Pretty much the most mediocre breakfast experience around these parts. Food is ok, but nothing to write home about. The service was very ok as well; kinda slow but the waitress was nice. What does Steak 'n Shake have on the other burger craze chains? Not only do they have excellent burgers and shakes, they are open 24 hours! I've frequented this restaurant back in my college days and still enjoy it as an adult today. The menu really caters to all ages. The burgers here are juicy and cooked just right. I am not a big fan of the fries, but my husband absolutely loves them. And don't forget about the breakfast - they have incredibly tasty scrambled eggs and the hash browns are heaven in silver dollar form. They have added some things to their menu in recent years, such as yogurt parfaits and breakfast tacos. This particular location has very friendly staff. I've even seen them host weekend car washes which shows that this location goes out of their way to help out groups in the community. Another thing that I like is that I can order a shake in a kids size to-go cup. It's less expensive and is enough to satisfy my sweets craving without all the calories. All in all, sometimes you just need a burger and shake (at 3pm or 3am) and Steak 'n Shake is the winner. read more

Let me start out by saying the food was fine, our server was clearly new and still learning, very polite but the visit was just terrible. We waited to be sat for a good 5 minutes, in a dining room that had one other patron. We were sat in a dirty booth, next to another dirty booth, that STAYED uncleaned until well into our meal. The server came and took our drink order than disappeared for a solid 15 minutes before a different server asked if he could get us anything to drink. That's when server #1 said "oh yeah!" And brought us our waters. We ordered our food and waited patiently. While waiting for our food, a man who I'm assuming was the shift manager started walking around the empty restaurant, loudly stating that the place was filthy. He and a server argued about a stain on the tile for a good 5 minutes, before the server left to get a mop. As we were leaving, server #1 spilled an entire tray of drinks on his new table of 5. Poor kid. Definitely won't be returning to this particular SnS. Steer clear, there are better quality ones within a 5 minute drive. read more

Came here because I got in late and was hungry. The fries were decent, very skinny and crispy on the outside. The burger was weak, nothing special at all, reminded me of a McDonald's burger or something. The only redeeming quality about this place was the shake. I got the salted caramel pretzel shake and found that quite good. If I happen to be near one of these again and I've got a sweet tooth then perhaps I'll swing in for a shake, but I doubt I'll bother to eat a meal here again. read more

Just left this location. Now I used to work for SnS at a different location so I know how things are supposed to be. The server we had was fine. It was her second day and she did well. The problem was the food and drink. The tea tasted bitter as if the tea bag was old. My husband ordered the chili cheese footlong () and it was made so sloppy he gave up trying to eat it. I ordered a double with cheese and it was ok. Though the manager who dressed our food was very stingy with the condiments. I asked for fresh fries bc I know SnS fries get cold quickly and we received cold fries. At my location we'd at least put the fries back in the fryer for 30 secs to warm them up. I know that still isn't right but it's better than serving cold fries! Maybe it was an off night. I don't know. read more

Very slow service!!! Been waiting for over 20 minutes in drive through line. Definitely not FAST food

By far the worst service at this location. I went there tonight with my husband to get food after I got home from work. I'm guessing unless you're a hot drunk college kid you don't get paid attention to. Ordered our food I ordered a bowl of chili and my husband the royal which comes with an over easy egg on top. My husband specifically asked twice that he wanted the yolk runny. Food comes out without my bowl of chili, and his egg so fried you could use it as a hockey puck. Tried to get our waitress attention and ignored us, I went a grabbed another girl to see if she could help us. I explained I know she wasn't our server but my husband's food came out wrong and my food didn't even come out. She takes his food back and says she will have it fixed. Not more than 30 seconds later she comes walking back with his burger and my pathetic bowl of chili. Checks the burger and it is literally the same damn egg on top just flipped over. They didn't even attempt to fix the egg and give him a new one. I know for the location they won't miss 2 people trying to spend their money in the location but we will never be back to this location. They need to get people in there that actually work, and try treating all customers with the same respect they give the drunk college kids. Seems the servers are more interested in flirting with those guests then trying to be bothered by anyone else. read more

Since 1934 Steak 'n Shake has been a fine establishment in our great country The United States of America. I can remember going back to my childhood with my mouth watering when my mom told me that she got me the Steak 'n Shake (overly breaded) chicken tenders. She would also get me the strawberry milkshake, and the most card-board like fries you have ever had. The cherry on top to this experience was the paper hat i would be dawned upon my lice-infected head. No more than 6 months later, now in college I had an unfortunately horrific experience. The events that happened next will shock you. I gave approximately 9 fries to my fellow steak 'n shake comrade in exchange for him to bestow me the white laced cap which has been an icon of steak 'n shakes obviously well known history. He went up to the counter and asked the woman for the cap, however she literally took a pile of shit, fed it into her mouth and uttered the word to me, "We ran out of paper hats." Flabbergasted. Distraught. Bewildered. These words done even begin to describe the tidal wave of emotions that swelled up inside of me. I know for a fact that they had paper hats, i watched a young lad walk out of the complex proudly wearing that white crested cap. I decided to take matters into my own hands and speak to the women myself. I asked for the hate, she looked around the restaurant as if she never noticed those crusty-ass ceiling lights before. Never lifted a finger to genuinely look. She then proceeded to eat another pile of shit and said "We ran out of paper hats." I stormed out of that eatery and a single tear shed from my eye. Tonight, i didn't just lose the chance to wear a little white cap. I lost my childhood. All of my hopes dreams and memories from then have been completely crushed. If even the cashier at Steak 'n Shake doesn't treat me or my peers with respect, then who will? You tell me, Steak 'n Shake. I am a huge Steak n Shake fan for many years! I moved nearby UCF to attend school here and the first thing I noticed was a Steak n Shake at University. The first day I walked into the establishment, my waitress was very friendly and the food came in a flawless presentation. I always order a Triple Steak Burger with fries and then a Root Beer Float for desert (instead of having them both at the same time). Since then, I have became a regular to this place and of course I'd try other Steak n Shakes all over Orlando. This Steak n Shake is by far the best in terms of service and food quality. Taking out a special family. Today I had a different experience at SNS. One that I haven't had at any of the SNS that I eaten at. At this location we waited longer than expected to get service. There were three servers, and they were huddled up by the pick up window, just standing there. They would look at each other and finally one of the servers decided we waited long enough. Best Steak n Shake I have ever been to. It is in a great location near UCF. The service was outstanding and the food was ready very quickly. The waitress greeted us at the door and made sure that we had everything that we needed throughout our meal. Food wise, I would recommend the Frisco Melt and the Red Velvet milk shake. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The late night crowd is quite entertaining but with colorful language and the employees deal with them as well as they can. The pricing for everything is very reasonable. My entire meal cost $6 before the tip with the drink included. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area who is looking for a quick, cheap and delicious meal; breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I have come here on multiple occasions and every visit is just as enjoyable as the last. The management is really on top of things and makes sure the store is run efficiently. Did I mention it is open 24/7? I will definitely be returning to this location. read more
