments. From 9:30am - 6:30pm, Andrew and I looked at apartments. The whole time he was a joy to be around and a fountain of knowledge. He asked the tough questions but never made anything feel forced. I didn't feel uncomfortable around him once--which is very important, I've only ever had very negative experiences with brokers in NYC. I knew he was on my team, not on the team of his broker's fee. We moved from Switzerland with three young children and were looking for a two BDR in Manhattan UWS. Our Realtor was Josephine Vinci. If you're looking for patience, availability and someone who's taking time to search the right place where you will feel good with your family she is the perfect one! My husband first came for a pre-trip and she was very helpful in the choice of the neighborhood for people who first didn't knew New York at all. She took him for a lots of visit in the range of our budget and with our long list of must-have (bright apartment, open kitchen , W/D in unit, large living room and so on) Josephine was very competent and very friendly, she took the whole family with her own car to visit different neighborhood during the coldest days of december and was also very honest when the apartment seemed to be to small or too dark to live in! She also was always here to help us with the tons of papers and administrative documents. We ended with a gorgeous 2 BDR/2BTH very bright with a fabulous view on the Hudson River (that was not in our must have list!) -so we strongly recommend Josephine VINCI as perfect Broker! read more

I worked with Phil Comella at DJK last year looking for an apartment for my daughter who had just moved to NYC. Being from out of state and not having any experience with real estate in New York, my perception of what I was going to encounter was extremely skeptical. I could not have been more wrong. This review is long overdue. When my boyfriend's job relocated us to NYC, time was of the absolute essence. His company used DJK as our relocation realtor and Bianca Tickner was our agent. Bianca rose above and beyond for us in a very limited amount of time. Our initial meeting and showings were exactly what we described that we were interested in....and it turns out we didn't know anything about NYC. Bianca took that initial meeting, and all of our feedback and 3 days later, knocked it out of the park for us. She found us multiple locations, buildings and options for us that were all within our budget and accomdated our two dogs. She really did an outstanding job; not only on her end of finding apartments but in customer service and communication. She was wonderful. Sindi Schorr , I have just moved from Egypt to NYC , I started my work early Jan and It was a challenge to find an apartment within 1 month given that I was out of the city for about 3 weeks during this month. The perfect lady (Sindi Schorr) really helped me as if i was one of her relatives or someone she cares about alot, on the other hand she exerted alot of effort finding me an apartment withing my budget.Worth to mention, that I went out with Sindi for viewing only two times and each time she prepared for me a list of apartments within my budget and brand new as I wish. I ended up in a wonderful studio in Astoria on the river and with very decent price. And this what i called the perfect mix ;). Apart from the apartment search , Sindi was very helpful during my first day tour , as she took me to the bank and the Social security office in couple of hours we finished everything. As newcomers in the country and the city, we spent 3-4 weeks looking at apartments. My wife, our 2 year old daughter and myself saw about 30-35 apartments. We had a long list of needs and wants. And although you know you can't get it all, you keep on looking for the best: a child friendly neighborhood, preferably upper east or upper west (or Brooklyn), close to an express subway station, 2 bedroom apartment, modern and light with enough space and all that within a budget... Lisa Fegley-Petti of DJK residential was the last real estate agent who took us around and I'm sure we were not the easiest clients she'd seen in her life. But she prepared well and she showed us some really nice apartments, one of which we chose and eventually rented. And it has it everything we looked for. My roommates and I were looking to move out of our cramped and overpriced midtown Manhattan highrise apartment into a comfortable, updated, and reasonably priced 5-bedroom apartment -- an impossible find. On top of that, we had all these restrictions in location due to our varying commuting needs (offices in midtown, Bronx, CT...). Despite our desired Aug-Sept move date, we decided to start early in June and got in touch with Alex Gross. He kept his eyes peeled for us all summer, contacting us with possible leads. He eventually found us our home in late July which met all of our criteria. On top of it, the place was so new that finishing touches were still being made when we signed the lease. He worked with the landlord to get us in first to see the apartment, and fought for us to ultimately get it. We were able to move in a week later, and couldn't be happier! I highly recommend Alex Gross to anyone who is looking for a broker that will listen to what you want and need, not waste your time, and work to make the apartment search process as painless as possible. read more

My broker Laila Boujoual was phenomenal. I can't express my gratitude with the level of service I received from Laila. She was so accommodating, professional and a class act. During our first introduction over the phone, I immediately was attached to Laila, she was warm, had a great sense of attitude and really did a lot of leg work for me. I was in the relocating from Houston, Texas to New York with my employer, prior to engaging DJK I was doing searches on my own and it began to be overwhelming. Recently rented an apartment in Manhattan through DJK! I HIGHLY recommend Jason. He was very attentive and responsive to all of my questions/texts. He was always available and explained everything from showing the apartment, to the signing of the lease. We saw about 7 different places but none of the agents were as responsive and helpful as Jason. We were looking at apartments during the busy winter holiday season, but Jason still kept contact between us, him and management. He kept us updated with what he was doing and what he planned to do, which gave my roommate and I a great understanding of the process. Furthermore, as new renters in NYC, Jason gave us advice on how to apartment hunt, which was invaluable to us during our search. We were able to find our apartment and Jason was able to accommodate a very quick turnaround (signed lease yesterday and move-in 2 days after).
