Superb communication. Great results. Fair price. Would hire again…read more Our project was a subfloor repair in our upstairs bathroom. This meant a demo of wood, demo of tile, new carpentry, new tile, reinstall of a fixture, additional pipe, and new baseboards. We decided (without any pressure for add-ons) to extend the work to the whole bathroom floor instead of just the localized area. So our results feel like not just a repair, but a remodel. Things that stood out: Communication - We felt the main point of contact, Anthony, was clear and helpful through the whole process. This is true of every crew member we interactacted with as well. Questions were answered patiently, things were explained clearly, we new what to expect next, there were no overpromises. Everyone that came into our home was respectful. Our input was sought at appropriate times, and we were shown progress consistently. Execution - Everyone seemed competent and capable of the tasks at hand. The results look good, feel good, and inspire confidence. If there was a mess made, it was promptly cleaned up. If there was a concern, it was handled appropriately. Initially I was a little skeptical of the proposed timeline but after seeing the work in action it made sense and was accurate. I would advise any others to just be ready to communicate a little, and inspect the results at each stage, since there might be use of different crews for one stage or another. It felt like a smooth project overall, with a little touchup at the end. Also, someone cleaned our bathroom sink. Didn't even ask for that!

They kept me consistently in the loop and were proactive every step of the way. There were a few items that didn't make it into the original scope of work, and Anthony took care of them without any additional cost. Any change orders I requested were handled professionally and without issue. The project came in on budget and on timeline, and they were also great about offering suggestions and options to help keep costs down. His quote was on the lower end of the others we received, and the quality of work was excellent, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I highly recommend Anthony and his team.

We had James and Dave, do our basement and our bathroom remodeling. They did a great job. We…read morecould've not asked for better guys to work with. We did get 3 different prices, and diamond was almost half the price of everyone else. Which kind of made us a little leery. But as James explained to us, we will not have to pay any money until that portion of the project is complete, which gave us a lot of faith in them. We are very pleased with there wirkmanship.

I should have trusted my instincts when James tried to quit three times, once before even starting…read morebecause enough we were backing out and his guys were going to be left without work -- that was the first red flag. Another major one is the way he talks to people. Just read his responses to reviews -- he actually calls customers "idiots." Who does that? A business owner should never speak to clients that way. Don't let him bully you. To be fair, his crew -- the ones who actually do the hands-on work like framing and drywall -- are polite and hardworking. But James himself is extremely rude and unprofessional. He doesn't treat clients as partners or equals. He called us "kids" multiple times and even said we "must not be happy in our lives" and that we're not his "whipping posts." He also made major decisions without consulting us, like changing insulation plans on the fly. The HVAC work was done using cheap flexible hose for a long dryer vent run instead of proper galvanized piping. They also don't solder copper, so expect everything to be done with PEX. glorified framers -- the drywallers were outsourced. He might offer the lowest price, but you truly get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and pay a bit more for a contractor who treats you with respect and communicates like a professional. When he quit halfway through the job, he left several things incomplete. He never installed the laundry room door, didn't put the light fixture back, and used a 3-inch trim piece where a 5-inch one was supposed to go. They didn't fill nail holes, paint, or caulk any of the trim. Outlet faceplates were never put back on, and he simply walked away leaving it all unfinished. He kept on referring that he gave us a deal and did more work than we paid him for. He referred multiple times to the fact that I talked him down 2-3k off the price like any normal customer should do by negotiating a price. James quit because we asked too many questions and challenged him on things we noticed -- not out of disrespect, but because we have some knowledge of basic remodeling. Instead of having a professional discussion, he took everything personally and left the project incomplete. He will probably respond to this immaturely instead of taking ownership and accountability

Dave was honest, trustworthy and upfront from the start. There was no sugar coating just to get the bid. He put thought into the project and cost aspect. What sealed the deal for us was his suggestion of additional electrical outlets for each daughter. His forward thinking was impressive. With all construction projects, dirt, dust and chaos are expected. We resigned to live that way. Dave surprised us though. A plastic door with a zipper was installed at the beginning of the demolition process. There was no dust and dirt throughout our home. We weren't constantly climbing around tools and construction materials. After each day's work, Dave cleaned up the work area. It was exciting to come home each day to see the progress and NOT see the mess. We are thankful for that alone. The project was on time and within our budget. NO SURPRISES! Dave worked with the materials we choose, which wasn't always ideal. His tile work was amazing and he even added additional shelving in the shower area. He replaced flooring and wall materials. It's amazing how much was done in such a short time frame to make our vision materialize. We love our new pre-teen bathroom with heated flooring! Exactly what we planned. Now the compliments are flowing, Thanks to DJI's professionalism and knowledge, Dave made this project enjoyable. Dave is a leader with excellent communications skills. If you are looking to work with an honest, hard working individual who cares about his clients then choose DJI. The experience will be worth the money spent.
