Don't stay here!!!! This is a nice hotel but the housekeeping and night staff have ruined it! The bedding wasn't changed, the floors weren't vacuumed, and the shower had hair in it and didn't drain. I told the ladies at the front desk and got courtesy points for the hotel inconvenience. read more

My son goes to Tech, so coming from Houston, a hotel is a must. Each trip I have stayed at different places surrounding the campus and this past trip brought me here. Staybridge so far has been the closest proximity to my son's dorm. I can literally see his dorm from the parking lot. No complaints there. Price wise, this has been the most budget friendly so far. At the same time, you get what you pay for like in most situations. It's older and definitely more dated than some of the other hotels. That isn't a deal breaker for me. After a long drive or flight, you just want some place to lay your head. Staff was quick with check, not overly friendly. I had to kind of do my own research on breakfast (which is included). My room was huge. It has a whole kitchenette and living area and a bed off to the other side of the room. Bathrooms are old and need some remodeling. One lamp did not work which was needed to charge my devices. When you turn on the TV you have to go to the side and push a button every time until it is turned on the correct input. Bed was comfy enough to get a couple nights of good sleep. I felt like the place was clean overall and social distancing was enforced. Overall for the value, it was a solid choice, but I am sure I will keep making my rounds until I find the best value and still get the best amenities. read more

This is a really nice family oriented stay with a friendly staff, inviting and attractive look inside and out. The rooms are equipped with everything you need as if you were at home: kitchen area with sink, dishwasher, built-in stove and oven on the counter, fridge, toaster, coffee/tea maker, crockery, utensils, pots and pans, electric iron and board, hair dryer, office area, lovely bathroom and even a sectional couch. There is a back patio with a cute little water fall, lots of seating and a bar-b-q grill. There's free breakfast buffet (not much variety) and the gym is closed due to covid-19 . There is a plaza right next door with several restaurants and store so you can walk and let that be your exercise . I gave 4 star because of the gym being closed and I was looking forward to a great workout during my stay and there's no pool. All in all definitely recommended. read more

Interesting experience. Paid hotel type of fees, experienced motel expense. Rooms looked run down and extremely old. You can tell nothing has been updated in YEARS. There was a moth nest in the room. No joke. Upon checking in (at 3pm) they mentioned room was not ready and they had to clean it. I specificially chose this place bc they had a pool and nice gym. Well, pool was empty and gym had cardio machines "out of service." I normally wouldnt even yelp but I looked today on my charges and They charged me twice, which surprisingly is $110 per night. Yes, I got charged $430 for two nights. OBVIOUSLY they will fix this error, but cmon Staybridge... I was going to let the other disgusting things go then when you charged me twice, that was the rub. Sure, choose this spot if you want motel experience for hotel rates. read more

Very nice amenities. Room was clean, quiet, and up to date and LITERALLY across the street from Texas Tech campus. Includes a full sized fridge, two burner stove, microwave, dishes, pots, pans, forks, knives, etc. They even have two gas grills at the pool area. I was there for a quick trip, but this would really be great for an extended stay. I didn't get to partake since it was a quick trip, but they seem to have very nice free drink and food evenings. This is a Motel 6 actually. Dirty/old & stale. Bathtub filled with water when taking a shower. The pull out couch when pulled out had a mattress topper that was literally full of bodily fluid stains The place smells... Not a whole lot more to say, gross. read more

Price wise, it is a large space for an affordable price. We had the king bedroom with fold out couch suite. Came for a visit with my son to Texas Tech and it is right across from the campus. Check in was quick. Now for the not so good parts. The building is older and the boards in the hallway creek, like you could fall through. A blanket and pillow were provided for the fold out couch but no sheets and only 2 towels. The place could use a good scrubbing, carpet cleaning, and some quality (not shotty) repairs. The walls are super thin; I could hear someone snoring in the adjacent room and nonstop traffic outside. Overall, if you want room for cheap, this will do the job. If you want comfort and quiet, go a little further away from campus. read more

