We visited Cheddar's while in Florida from California and unfortunately had one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in years. We had a reservation for a party of 10 at 6:00 PM. We arrived around 5:30 PM and were told the wait would be approximately 30 minutes. Instead, we weren't seated until 7:20 PM--nearly two hours after arriving and 80 minutes past our reservation time. Once seated, things only got worse. Our drink orders were taken, but after 34 minutes we still hadn't received a single drink, including water. I eventually had to go to the hostess stand and ask if someone could please let our server know we'd at least like water. The hostess mentioned that similar issues had been happening all day. Our entire table was ready to order within minutes of sitting down, yet our server didn't return to take our food orders for roughly another 30 minutes. When drinks finally arrived, mine was missing entirely, and my boyfriend received a frozen margarita instead of the margarita on the rocks that he ordered. Everyone was asked whether they wanted Tajín or salt on their drinks, but none of the drinks arrived with rims. When our food came out, we still didn't have silverware and had to wait another five minutes before we could even begin eating. My side dish was also forgotten. To top it off, when the bill arrived it had been split three ways despite us clearly stating at the beginning that it would all be on one check. We then had to wait even longer while it was corrected. What was most disappointing wasn't just the mistakes--it was the complete lack of accountability. At no point did management come by to apologize, explain the delays, or attempt to make things right. We had sponsors in town hosting this dinner, and it was honestly embarrassing after recommending this restaurant. I understand that restaurants get busy and that mistakes happen, but this felt like a breakdown at every stage of service from arrival to payment. The lack of communication, urgency, and customer care made for an extremely frustrating experience even when I work in hospitality and know what it's like. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this location based on our visit. read more

Great experience at Cheddar's. I had a Tito's and cranberry and the Chicken Alfredo, which was creamy and flavorful. My husband ordered the 6 oz sirloin with a fully loaded baked potato and broccoli and cheddar casserole, and everything tender and delicious. The complimentary glazed croissants were a nice touch. Stopped in for Apps today. They have this great hand batter onion ring. Hug e plate of them. Then we tried the spinach dip. That was good too. Big restaurant and lots of tables and big parking lot. This is my first time eating at cheddars and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the service, and the quality of the food for the price. We were a party of six and our server couldn't have been more pleasant. She was attentive and smiling and had a wonderful demeanor. I asked for the chicken sandwich, which is not on the dinner menu, however, it is on the lunch menu. I was so excited when they obliged and said I could get the chicken sandwich. Weeknight dinner. Walked in. Greeted and got seated right away. This is just me and my preference, but the restaurant isn't too well lit. Seems dim for us. But that's my personal opinion. Plenty of parking. Restaurant was busy. Sat for a little bit, tried to look over the menu but the menu was really extensive. Our waitress came by and grabbed our drink orders. Sweet tea, water, and an adult beverage. We were also given the complementary butter croissant. I thought they were suppose to come out warm, it came out to our table almost cold. The warm honey butter was far from it. Total disappointment. The thing that we were really looking forward to the most honestly. Ordered our entrees. Fried fish, ribs, grilled shrimp. Got our sides, loaded baked potatoes, and the broccoli casserole (which was absolutely amazing!), and corn off the cob. Service throughout dinner was fine, she tried to check up on us often, but we'd have to flag her down for things we needed as it took her a while to make her way back to our table. Service could've been better, the croissant could've been warm/hot. But other than that, we finally after driving by here all the time, had the time to pop in for dinner. I hear by decree Cheddars Scratch Kitchen to be the King of Chicken Tenders. They also have pretty reasonable prices in comparison to some of the places that are just overcharging like crazy. They still bring out complimentary honey butter croissants which are a great start to any meal. Service is still great as well. I was thirsty and he kept up with my refills like a champ. Also, you can pay right at the table with their little TV thingy. Easy Peasy! They have a pretty good drink menu too with a Painkiller (limit 2) and other concoctions that won't break the bank. Many open booths but only offered a table, not enough servers. Sometimes you have to wait but when you finally sit down and your waitress was full of attitude and none of the menu items that you wanted were available. After a 40 minute drive for a bday celebration only thing left to do was listen to the customer who walks by our table and said the waitress was rude to him too, so we left! We miss Cheddars locally as they went belly up right around Covid. So while prepping teen for College we visited for dinner. It satisfied in spades and even the atmosphere was very nostalgic. Queso and chips are back with the free ground beef topper. That was gone as soon as it hit the table. The teens barely sighed. All the entrees were