Pulled up and immediately saw the line wrapped around inside was completely packed. At that point, I already knew this place had to be doing something right. Since it was my first time, I took a minute to check out the menu and decided to go with the bacon steak burger... and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. Juicy, flavorful, cooked perfectly hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had well besides Shake Shack; Every bite lived up to the hype that crowd created. If you're debating whether it's worth to try, well you definitely should! I'll 100% be coming back anytime I see this place. This is the kind of spot you don't forget. read more

We hadn't been to a Steak n Shake in ages, so we came to this one in a whim! Mid afternoon....we came in to lots of kind and friendly people. the owner was genuinely grateful and talked to us as we ordered! the food was FRESH and delicious! This Steak ' n Shake is the BEST. We always go there at least once a month. The service is amazing. The food is always served hot for the hamburgers and French fries and they both taste delicious. We highly recommend this place to family and friends. This place is always clean, and the management and staff go above and beyond to make sure that we have a great experience eating there. I have been to this Steak and Shake location multiple times and the food is always fresh and hot. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is friendly. This location entertains families on Wednesday night by playing bingo and giving small prizes that kids love. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is really good, I highly recommend this location. read more

I haven't been to this Steak-n-Shake since before I moved away- honestly, I didn't think I would ever go back. Eight years ago and longer- they were notorious for extremely long wait times- absurdly long wait times in the drive through and in the dining room. Funny enough, John wanted a Butter Burger- which they don't have anymore- and we ended up walking through the front doors. New to me- automated ordering menu screens, no hostess, no waiters anymore. OK- we'll see how this goes. We discovered our old favorites were not longer offered- I love mushroom swiss burgers, they don't have those anymore either- boo. We ordered a couple burgers, shakes and onion rings and sat down. Within 5 minutes they called out my name at the pickup counter- I said that's us! I was surprised, and as I was about to get up the lady walked around the counter to bring it to our table!!! Surprise again! Another few minutes later our shakes showed up. Fun fact- I had no idea Steak n Shake could be fast until I moved to Jacksonville and went through the drive thru at a Jax location- and I had my food within 3 minutes! It made me realize how horribly slow the Trinity location used to be. Well- used to be is now correct! They found their fast, oddly enough in removing staff. I'm slapping my head- that's right, no hostess, no servers & I'm sure better management and bazinga~ they are fast now! Food was hot and what we expected. I also witnessed the young lady working the pick up counter helping a little girl and it was such a sweet exchange- good to see friendly service! Guess we will be back in the future, when we visit. Now just bring back the Butter Burger and the Mushroom Burger please! read more

Actually scamming on Uber eats and door dash from this location. Charging twice the price under a different brand labeled "the shake bar" but delivering the same product. Disgusting tactics. Steak and Shane is dead to me, even if I do like the shakes. read more

I went through the drive-through last night and ordered only a milkshake. I sat at the drive-through window for at least six minutes. I could see through the window that the employees had time to chat and laugh, but no one had time to go check and see if my milkshake was on its way. The server that had taken my payment was staring at the register and playing with her fingernails and checking out her split ends. I paid $5.50 for a milkshake that I never got. It upset me so much they just drove away. I would pay extra just to get decent customer service. UPDATE... stop by steak and shake today and the manager was very kind and gave me my milkshake.! read more

I was so happy to see Steak n Shake open for dine in.. Unfortunately they gutted the inside, it's no longer a diner theme, No more servers just a kiosk and pick up area,no more salads or coleslaw.. It's so disappointing. The guy I talked to said people are saying the same thing and corporate is aware but no changes are planned to be made One more place to scratch off my list of comfort food with a great atmosphere and low cost.. Sorry but this "New" concept isn't going to work for most of us read more