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was in the perfect location for where I needed to be. I was there for work and it was less than 2 miles from where I needed to be. being right across the street from Texas Tech, I see why it was a great location. I loved the view and everything else that was close by was very convenient. The price was fantastic too. I felt very safe at this hotel as well. I wasn't scared to be alone in the parking lot, and my room was very clean and well laid out . Very nice hotel. read more

Fell into this gem. The rooms are great, staff is kind, wonderful and hard working. I would stay again. The pool had issues during our stay and we were unable to enjoy it. The hallways were hot. Arrived at this hotel after reserving and paying for a room through Trip Advisor, to find the hotel had canceled my reservation. I was not the only one in the lobby being mishandled in this way. Apparently they were book full and continued to sell rooms through third party vendors. The one star is for the unprofessional way this hotel handled this debacle. It was completely not their fault. I was condescendingly told "that's why you don't go through third parties!" The reality is that Staybridge software continued to show availability and sell rooms. Completely unwilling to tell the truth or stand behind the issue. read more

I loved the homey atmosphere of the hotel. The staff was nice and warm. The room was well appointed and clean and I loved the breakfast buffet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lubbock. It's also a 15- to 20-minute walk to Texas Tech. read more

We have stayed here many times over the past 17 years and used to love it. The last time we stayed here they were remodeling and the whole place was in disarray. Understandable for a remodel. We returned recently and the "remodel" has not been maintained very well. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed it had been updated at some point. Water stains over the shower, ... The first room they gave us had stains on the pillowcase, a refrigerator that sounded like a freight train, stained hand towel, ...- just icky. This is not a cheap hotel. I would think they would care more. There is no manager at this location, and that is very evident. Employees were very nice and seemed to be trying their best, but with no clear leadership there is only so much they can do. I felt bad for the employees that the company would put them in this position. It's not fair to them. With newer, nicer hotels close by, I would think they would work harder to compete. This was absolutely our last stay at this hotel. read more

This hotel is so clean and so thorough, I feel like I'm at a much higher class of hotel when I'm there. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Lubbock - this is the best. The room looked like an old Batman villain's lair with the lampshades crooked, cantilever table hanging down from the wall, doors sagging from the hinges to the point that they scraped on the floor, and the bathroom had no fan but just a hole in the ceiling. To add to this insult of a room, the hotel charges $5.00 per night for parking in their own lot! It may be across the street from campus but it's a big campus and there are much better hotels across the street. read more

The hotel is very clean with helpful staff. The room came with a kitchen, granite countertops, living area,kingsize bed and two LG flat screen TVs. The price was $50 per night via Priceline.com. A deal for sure. Mornings offer a free breakfast, evenings free snacks with comp beer and wine. A nice pool area with a huge hot tube. Bar-B-Cue grill by Brinkmann. The cons. Paper thin walls. You can hear your neighbors and the police sirens at night. The keys were not always working. Problems with access to the room and the pool area. The best place to stay in Lubbock. read more

Pros: Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Breakfast was great. Fitness center was well equipped and close by my room. Location was convenient. We were there for a wedding on the Tech campus. Maid service was great. Cons: our room was on the end of the hall by the stairs and on the first floor. I doubt that is generally an issue but this time they were renovating the third floor and they got to work early in the AM and I was loud as they went up and down the stairwell. Our A/C cooled the living and kitchen area very well but the cool never made it to the bedroom half and so that half of the room was a bit uncomfortable. I like it cool to cold at night and could only get it mildly cool. I would stay there again. read more

