Its a shame i even have to give a star just to write a review. We have been here 5 times. Laat 2 was the worst!! Not only did we wait an hr and a half, wen they brought out the food they forgot my husbands and another 30 mins they brought it but with hair!! We went again last night and ppl got their orders that have areived after us and we was ther again over an hr!! Manager came because i asked the waitress where is our food? The manager offered to pay our bill and she was extremely sorry. Really? Sorry? Damn. We ended up leaving and said not to return. This place has steadily went downhill overtime. We ate here yesterday with our kids and the service was terrible. The lady who sat us gave us all adult menus and no kids menus at all. Then took 15min before waitress even came to table for drinks 5 mins for kids menus and another 10 to get drinks. The food was wrong even after the waitress repeated everything. If it wasn't for the free kids weekend we would have went somewhere else. read more

Ordinarily, I would have given this particular location 5 stars. Today, however, turned me sour. We eat at this location at least once a week, and usually more often. We have been well treated and the food is always good. Today at 4:50 p.m., we pulled into the drive-thru lane and waited. No answer. So, my husband backed up and pulled forward again, attempting to activate the sensor. Still no response. We did this 3 times before we thought maybe the speaker was out of service. We pulled forward to the window, where an employee was clearing the register. He turned and looked at us, but continued what he was doing. After at least 5 minutes, a woman in her late 40's or early 50's came to the window wearing a headset and spoke to another car which had pulled in behind us. She started to take their order. My husband tapped on the window and said "What about us?" They opened the window and he asked again "What about us - we've been waiting and no one answered at the speaker." She tells the person waiting to order "Hold on....someone's come to the window." Then she tells the young man "See what they want." and walks away. No apology for making us wait, nothing to indicate that there was a mixup and it would be corrected. We were made to feel like we were intruding or trying to cut in line. We then asked to see the manager. The young man said "She IS the manager." This particular employee has been there for a few months - starting with waiting tables and then working at the window. On one occasion, we even gave her back money when she gave us too much in change. VERY POOR customer service. VERY POOR attitude. This woman is obviously not management material. So we left and went down State Road 60 to a competitor establishment for our meal. We won't return until she is no longer in charge. read more

Went to the store located on Miller Rd. And S.R. 60 in Valrico, FL. Upon walking into the restaurant, it was noticed that every table not being used was covered with dirty dishes and trash. After waiting for a hostess to seat us, after about 5mins, we sat ourselves down at the only clean table we could find. After we sat at the table, a few mins passes and we overheard a leaving waitress tell the other waitress we were there. After another 10 mins or so of waiting at the table we selected, no server, hostess, cook, or anybody came to the table. So we decided to leave the restaurant. That restaurant will never get my or my party's business. read more

I have to start by saying the food was good. I was greeted promptly and by what I have to say the best waiter ever named Akiles. He was so friendly, attentive, and delightful. I went with my husband and two of my kids. Although the service was great they did not have any cookies for my dessert but Akiles gave it to me free without the cookie so it was a sundae with whip cream. Food is what to be expected for the price. The reason for the low amount of stars is due to service problems. Standing at a register for over 4 minutes with no one acknowledging a customer is not how you get paid. Multiple staff from kitchen to waitress walked by me even made eye contact and continued to do something else. This is a major manager issue. Employees talking to people that come from outside not a customer and just chatting. No manager in site to check on what's going on in their store. Food is decent, just don't expect any service. read more

Worse experience I've ever had at this steak n shake! Went with my dad and wife the female manager was very rude when we expressed concern about the wait time (45 mins) and still didn't have our food. Come to find out our order was never placed. Never going back to steak n shake , other night at 2 am me and my fiancé and friend went to get shakes there was only one table of two and we orderer take out. befor we came in I saw guy not dressed for work putting stuff on tables then he went in back then sat down to eat. After we ordered a bunch of girls came over and talked to the waitress only one there for 5 mins then sat down then she took her order, then one more table came in two guys no one came to them they got up and asked for water, Then I walked over the guy and waitress had a new born baby in seat at 2 am at work while working, it took 45 mins with only 2 tables at 2 am. she talked more to bf and friends and baby then make three shakes. the guy kept stareing at my fiancé and friend. When we left he stared at me big time. I stared back. the girls name was stormy. tonight 1/9 it was slow but my pasta with chili has onions so took back since I said no onions. my fiancé got her burger and drink I got my side of onion rings and salad. then after she was done I finaly got my food so so so slow. I had coupons for self 4.99 meal and 99 cents for rings, should be 5.99 plus 75 tax being nice on that so 6.74 I gave 20 only got back 10. so im missing three dollars. she kept saying gave u dollar off no she didn't. ohh yeah my wifes tea was on my bill but had coupon for free drink. I am very upset with this place for the way they treated me a handicap lady....since I have got a mobile scooter so I can now get around every morning I would go to the steak and shake for 2 sausage biscuits...for the pass month I did not have a problem with going through the drive thru....I was told to knock on the window and they would take my order which they did....well today I was told not to come back through the drive thru again that I was going to have to come inside...can someone tell me how when you cant open the door...I will be calling corp about this matter also. read more

On November 17, 16, I visited this Steak n Shake for lunch with a friend. Unfortunately they seated us across from the kitchen. With no door on the kitchen entrance, you could see inside. It was the dirtiest kitchen I have ever seen. Especially one that served food to the public. I will not go there again. read more

Great place for a quick bite to eat. There is a burger for every taste and the fries are always hot and good. Don't forget about 30 flavors of milkshakes to top off the meal. It is hard to spend $25.00 bucks here for two people to eat, quick and friendly service. read more

With their current promotion of "4 Meals Under $4.00" this is definitely the budget-friendly restaurant you want to visit. Surprisingly, their chicken strips meal (one of the 4 under 4), has the best chicken strips of any restaurant I've been to. The tender white meat is always juicy and the breading is just crispy enough. The portion (3 chicken strips) is the perfect amount, allowing you to clean your plate without the heavy weighed down feeling of wanting a long nap. The cheese fries are also terrific - I love the shoe string style of the fries and the heaping helping they serve. Additionally, they are currently promoting "Kids Eat Free All Weekend" which is another great reason to pay them a visit. True to the old-fashioned soda jerk style, you can add different flavors to your soda. Although I found that chocolate Coke wasn't bad, I wouldn't recommend it be added to Orange soda. I enjoyed my first meal at SNS but each one after that was disappointing. My expectations are not high for this place, however, hair in food and spoiled bacon were too much. And twice now, my food tasted like very old grease, overpowering the actual flavor of the food. The only complaint we made was about the hair and they did take this off the bill but the meal was very poor. read more

Horrid, absolutely HORRID. This is a perfect example of a lackluster incompetent restaurant. I only gave it a one star rating because it doesn't let me put any less. Having been there 3 times already in the span of 2 months, I can confirm this isn't a coincidence or a fluke. All 3 times I had to wait 40+ minutes to receive burgers with fries. BURGERS! If they were serving me seafood or something then I would have accepted it. My last time there our waitress disappeared for 6 minutes doing who knows what. That whole time I saw my order just lying on the shelf until of course, it got semi cold by the time it arrived. Funnily enough, right before I left I overheard this man complaining to the manager about how long his order took as well. This just encouraged me to complain myself right then. Apparently the manager was working hard cooking 5 burgers and that the restaurant was full. In that case, hire more employees, because it's unacceptable to get burgers in 40 minutes. These aren't even that great either. The fries are more like toothpicks as well. All in all if you want to stay at a restaurant for a minimum of 1 hour, eat 7/10 burgers with 2/10 fries, this is the place for you. read more