exactly as offered and plentiful. The fried shrimp and chicken tenders are quite battered and super delish. Wife and I shared some wraps. When kids looked away we ended with a fresh baked cookie and ice cream. A good spot for a casual lunch or dinner! For anyone who likes traditional American food in a nice setting, Cheddars is the place. Their portions are big and their food is always a hit. Plus, if you sign up for their rewards, you get free Chips and Queso! I usually get the Grilled Salmon ($14.99), which is so good, but I decided to go for the 6oz Sirloin ($13.99) this time with mashed potatoes and a caeser salad. The salad had the perfect amount of dressing, and the mashed potatoes were so good with the skin included. My sister had the Half Rack of Ribs ($16.29) and they were so tender they fell off the bone. The Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms ($15.29) were also really yummy, as was the Country Fried Chicken ($13.49 or $15.79 for double the chicken). Me and my wife come here pretty often. The service is usually always really good. There's been a few times where the servers have been slow or not quick on their feet and get overwhelmed quickly however, the manager with the long dreadlocks, he is on top of it. I mean, my wife always get the croissants with the butter sauce is so good. Might go to here is the fried shrimp platter with broccoli casserole, and fries, and I usually get a side of ranch, which is really good. My wife usually always gets some kind of salmon which she enjoys. We always get the cheese curds which come out fantastic. So, I have driven by Cheddar's a million times but never tried it. That changed yesterday after a friend advised me that they have "the best chicken tenders ever." I needed a good tender because our local Bojangles just burned down. Let me tell you, he wasn't kidding. These were straight up incredible!! They tasted so fresh and perfect I really couldn't believe it. The fries were also amazing. Honestly, I wasn't even really able to get to the slaw because the other stuff was so nice and filling. This place is really a hidden gem. The service also rocked. I unfortunately am experiencing a health issue at the moment which renders me barely able to speak...the bartender was extremely accommodating and patient with me. It was a great meal. Surrounding tables were dirty and left untouched the entire time we were there, which didn't exactly set the best tone. Our original server seemed more focused on announcing it was her birthday than actually doing her job--she disappeared for long stretches and completely forgot about us. Eventually, we had to ask to be served by someone else. When our food finally arrived, no silverware was provided, and by the time we found someone to bring it, our meals were already cold. To be fair, management did offer a 50% discount on the bill, which is the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. First time here. It seemed right off the bat they were short handed. The atmosphere was nice. The server name that starts with a G was not attentive at all. We were never given silverware. We had to ask Joe (chef) who was out bringing our food because of being short handed was amazing. He brought us the silverware. Once the food was out we did not see the server until we were finished. And I love how extensive the menu is, it just makes me want to go back and try something new. My only complaint is that they gave me the wrong size steak. The food I ordered was a strawberry iced tea and chicken and broccoli Alfredo. It was a great sized portion however the noodles were overcooked and the dish was under seasoned. Hostess was friendly. Server Bri was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. Everything else is why we won't be back. As soon as you walk in, the building has a terrible stench. Got sat quickly. I always wipe down with my own wipe, and the table was sticky. Even the POS system at the table was dirty, not just the screen but the whole unit dirt and dust. Food came out quickly but just didn't taste right. Fish and Chips were small pieces overcooked and very greasy tasting. Should change your oil. Crispy Chicken Salad had huge hunks of lettuce and overripe tomatoes. The chicken again was too greasy. As they say, the cook makes or breaks a restaurant. And here, this did it for us. For the price we paid, not worth it. Thanks to Yelp, they show the SEVEN health violations from their recent healthcode report. NOT GOOD! Wouldn't have stopped if I saw those previously. I showed them to the server Bre, and she seemed to just shrug it off. To customers like us, it's a BIG deal. I said she might want to show her manager, and again shrugged and said "he probably knows." Well okay. Last, I'm surprised that you don't offer a veteran discount, being a Darden restaurant. Off the bat, he was reciting specials, drink specialties, and menu options. His demeanor was extremely pleasant and welcoming. Wanted to give this place another try after a disappointing first visit. I got a coupon for free chips and queso at the last Nascar race I went to, so no better time to try it, right? Wrong. It took the waitress 10 minutes to come back with napkins after she said "I'll be right back with those." I ordered the penne alfredo without chicken and it came with it. The pasta and sauce were bland overall and the broccoli was ice cold. My partner got steak and shrimp. He ordered his steak medium rare, but it was served well done. The shrimp were rubbery and the blackened bits tasted like an unclean grill. The mashed potatoes were nothing to write home about. He also got a ceasar salad as a side and it was heavily dressed and