You can't beat the price of this place. Our meal was $13 for two along with the milkshakes. The food was very good. It is a very crowded atmosphere and the wait was long every time I went. The last time I went the waitress sat us down at our table and proceeded to sit down with us. She then started cussing about everything. The customers, the employees, and some of her personal life. Our service was really bad.. I mean REALLY bad. the food was alright but the waitress was awful. I think her name was Souja. When we got our food I had to ask for dressing for my salad waited a while for that then ask for silverware. Also had to ask another waitress for refills then spent 15 minutes waiting for a strawberry milkshake to go. When we got up to pay, she comes to the counter to watch another worker check us out and starred me down waiting for a tip. Manager needs to manage staff at this location. I love Steak N Shake but won't return to this location anything soon. I ate here a couple of weeks ago and the red headed waitress had a very bad attitude. She told the host not to put me in her area to be served. I walked out after that conversation and instead ate at zaxbys across the street. I'll never support a business that openly display contempt for a guest. Worst dining experience I've ever had. My husband and I sat at the table for 15 minutes and when my in-laws got there to meet us, my FIL had to get up to get someone to come get our drink orders. Once we got our food (which was cold), we had to ask several times for the same thing which my husband ended up having to go to the counter to ask for again. Very surprising for a Steak 'n Shake. Food was actually very good, place seemed very clean and the lines were not too bad. Went with a group of five people for lunch. We ordered milkshakes. Four of us got our shakes and three of the glasses had stuff on them. I showed the manager. The manager looks at me like I'm dumb and then tells me that came from the waitress putting toppings on the milkshake and I asked her if the wait staff suppose to wash/wipe their hands after adding toppings to milkshakes and Jodi (which was the managers name) tells me no that the wait staff has to hurry and get the food out. I'm sorry id rather wait for clean dishes then stuff on my glasses. Glad I'm not allergic to what was on the dishes there. Walked out and I will not be going back. They lost my business!!! read more

You all have officially lost my business. I have been to multiple steak and shake locations and this one twice. Each time I am assured that I will not get mustard and pickles put on my hamburger after asking for it not to be there and GUESS WHAT? It's always on there. Those are two items that have a strong taste. I have now had to throw away 5 hamburgers. Don't know why I continue going back (I typically love the food). I also had to wait 27 minutes for my messed up burger today.... not ideal. read more

Waitresses are rude and slow. Our waitress was Nicole and she was very nice but the other waitresses were snotty acting and watching the customers pile up at the front door waiting to be seated. We've been here several times, trying to give this location the benefit of the doubt but it's just horrible. The service is just BAD. After sitting at our table for 10+ minutes we were finally greeted. Our server walked away before asking if we needed anything else after our food was placed on the table, thankfully the person who helped run the food asked us. We wanted milk shakes after our meal. We waited AT LEAST 25 minutes. Customers were over in the shake window talking over the milk shakes we had ordered. Maybe it sounds dramatic but I certainly don't want a milkshake or any food that people have been hovering over. People accidentally spit all the time while talking. Finally we just asked to be refunded the money from the milkshakes. I know it's just steak n shake but we went to the Mt. Zion location for YEARS and never experienced anything like we have at the locust grove location. It's just absolutely horrible. read more