I stayed here this past weekend on a business trip to Texas Tech University. What a great place! The room was VERY functional for business travel. It had a reasonably sized desk, as well as a small couch - so that you didn't have to watch TV sitting in or on the bed. Plus the accompanying kitchen was a nice touch. The breakfast was very well done, and while they said it didn't start until 6:30am, both mornings I was there it was available earlier than this - which was great considering I had to leave at 6:30am on the second day. The hotel was great and the staff was amazing. One suggestion would be to update your pictures on Priceline. I ended up booking through the actual hotel, but if we didn't have friends who already had a room there I would not have booked this hotel due to the non-updated pictures. I have stayed at this Staybridge multiple times for business. This is the nicest staff I have ever encountered at any hotel. The person checking me in said, "How have you been? It's been a while!" and the last time I had stayed there was over three months prior. The manager's reception food is decent, but there's nearly always a manager there that is very friendly and easy to talk to. The rooms are pretty average. Fair TV, couch, desk, stove, full refrigerator, bath with vanity outside bathroom. The bed is nice. I always sleep very good here. Only con I have is that depending on which direction you're coming in from you might have to go past the hotel and turn around to get in. This can be difficult during rush hour. If you are going to the Tech campus you won't find a better location. There are also several local restaurants close. Would definitely recommend. read more

Great weeklong stay for me. Right across from Texas Tech University. Lots of nearby restaurants. The hotel staff was helpful and very nice. My room reservation was made by our business office and was wrong on the days; but the staff just said, "No Problem, we have your room ready" and that was that. They have happy hour with beer, wine and hot snacks (pizza, burgers, etc.) on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The pool was nice and the exercise room had plenty of equipment. I like the extra space and kitchen in the rooms. They have a full sized coffee pot and provide the coffee for it each day (this matters very much to me). They do have breakfast too. Eggs, bacon or sausage, fruit yogurt, waffles and lots of carbs. Very standard stuff. read more

I found my room to be old. The bed was really uncomfortable. The room was an odd shape and I couldn't get the thermometer to work on the wall. Then I realized I should have used the box by the window. The refrigerator is bid big and makes noise. The social hour was a nice touch, but the hamburger and sausage were just ok. This isn't the worst room, but it's a 3 star property. I heard it was going to be renovated. If this happens, it will make it a whole lot better. Great location. read more

This was a nice play to stay during my business trip in Lubbock. The front desk was extremely friendly and greeted me with a smile and a greeting each and every time I passed by her desk, very nice. The breakfast is complimentary and it was as good as a free breakfast usually is, cereal, waffles, eggs, bacon or sausage, breads and juice and coffee. Good way to start the day. There were two computers in the business center and a printer that came in handy for me. There is a small outdoor pool in the back, which looked nice. There is also a workout room with treadmills and a few other devices. There is a gym close by that offers free workouts for guests, so the physically adventurous has that option as well. The room had the standard extended stay essentials including fridge, microwave, sink and dishes and glassware. The manager said that ate planning a renovation in 2016, so it should be even better after that. There was a little wear in the room, but it was clean and the hospitality of the staff was great. It is across the street from Texas Tech, so that was convenient. read more

Pictures are the complete opposite of what the actual rooms look like. Extremely outdated rooms. Needs new employees never been treated so rudely at check in and while asking for a different room because shower was torn apart and poorly put back together and still missing the light fixture with giant hole in ceiling. Good location and close to campus but so not worth the filth and street noise. Just to add a cherry on top tv's don't work either! Now someone is currently smoking dope in the hallway as if it already didn't smell like cigarettes enough. read more

We stayed here for Freshman Orientation for Tech in July 2010. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. We enjoyed having a small kitchen, couch and big screen TV. The elevator was really slow and the outside noise kept waking us up throughout the night. The free breakfast and the location of the hotel were both a plus! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again. read more

