Long lines sometimes. Maybe understaffed? Short and rude, but the food is usually good. Except recently got the new tater tots and some of them were hot, some of them were still frozen in the middle. They definitely need customer service training to make you feel like you're a valued customer when you come here. Iv frequented this Steak 'n shake over the years, typically just drive through. Today we went to inside and ordered burgers and fries. Instead of getting a waiter/waitress, you order at a screen at the front and then they call your name, which seems to be much more efficient for the establishment cause server used to be slow. Our burgers were fine, but what i enjoyed even more was on the survey on the receipt. I didn't plan on getting a mlkshake but i filled out a short survey and got a code for a free milkshake to redeem. Great surprise. read more

Being forced to use a kiosk to order food is not a pleasant experience. Having to scan a QR code to pour your own drink at a self serve soda fountain is not convenient. It's annoying. Not having the ability to interact with a human at a restaurant is not a good experience. The only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food tasted good. The kiosk asked for a tip. I was the cashier, waitress, and bus boy so I should be the one receiving the tip. I remember when Steak N Shake had waitstaff and menus and you could easily customize an order. I don't appreciate this and apparently other people feel the same because we were the only ones in the restaurant at noon on a Saturday. That really says something. What Steak N' Shake should be! We went to Steak N' Shake because we were visiting relatives in the area and wanted to get burgers/ice cream for the family. This location was incredible from the friendly service and the delicious food to the fact that it was clean. First of all the kiosks are really easy to use and make ordering nice. I have a big family and it was great having each person order without the stress of holding up the line. The shakes are delivered in their special glasses that make the whole experience more fun. Everything was fresh too. Overall, when my kids asked to go to Steak N' Shake this location delivered more than what I expected. I definitely recommend it. read more

After a traumatic night where my daughter witnessed a violent incident at her school football game, I stopped to get her favorite milkshake to comfort her. At the drive-thru, I was told the card reader was down and to come inside, but I was boxed in by other cars. When I reached the window, Olivia refused to take my order, insisting I "should have backed up," and later said it was "too late" even though the reader was fixed. Steak and Shake got a facelift!! The restaurant is clean, efficient, and the food is great! You no longer have to wait over an hour for your food. The prices did go up but not insanely like other establishments. The manager on duty seems to care about the business, which makes all the difference. Starters, we ordered our food on the kiosk, once we sat down we waited around 30 minutes for our meals. I had been avoiding Steak 'n Shake for a while until I moved nearby this location and my wife had a craving. We've been here two weeks in a row and I'm ready to give this location an incredible review. We've only been through the drive thru, so I can't rate the inside service/restaurant experience. This place has gone WAY up in terms of Steak N' Shakes throughout the years. Even though some of the previous amenities such as waiters and several menu items are gone, the staff at this location is extremely helpful and has never failed to impress me. Vonrico was super helpful with getting our food to the table, and gave the restaurant most of its customer-service elements back, all in one person. I cannot understate how much he does. It still retains the ambience of a 1950s-ish restaurant, although it feels much more open post-pandemic due to downsizing. I've also heard that Kevin is really nice, but I've never met him myself. Really recommend it! Most of the issues have been fixed at this point, but be aware that is it more of a fast-food restaurant than a sit-down one anymore. read more

I dislike leaving negative reviews but this place really deserves ZERO stars. Yes, I understand the drive-thru at any Steak 'n Shake is slow, but always expect a 15-20 minute wait here. When the food is made right and accurate. It's actually worth the wait. However... On my 2nd-to-last visit, I waited 20 minutes in line only to receive a wrong order. I had to go inside and wait another 10+ minutes for them to correct it. On my last visit, I avoided the drive-thru and went inside to order to-go at the counter. I was completely ignored for over 10 minutes. Then the people who ordered ahead of me were given the wrong order after a long wait. That was enough for me. I left. They lost out on a $15 sale. Waiting 10 minutes inside gave me ample time to see what is wrong here. It is grossly understaffed. I feel bad for the one lone cook manning the grill. He was not the problem. It looked like they had only one other helping prep in the kitchen, with the drive-thru window person stopping to help. Then just two staff seemed to be working the whole dining room/take-out counter. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and of course my strawberry milkshake ... omg hit the spot!!!! I have never ever eaten at one before and was shocked to find out what it's about ... will be a great burger diner to bring the grandbabies :) Staff today were great thanks dawn b.
