This is a really nice family oriented stay with a friendly staff, inviting and attractive look inside and out. The rooms are equipped with everything you need as if you were at home: kitchen area with sink, dishwasher, built-in stove and oven on the counter, fridge, toaster, coffee/tea maker, crockery, utensils, pots and pans, electric iron and board, hair dryer, office area, lovely bathroom and even a sectional couch. There is a back patio with a cute little water fall, lots of seating and a bar-b-q grill. There's free breakfast buffet (not much variety) and the gym is closed due to covid-19 . There is a plaza right next door with several restaurants and store so you can walk and let that be your exercise . I gave 4 star because of the gym being closed and I was looking forward to a great workout during my stay and there's no pool. All in all definitely recommended.

Very nice amenities. Room was clean, quiet, and up to date and LITERALLY across the street from Texas Tech campus. Includes a full sized fridge, two burner stove, microwave, dishes, pots, pans, forks, knives, etc. They even have two gas grills at the pool area. I was there for a quick trip, but this would really be great for an extended stay. I didn't get to partake since it was a quick trip, but they seem to have very nice free drink and food evenings. See photos for a picture of the food menu. Looked GOOD! Wi-Fi was terribly slow at the end of the hallway - only reason for not getting 5 stars but I would stay again!

Be careful because they will give away your room even if you reserve ahead of time and show up on time for check in.

They took us in after the Hampton Inn overbooked and tried to make the stay better. Thanks!

This place WAS a really nice hotel, it has been run down over time sadly…read more Im not really a bad review writer but if I am paying a premium for a hotel I should be receiving what I pay for. Which didn't happen. I booked this for my wedding guests and wedding party; most hotels feel like a hospital but this one seemed more cozy and unique. Which is true its cozy but clearly they have stopped doing normal maintenance on it. Which was is embarrassing being i put my closest friends and family there. Booking was a pain through their "portal" and a huge hassle and the booking agent was almost never available. When I arrived my room smelled musty, not a huge deal to me but not cool to make me smell weird. The bathroom and counter needed a wipe down. The previous guests towel was still damp and hanging on the door. So that makes me think that it was cleaned well, maybe at all.‍ The head board had grease spots where the previous how many ever guests had rested there head as well as toothpaste splatters on the mirror frame. Also the AC wasn't really working all that well in my room but I think maybe it was just mine. Then there was many cosmetic issues like peeling wallpaper, damaged tiles, missing paint and huge dings in the hall walls. I had to ask multiple times for them to refresh the bathroom. Some of the staff is nice some not so much. Like I said it WAS a nice place but clearly needs better management and repairs. I paid for better.

I mean for 140$ we got a suite with queen beds (comfortable) and a room with a living room. However…read morethe hotel itself needs some TLC. Although the bed was clean and comfortable, the chair at the desk was really wobbly so no one was comfortable sitting there and most of the furniture was pretty badly dinged. Then I guess there was a special singer in the courtyard which made it hard to hear the tv or anything in our room. I do appreciate it but trying to put a kiddo to bed with loud live music made it hard to do. Overall, I appreciated our stay, and again for the price it's plenty of clean space, with a little wiggle room for improvement.

I don't understand what was causing it to get so dirty but that was a first impression that tracked consistently throughout my stay. The staff aren't really in any kind of uniform so other than standing behind the desk, no way of telling if they are guests loitering in the lobby or employees of this Aloft. One of the elevators was out the entire stay. The other was acting a little buggy. I took the stairs often during my two day, two night stay. The fitness center is small. Not a problem, per se. Kind of on-brand for Aloft. The problem is two of two treadmills were out of commission. I ran in the residential park down the road after taking the stairs. At least all the lights and tech in the room were operational. Located in a strip mall area with a number of restaurants makes it convenient but the lack of concern over maintenance in the common areas makes me reluctant to ever stay here again. And as a Bonvoy member I stay in A LOT of their hotels. I feel like I should get a points rebate for using points during this stay.

Did not go in with the highest expectations and it was as expected!…read more Check in was easy, then you go to a tired elevator and hallways with carpet well beyond its prime ! Upon opening the room it has a light sewer smell and the duvet did not look fresh and was rumpled as though it had been laid on before. Room is a typical Aloft so basic dorm like. Always like the Dry Bar bathroom amenities but they would have been a lot better if there was any water pressure - sink was ridiculous and could not properly rinse my toothbrush! View is more rooms and a flat field but not expecting more than that ! Kept blinds shut so I did not have to look at my neighbors. Think from now on will just do a really long day with early flight in and late flight out negating the need for a hotel !!

Overall the hotel is very good and is close to excellent. There were a few minor issues, but fortunately the front desk addressed my concerns. I am so glad I stayed at the Overton for my graduation. The customer service is top-notch which overcame the small issue of the loose border panel in room 1302 and the pillows not having pillow cases. This issue was quickly fixed and we were given breakfast vouchers as an apology. Overall this hotel is great and I will stay again whilst visiting Lubbock. (Suggestion for improvement, put a safe in each room). Despite the minor flaws, I will stay again and recommend others to stay at the Overton, too! Oh, the items offered at the breakfast buffet are delicious, especially the tomato grits, which I never had until staying at the Overton. The pool area is a nice place to gather. Thank you for providing a backdrop for a photo spot for graduation. Keep up the great work! I am eager to stay again the next time I visit Lubbock.

She said e pool was open when we complained all the anent were not available. Apparent, they just expect you to just ignore the dirt that's settled at the bottom. Additional photos to show the housekeeping services. Lazilymade the bed and didn't reset the pillows. Didn't take the time top prepare or properly clean the room, so don't lift your toilet lid. They likely don't either. The other room photos are likely for larger corporate or partner events. Leisurely travel is night and day because our room looked nothing like the photos. When it comes to shower water pressure, bring your own tools to clear the jets in the shower heads. These things have enough calcium build up to cure osteoporosis. In closing, Selena was unprofessional and needs to work on her people skills. She's also the one that said tue "dirt tank", aka pool, was open for use. She needs to be fired or at least get some actual hospitality management training. The only plus side was proximity to the Tech campus and Logie's. Now: bring your own laundry bag because athe one they gave us was the size of a gift bag ‍