had some limp leaves. SO disappointing. It took the waitress so long to return to the table, he lost his appetite. Delicious food!!!!! Everything about this place rocked! We sat in the bar so we could watch some Sunday football. Being new to the area, we had never tried this spot. It definitely did not disappoint! We have never had queso before, so decided to try it. BOMB YUMMY! The chips were light and very thin, just like we like. The queso and salsa that went with it were yum, not spicy at all. We had the fish platter, the Montecristo sandwich, and the ribeye platter. All cooked perfectly, and not one complaint! Again this location continues to disappoint me. When we arrived I went into the bar and the bartender was standing there talking to 1 of 2 people at the bar. We placed an order for 1 bottle of beer and 1 mixed drink. After 15 minutes we started asking about our drinks. We also asked the manager why it takes 10 to 15 minutes EVERYTIME we come in to get drinks from the bar. His reply was I am going to find out. He never came back to our table. Yesterday was Mother's Day and we ordered food online which said it would be ready for 6:38pm. My boyfriend went to go pick it up, but the food wasn't ready. We understood that it was a holiday and it would be busy, so waiting a little bit longer wasn't going to be an issue, however, we waited ridiculously long. Our food wasn't ready until 9:15pm (almost 3hrs later). That was ridiculous!! And on top of that the food was wrong. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrapper with no Cheese and it came as plain chicken tenders with cheese. We ordered Cheesecake that came with Strawberries but never got the strawberries. Listen, I understand we're trying to figure out this new normal in the food industry, but if a restaurant is overwhelmed or too busy they should stop the online order option. My boyfriend chose to wait because he knew I wanted this for Mother's Day and that ordering from another restaurant wasn't going to be an option so late in the evening and didn't want to end up with fast food instead. Since the wait was so long the restaurant advised him that if he wanted to cancel the order they understood, but it left us with a not so great backup plan. The first time we came to this location we were extremely unimpressed with the lack of service. Because of that we did avoid coming back for quite some time. We recently gave it another try and were more pleasantly surprised at how this visit went. To start, the food is decent. It's not something super special, but it's not terrible either. The menu selections are pretty generic, including things like chicken tenders and wraps. The food came out quickly and was warm upon arrival. The portions are very large so we had leftovers too! Our service was much better this most recent visit, but still lacked a little bit. We never got refills on our drinks and were only checked on once or twice. When it came time to pay they have the devices at the tables where you can pay at the table. We noticed the server telling other people how to pay and asking them to complete a survey on the device after paying. When it came time for us to pay, she was "kind enough" to help us pay on the device, but she never mentioned the survey to us. Rather after handing us the card back, she held onto the device tapping through what seemed like a survey on the screen. Never have we seen a server complete their own survey!! We found it a little strange but I guess not completely off putting. I don't know if we would come back again soon, but maybe in the future. read more

We had liked their food when they first opened, but as time went on, the service worsened (pre-COVID) and after a particularly bad experience, we stopped going. This rare occasion a few days ago presented my wife and I the opportunity to try them out again. It was lunch. The restaurant was not busy on the side we were sat. Our server was prompt to greet us and dropped off the honey butter croissants while we looked at the menu. It took awhile for her to return. Longer than it should have. She finally did return and took our drink orders. When she mentioned that certain menu items weren't available, we were just about to order when she left to put our drink orders in, even though we were ready to order. She didn't return for awhile, and a quick lunch was turning into longer than we had anticipated. Finally, she returned with my water. My wife's bar drink was nowhere to be seen, though she said it was coming. We put in our orders and waited. My wife's drink finally showed up. It was good. We then waited more for our food. Our food was not overly complicated (chicken tenders/friends, coconut shrimp) but took a lot longer than it should have for a restaurant that was not busy. The thing that kept us away from Cheddars for several years will keep us away from there for awhile longer, maybe permanently. While the food is good and not overly marked up pricewise - the service is still poor. Whether it's the front of the house or the back of the house, there just wasn't an sense of urgency. Our simple lunch meal took over 90 minutes from walking in to leaving. It would have been longer if they didn't have the option to pay on the electronic device on the table. read more

Definitely our favorite family chain restaurant. Love their scratch cooking. Pretty much everything we've gotten here is good to great. My son loves their chicken tenders. Big and perfectly fried. The fries are very well seasoned here. I like the chicken and shrimp with a mango type salsa. The ribs are solid but not amazing. Burgers are good. Salads are huge. Steak is good for a family chain.
