So my boyfriend and I walked in and got seated immediately. The host was a little unfriendly but we shook it off. We ordered our drinks and waited patiently. The waters came first and then our food order was taken. We waited maybe 20 minutes and our food came before our milkshakes, which we thought was weird as that's never happened to us before. Full Disclosure: I use to work at this location in 2000 and 2001 as a college student. The current GM (Katie) I actually use to work with! She has been there for 18 years and KNOWS her store. She runs it sooo much better than the managers did when I was a cook and she was a server. Hats off to Katie for turning this place around. The food is always excellent, I always feel like I am getting more than my money's worth. The staff is usually composed of students, but they actually care about their job, it must be good coaching from management. I ordered burgers and a shakes yesterday around 2:30 at the drive thru for 4 people. When we got home my burger in particular had this big glob of something gross sitting on top of the bun like the leftover blood and scrapings from burgers cooking. It was almost the size of the top of the bun and as I said, sitting right on top of it. It made the top of the bun greasy it looked gross. Still not sure what it was. I threw it in the trash. Except for the shakes, knowones' condiments on their burger was right. What I need from you, "Steak and Shake' is to make this right. read more

Twice I came to this location and their was a sign over the drive-thru speaker saying "drive-thru closed due to not enough employees" during peak times. Ok?? Twice we dined-in and waited 5 minutes to be greeted and seated with no one ahead of us, then waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken, and then 45 minutes to receive cold food and melted shakes!! Finally, three times I went through drive-thru (when it was open) and spent more than 20+ minutes at the speaker and 10+ minutes in line/at the window. I don't mind waiting for freshly cooked food but to wait 20+ minutes AT THE SPEAKER...is a little ridiculous. I'm actually writing this entire review while waiting at the window. This time I was told that they were "out of ice cream" for their shakes (the whole point of going to Stake n Shake). I was hoping the issue was related to a specific shift (which is why I gave them a second, then third, then fourth, ... then fifth chance) but it doesn't look like it. UPDATE: Just got our food after waiting 11 minutes at the window and it was cold and missing several major items. Didn't bother going in for a refund or for them to fix it and waist more time. Great food horrible service!! I sent my husband to get a order of the 3 Shooters and fries deal. He normally doesn't eat there but only to take the kids for milkshakes and never will again now. He accidentally said steak burgers and fries and the greeter at the window this evening got severely butt hurt about the mistake and made my husband feel he was a huge inconvenience!! Even after he apologized! He would of gladly of pulled forward. Instead the treatment wasn't proper customer service. IMO don't work customer service if you treat your customers with disrespect. This steak and shake has been so inconsistent with being open. We were told they don't have an entire 3rd shift, so they have to close at 11pm now when they are supposed to be 24/7 and are at all other locations in this area. After two times this week, they have lost my business. read more

This steak and shake is always Packed. The food and service are average. This place is in need of a good cleaning . The shoestring french fries are always cold . And their signature item the milkshakes are always thin !! I give them 3 stars because I love the hot dogs they are the bomb winner winner hot dog dinner!! So that keeps me coming back . read more

Tried to call the store and ask for a managers number or how to file a complaint , was hung up on by a rude associate. They're never open at this location , they purposely put TRASH in the drive thru close to closing to avoid customers, there had even been boxed of trash ON the speaker. Steak N Shake the chain is good but I will never go back to this location. We were the only people in the restaurant when they took over an HOUR to get us our food because they "forgot". I've given this "restaurant" enough second chances to say its hands down the worst fast food establishment I've ever had the misfortune of visiting. EVERYTIME I order, something is either missing or wrong.
