Sad, cold order of chili 5 ways. Steak n Shake is no longer a step above.

Cold food, no order takers, kiosk only. No china, no silverware, totally self serve. Rude workers. I hope all locations are going this direction. If so we will not be coming back. Terrible lunch experience.

Gluten free Gold mine…read more I can't say enough good things about Scruff Grill. As someone who has struggled to find safe, delicious, actually enjoyable gluten-free meals, this place absolutely blew me away. Their gluten-free options are incredible--thoughtfully crafted, full of flavor, and far beyond the usual "substitute and hope for the best" approach most restaurants take. The gluten-free buns are a standout: soft, sturdy, and honestly the best I've ever had. They don't fall apart! That alone would earn them five stars, but it gets even better. They use dedicated fryers, something that's nearly impossible to find, and their staff is impressively knowledgeable about cross-contamination, ingredients, and allergen safety. I felt understood, respected, and genuinely cared for. Every bite was packed with bold, unmatched flavor. It's clear the team here takes pride in what they create, and it shows in the entire dining experience. Scruff Grill has earned my gratitude and my repeat business. If you're gluten-free--or even if you aren't--you have to try this place. It's a gem.

Very helpful and answered all our questions. The food was good but I felt alittle salty which my sister liked. So really it's based on preference. The smash burger was just okay. Fries were good. Our son shared that the Public House owner has presented to his Entrepreneurial class, sharing insights into getting a company, getting a brewery started, including interactions with local government, etc. he and his friends have frequented and this was the first chance for us family to visit. Mutiny provided exceptional service! For food, we enjoyed: - charcuterie board - 600-day aged priscuitto and coppa; three cheeses from Wisconsin and France; mustard and a fog jelly - all good - house chips - salads - Rueben sandwiches For drinks we all enjoyed: - coffee stout (House) - IPA (house) - non-alcoholic: Elderflower and a cherry lime aide Great food and a great time. I had eaten there with my daughter, about ten years ago, which is WAY too long. I used to buy their 'Take and Bake' Pies at Harter House, but my local store no longer carries them. They've always been good. Why did it take me so long to come back? I'm usually traveling with my husband and he prefers BBQ or a burger when we're traveling. I'm glad I mentioned it Saturday, when we were looking for a place to eat lunch! We all loved it so much that we ate there again the next day, on our way home. Between us, we tried both kinds of Chicken Pot Pie (Traditional and Mushroom), the Chicken Salad on Croissant, the Tomato Soup, and the Bacon Quiche. Each entree was served with two hot rolls. I didn't have room for the rolls, but those who did said they were good. Dessert? You may have to take it with you, but they're packaged well. The quiche reheats well in the microwave. Those who tried it said it was the best quiche ever, and ordered it again the second day, so I took a piece home to try. I haven't tried my Cherry Raspberry yet, but the others said the Coconut Cream (whipped cream) and Custard were wonderful. I did try one of his cinnamon/sugar pie crust cookies. They tasted just like my mama used to make. He said he's planning to sell those at the Harter House Stores in the Springfield area, so I'll be looking for them. He's also bringing a truck to Harter House in Springfield on Eastgate, occasionally, so I'll be watching their Facebook Page so I can buy a piece of pie without going to Rolla. Good pie crust makes a pie, and luckily, you can find them in the freezer case at Harter House and Price Cutter Stores. Look for "Mickey's Pie Crust", ready to put in the oven and bake.

The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked just the way I wanted, with a nice grilled finish that gave it that classic steakhouse taste. The broccoli was hot and fresh, and the sweet potato was a perfect side after a full day of travel, warm, filling, and a great complement to the steak. I also started with a Caesar salad, which was fresh and loaded with crunchy croutons and shaved parmesan. She became more engaged when, I believe, she saw we were not having the best experience so I give 4/5 stars for noticing but also because she was more attentive and gave me an extra plate quickly when I asked bc of the steak swimming in clarified butter that was supposed to be in a separate dish for the lobster instead of floating around the plate. Ribeye was actually really thin. You can see in the pics, about the same size as a thin ribeye from a recent grocery purchase I made. It was actually cooked well - for the size I would have expected overdone. Biggest issue is when I cut a piece and started to chew I had the shockwave from teeth on bone. A little chunk of bone was still in the ribeye. Pic included. I told her after we paid so she could warm the kitchen staff. Ribs - fine. Lobster - rubber. Could have thrown it across the room and it would have bounced at least twice. See pics. Also, the butter issue. Sides - side salad was crisp and the cucumber was fresh. Mash was interesting, and that could be because it's processed potato, a gluey issue from over-mixing, or that it was also taking a swim in the spilled butter. Fries were very tasty. Mac was okay. Overall spend with drinks was $109 with a 20% tip. I would not say it was worth it. We basically ate the salad and bread and called it a day.