The winning 'Trinity' of Steakburgers, Service and Smiles! This is by far THE best Steak 'n Shake I have ever visited! The store is clean and well maintained. Important, certainly, as is the delicious food. But what made this visit even more STELLAR? Two things. Two employees.... First and foremost, is the incredible Ashley G! She has a 1000 watt smile that lights up the room! Her personality shines brightly as she greets folks, takes orders, cleans up and compliments her fellow co-workers. Constantly busy, beaming and bubbly! It's been a long time since I've seen someone so unique, so genuine, so happy! From the moment I walked in the door I knew I was in the presence of greatness. Her greeting of "Welcome to Steak 'n Shake" was for real. Then I overheard her kind words to someone in the kitchen. And on and on. This joy of life continued throughout my stay. I was amazed at her high spirits and thankful I'd stopped in! Now, let me mention the second employee. It's the guy that cooked THE best Steakburger I've ever had at any Steak 'n Shake! His name was Steven. (I know because I asked Ashley). I found out he's only been manning that spatula for about 1 month! Kudos and Well Done (that's a meat joke!)... I even bothered to call that 1-877 phone number on the receipt to give my positive feedback, too. It's important to LET folks know when they are doing things right. What's not to like about Steak n Shake? You don't go there looking for a big juicy burger, because they don't sell them. They have the smaller, flatter steak burgers that taste great for what they are. Those burgers & there tasty thick shakes is what they are famous for. They also do a good job with their fries, chili, sandwiches, salads & of course breakfast. It took them long enough, but a few years ago they finally added a hot dog. I love a good chili cheese dog & there's is on point. Nothing fancy, just good eats at a fair price. What's a girl to do? Shakes go with everything! read more

I like steak N Shake because I can usually trust their burgers to be fresh. What I I found utterly ridiculous about this particular location was that I waited 12 minutes in the drive through after placing my order. When I got to the window, and I was ready to pay, The girl there, handed me my bag and said "Thanks, have a good day." Nope, she didn't take payment. "I haven't paid yet." So the girl behind her told her to collect the money. She did, gave me the correct change and all that. then wished me another good day. "Can I have my drink?" She looked behind her. "Is this your drink?" Honestly, how am I supposed to know? I'm not inside the location. "is it a large diet? Then it's mine." I'm polite, but seriously, make sure that your folks are trained before you put them on the window. read more

This is the worst Steak 'n Shake I've ever been to. I only go here because it's the only place open late in trinity. There has been so many times I've wanted to write a bad review for this place but I just didn't feel like it. This just hit the nail on the coffin. I just got food, it was about 12:15am and the food is burnt. I'm not being picky, I mean it's freaking burnt. ON BOTH SIDES! Did the cook really finish this sandwich and say "Yeah that'll do". Who are you guys hiring? 10 times out of 10 when I get food here at night it's wrong. Will I come back again for the 37th time hoping it's a better experience since nothing else is open?... Probably. Maybe hire better people? Maybe have better management at night? I have no idea. Just do something different. read more

If I could give this store no stars I would! Here's a few photos of tonight's meal from this nasty store! First off I waited 40 minutes in line from start to finish. When I placed my order I was 4 cars from the window from when I order to receiving my food it was 23 minutes almost 24. I ordered onion rings that tasted like burnt batter. All my burgers where smooshed like flat bread besides my sons double cheese burger. Know here is the kicker my boyfriends burger the Swiss and mushroom had a bit extra ingredient aka HAIR. He's always had this huge phobia of hair in his food to top it off. He didn't notice the hair until it was stuck down his throat. Now someone might say it was mine but I'm a brunette and this hair is blond. I called the store and all they did was to offer a replacement burger for the one with the hair. My husband now refuses to ever eat steak and shake again. Waiting on a response from corporate now after filing a complaint. read more

We stood at the hostess sign for 6 1/2 minutes watching all the servers and manager ignore us waiting to be seated. I counted 6 tables that were empty & filthy. No one said a word to us. Then I glanced back towards the kitchen area & saw how much garbage was all over the floor and walked out. There have been so many different managers at this particular location-I'm not sure why it's always managed so poorly. It was filthy everywhere. read more

Wow. This place has the BEST burgers. The quality here is unparalleled. How lucky are we that we get to Enjoy red meat and frozen milk all in one bite? This is what Steak 'n Shake has to offer. I love the retro uniforms brings me back to high school. Prices were good. Good place for a date night or even bring the kids. Better burgers than Burger King. I had the patty melt and boy did it melt my heart. I stuck with the classic cookie douGh milkshake and it was so thick and delish. My hubby had the burger. He loved it! read more