Upon arrival, the front desk operations manager, Latricia(sp), advised me that my reservation had been cancelled and there were no more rooms available. I explained to her that nobody in my party had cancelled the reservation. She gave me no information as to why or how it was cancelled. After talking with IHG customer service, I was advised that my reservation was cancelled the day prior by a front desk agent. I was not advised of this, but did notice in my cell phone call records that the Staybridge attempted to call me, but didn't leave a voicemail. The front desk made little effort to remedy the situation. They also told me they were training new employees during the time of my cancellation. I requested that the GM call me at her earliest convenience. Since then, I have reached out numerous times but still have not been able to speak with the elusive General Manager. Being a platinum member, I'm hugely disappointed. I surmise that a new front desk agent accidentally cancelled my reservation and was blocked out from making a new one. If so, why didn't this agent at least leave a message or have IHG customer reach out to remedy the situation beforehand? I've been with IHG for 7 years. Apart from utilizing my points until they run out, I will no longer stay at IHG properties. The quality of service has been in constant decline the last few years. I have cancelled my affiliated credit card, and will advise all of my friends and family to avoid IHG properties. read more

I truly don't like to leave less than great reviews. I was always taught that if you don't have anything good to say, keep your mouth shut. Luckily I do have a few good things to say. First, the front desk staff were great. Smiles, welcoming, made me feel that if there was an issue it would be taken care of. On to the room. It is well appointed although very dated. The wood veneer doors harken back to the 80's. The other appointments are nice, but end up feeling like a splash of paint to cover up old bones. First impression of the kitchen was that it was well appointed. This is a good thing because I picked this place so I could have a kitchen and cook. I really dislike traveling for work. Especially for more than a night or 2 at a time. So when I travel for an entire week I like to have a place that feels homey and allows me to cook my own meals and I hate eating out every meal. Normally I stay at Hyatt Houses but there isn't one in Lubbock. So first impressions were good until I started looking in the drawers. There was a soup pot, a sauce pan and strangely enough a double boiler steamer pan, yet no skillet. I called down the the front desk and the gentleman was very nice, but informed me that they had no skillets for guests. I don't understand how you provide and advertise a full kitchen and fail to provide a simple skillet pan. Well I need to go the the store anyways so although it sucks, I bought a $20 skillet to get me through the week. One of my favorite recipes that doesn't require an oven (no oven at this hotel) is a Cajun chicken Alfredo. So I buy all the ingredients and start heating up the pot of water for the pasta. I check on it about every 5 minutes to make sure it hasn't started boiling. Forty minutes later the water still is not boiling, just simmering. So this place advertises a full kitchen and yet their stovetop won't even boil a pot of water in the pot they provide. Very disappointed now that I have $40 worth of groceries I cannot use. I know probably too much to expect that if they say they have a full kitchen that you should expect full utensils and cookware. Luckily I don't have to come to Lubbock that often. Guess it's back to Hyatt house where they have full range and ovens. read more

I had the most horrible time here, one of the worst times of my life, if not the worst. I suffered at this place! 1) Got the the room, there were bugs and dead roaches everywhere. 2) I had to change my own bed sheets! They'll tell me that they've changed the sheets, but they didn't, so I started changing my own sheets, to make sure I had clean sheets, to sleep on. 3) The internet connection is awful, I had to use the tethering from my cellphone get a better connection. 4) The staff were rude, unprofessional and pure idiots. 5) Last, but not least-I went to the wash room, to wash my clothing and there was another resident in there. Something was wrong with the washer,which never occurred before. Come to find out, the male resident was unplugging the washer. He then offered to help me! He got up, dropped his pants and exposed an erected penis. I had to fight my way, out of the laundry area. When I ran down stairs to inform the staff, they didn't really care. The girl at the front desk, named Crystal, said she'll call the Police emergency line, but she continued to say the "line was busy". I couldn't take the bad treatment/lies, so I went to my room and called the Police,myself. The police came out, I filed a report and I have a copy and number for the report. The Police went to each floor to locate this man, but they couldn't find him. I left the hotel the next day, checked into the Hawthorne----- Marvelous service, anything you needed, they brought it to your room/literally walked it to your room, any accommodations you needed, they provided it, very professional people. STAY AWAY FROM STAYBRIDGE PLEASE, BAD IN EVERY WAY,SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!! read more
