Terrible service. We waited about five minutes at the drive-thru while the employee talked on a headset and ignored us. He would say "ready for your order," then immediately start talking to someone else and ask us to repeat things. He repeated the same behavior at the pay window and was completely rude. When we reached the pickup window our food was prepared incorrectly and the drinks were wrong. This Wednesday evening, my husband and I had a taste for burgers with thin beef patties (similar to a smash burger.) Considering the area we were in, S&S was the closest to what we wanted. Based on some of the reviews, we were a bit hesitant. They must be under new management because our food was delicious. We ordered two double cheeseburgers with fries along with drinks. I ordered a grilled cheese kids meal from here and this is what I got... 2 pieces of COLD, NON GRILLED Cheese, AND bread!!!! If I wanted 2 pieces of cold bread and non melted cheese I would have stayed home and let my Dog make me a grilled cheese :) So I had to come home and MAKE myself a grilled cheese.. then my apple sauce was busted open so obviously it spilled in the bag, and my husbands burger was freaking COLD!!! Love Steak 'n Shake! This location as of the time of this review was awful! Location was extremely hot inside(48f outside currently). Most tables are dirty with stuff on them (trash left over food). Associate taking order was nice and helpful. Other associates seemed to be sitting on booths (maybe on break?). Overall this experience was bad. Two Bacon Burgers successfully ordered and paid for...no bacon! Haha. Oh well. The terrible thing is they offered to give me bacon?!? Huh, how will you give me bacon. Okay so then the young lady requested that I drive back around and wait. I did that behind no less than 8-10 additional vehicles because they're drive through only. Why not recreate the order and allow me to just walk up in front of the car sitting and POW, order newly received and I can get home? Waited at the Host/Hostess stand longer than expected for a half empty restaurant. When we asked for a different table in a less crowded section that was already clean, the host seemed put off by request. Order taken in reasonable amount of time and arrived timely. We had the typical Steak & Shake fair. Garlic Double, Bacon Double Cheeseburger and Chocolate Shake. Everything was as expected and to order. Really bad experience. Ordered and did not receive the order. 40 minutes later after several other groups of people that placed orders after me had received their orders, I inquired about my order. A female that appeared to be the manager was very rude and nasty, stating why you walking up to me? I asked the order taker what happened? He stated they have limited staff. Absolutely terrible service, they're beyond slow and get the orders messed up every time we've been here. Inside: The floors are sticky, high chairs are filthy, and you have to search for someone to refill your soda. We ordered shakes last time and we didn't get them until 10 minutes AFTER we'd finished our food and had been contemplating cutting our losses and just leaving. Drive Thru: Super slow and got our order mixed up with someone else's, thank goodness we were paying attention... Groupon gave me a 50% off deal so I got twice my money's worth with the purchase of an electronic giftcard! I had their regular steak burger combo meals, with fries and a side of chilli with fixings and a large drink. First meal was disappointing but they improved for the next two meals. The manager was kind and let me go over the amount left on the gift card when I purchased my last meal at Steak n Shake on this e-card, which was also the best serving of fries, best burger and tastiest chilli. We were in the drive-thru line and I got out so I could send the teenagers inside to place the order inside as the line was NOT moving. We waited about 25 minutes for lukewarm food! I came to this location when they initially opened and may have visited once or twice since then. I will NOT be back. To have waited all that time and have complaints about a kid burger being "hard" and a hot dog being "nasty", that's definitely a problem. I've never tried Steak N Shake before (they barely opened one up in Santa Monica, California) & so after a few hours at Mojobas - my grandparents decided to come here for lunch. I was beyond excited because my aunt use to work at a Steak N Shake & she's always talked about it. The menu was a little bit overwhelming because everything looked amazing but I settled with a chili cheese dog. My brother got some sort of steak-bacon burger and chicken tenders as well. Everything was pretty delicious. Very similar to Johnny Rockets (but much better prices here) We also got shakes to-go. I got a chocolate vanilla shake (it was almost as good as in-n-out) & my brother got a cookies & cream shake. He liked his a lot. Do not visit this location!! We went In and there was only one person in the dining room. We placed I urge order and just sat there. After 30 minutes, I went up to I the counter and asked where our food was and showed the time that it was ordered. We had already seen several people come in and get their food. A few minutes later, the same girl that took our order came to our table with a clipboard with a piece of receipt paper on it. She said " They told me to come out here and take your order ". I don't know if it's the way Steak and Shakes are in GA or what, but this is the very last one I'll be coming to ever again. Not only is the service slow in every single establishment here in Atlanta, but each place has SOMETHING that has made one of us sick. First the shakes in Tucker, then the burgers in Dekalb county, now the cheese fries in Douglasville. I told my husband not to eat them, that they smelled like puke. Like spoiled dairy. For a "burger joint" I was very pleased and impressed. My husband and I were driving back to Alabama after the Honda Battle of the Bands at the Georgia Dome, and we decided to stop at this Steak&Shake for a quick dinner. After seeing the large crowd we decided just to run through the drive thru and eat in the car. Of course, after we got our food we realized that we.could have just gone in, they had more seating than we thought. I also noticed that, despite being extremely busy, we didn't have an overly long wait, our food was still well prepared, and the staff was extremely pleasant, quick, and accommodating. I called the number on the back and I got some I guess corporate number for doing a review. They took my information and said they would have the manager call me that was on a Friday Thursday or Friday I think. Trash in the dining area in a neat little pile right next to a dust pan. Burger came out quickly but no drink. I had to go to the counter to remind someone that I ordered one. The server, Sydney, came by in a couple of minutes with a drink and said she didn't have time to get the drink to my table yet - even though I had a cheeseburger and fries sitting in front of me. 2 stars for the tasty burger.