This is the most frustrating Steak 'n Shake I've been to. I have been going here since they've opened and EVERYTIME the wait when in the drive thru is always at least 8-10 minutes. One time I waited 12 minutes for a shake and fries and when I asked why it took so long they said they just apologize. I go not go to this establishment anymore since the last time I went I asked for a burger with all the topping minus mustard they gave me a burger with lettuce and mustard only. I mean?? Ok mistakes happen but how does all topping minus mustard rely to lettuce with mustard? I get the mustard part but where are the rest of my toppings? I go in and it took them over 10 minutes to remake my burger so my fries in the car went cold. This place would be great if they could get the timing right, I understand orders get messed up that doesn't bother me.... what bothers me is the slowliness of the staff and the no urgency (when there are several cars in the drive thru line). I hope management changes or does something about the timeliness of this otherwise I won't be back sadly since their Frisco melts, cheese fries and shakes are pretty darn good! (2* for the food because it's good but even though I wait so long only the frisco melt has come out fresh). My burgers seem to have been sitting there (waiting). read more

I would say the drive thru employees top Chick-fil-A when it comes to personality. They genuinely make my day! Okay, finally back to Steak 'n Shake. They've changed things quite a bit since the pandemic but still the Greatest Burgers and Fries out there. I'm old so it took a little getting use to ordering on the new Kiosk but they have a very helpful, very pleasant young gentleman there to help. In a matter of a few seconds he showed me how to place my order. After my order was placed in a matter of minutes my order was ready, freshly cooked to perfection, not old dried up stuff sitting under a heat lamp. Things may be a little different but still GREAT. Worst service and slowest turnaround time for food and drink ever. Went in and ordered a burger and shake. Was 12:30 am and only about 4 tables seated. Took a long time to get seated and to order. Drink ended up coming out after 20 minutes. My one steak burger took much longer. Ordered Cajun fries and she brought out regular fries. Asked waitress if there were Cajun fries, she said I and brought me a side of seasoning. Couldn't get her attention for silverware or anything else. Perhaps place was understaffed but reminded me why I haven't been to this location in years. Worst service I have encountered anywhere in quite a long time. Worst thing is I live 5 minutes from here but it's just not a viable dining option. read more

This is my 8 year old's favorite restaurant, but our most recent experience was less than stellar. Our ticket time was over 25 minutes. Our server was frequently absent as evidenced by too few refills. The order was wrong (mini corndogs served instead of a cheeseburger). And the floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in a week. Now I'm sure I'll be back because it is my son's favorite, but he'll have to ask me to go. I won't be suggesting this location for some time. read more

The service here is AWFUL!!!! My family and I waited at least 10 mins to be seated and once we were, we waited over 20 minutes and never were acknowledged by a waiter or waitress. We finally got up and walked out, again without being acknowledged. There were several more parties that had not been served or had their orders taken. I've been through the drive-thru several times and I've never had a bad wait, and my food order has always been correct. My husband and I ate inside recently and apparently nobody had been assigned to that table yet, so we waited for several minutes and debated whether we should leave. However, once the manager realized their mistake, they apologized and offered us shakes on the house to make up for it. Our server Gabriel was the nicest guy and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They really take care of their customers, so we will be back again and again. 3rd trip and messed up food and soda all 3 trips. I'm diabetic and I order Diet Coke and they give me regular coke 3 times in a row. She had the steak quesadilla at $18, which also felt a little steep. Most others are $14 or less. Still, she enjoyed it, so there's that. For once, there was no 3% credit card upcharge, but at these prices, you have to figure it's already built in somewhere. The food was good overall, though I think the meal came in about $10 high. I also hear the place is for sale. Good food, service, ambiance, and view. All pretty common on the Gulf of America -- which is kind of the point, I guess. She brought us our food orders as soon as they were ready. Everything was at the proper temperature and delicious. Our party ordered salmon, fried shrimp, fish & chips and Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Our meals were filling, and what we couldn't eat came home with us! We are definitely returning for the fried shrimp!! We brought cake which Sarah expertly delivered to the table once we were done with dinner. Only one candle was not lit when she placed it in front of the birthday girl. But that was okay! She blew out the others to get her wish. I'm betting that wish was to return here. We made our reservation over a month ago and were confirmed for the Captain's Quarters private room. When we arrived, we were told we were "never promised that room," which simply wasn't true. We were then informed that another group was in the room and they "didn't expect them to stay so long," so we were placed at a loud table by the bar with no privacy at all. From there, things only went downhill. There was no coordination of our meals, they forgot to bring the salads we had arranged for, drink orders were missed, and then we were told they had run out of steaks. For a planned group reservation, the service felt disorganized and chaotic. Overall, it was a complete mess, and I would not recommend this restaurant for large groups or for anyone counting on their reservation being honored.
