Small Dog Park : North of Large Dog Park. I suggest to park on the east side of the park (it's closer to the dog parks) compared to the west side (or Main) parking lot. Tons of space for dogs to play catch as it's long. The park is wider at its east side and tapers down towards the west side. Never had an issue at this small dog park. Not so much green lush grass. Better than big dog park. Large Dog Park: Just south of small dog park. This park is a big square. Perfect for playing catch and minding your own business. I've seen too many stupid dog owners that let dogs scuffle. So be aware.

So thankful for this wonderful park during the craziness of Covid. I have always felt safe here and my dogs just love the small dog park. Everyone is so friendly! and we always see a cute little vermillion fly catcher while the dogs play.

The park is in the far back north east corner of Indian steel park. Behind central high. It's gated which is great. Dried dead grass and dirt. There is a dog park next to it for smallledogs.

I like Steele Indian School Dog Park, particularly when viewed within the larger context of the Steele Indian School Park. It's a great place to take your dogs for a walk around the park and then let them loose for a run in the fenced area. The dog park has all the essentials: Fence. Bags. Water. Shade. Picnic benches. Some grass. A suggestion about parking. You can park in any of the Steele parking lots and walk to the north and east to find the dog facility. If you're not in a mood for walking, the only entrance to the dog park parking lot is found off of Seventh Street (just north of the VA Hospital). I didn't even know there was a Seventh Street entrance to Steele until I searched for it. There are separate areas for small dogs and large dogs. While admittedly not based on a large number of visits, the small dog area seems a lot busier. Perhaps an urban park frequented mainly by small urban apartment dogs or just my bad luck. Don't know. Still, the large dog area is busy enough weekdays after 5:00 and on weekends. The Friends of Hance Dog Park, another a City of Phoenix facility, is located nearby if you are looking for alternatives.

My puppy loves coming here! There's lots of friendly people that pet him, and he gets to run wild with their dogs! The park is huge, securely fenced in, and there's a water fountain and water bowls for all the thirsty pups. I take Duke here when he's full of crazy puppy energy, and take him home exhausted. Some park benches would be great, and maybe some poop bag dispensers. But overall, it's a great place, and my puppy and I are a big fan!

This is the small dog area.

Small dog park isn't usually busy or used and on occasion I'll see older or very excitable dogs using it.

There's plenty of space to lie around to relax or set up for a picnic. Nearby, there is the Japanse Friendship Garden and lots of coffee and restaurants. We were here earlier today for our little one to enjoy the park and run around. The playground here is very playful with giant structures to climb and around. There was also a small rock climbing wall for bigger kids to enjoy. There is plenty of parking, everyone keeps to themselves, and a doggy park not too far away! I highly recommend for everyone looking for a nice spot to relax and chill.

I've personally been there for a number of festivals over the years, and my sister-in-law has led fitness classes in the park. I have also used the park to cut across from the library to the other side of the park as a shortcut before. I feel that it is well-maintained with some play grounds, areas to sit, and areas to avoid the sun as need be. I stopped by the Margaret T. Hance Park this past weekend to attend the annual Arizona Fall Festival, which included food, service, and shopping vendors, plenty of food trucks, alcohol tasting area, games, auction, and more. This upcoming week, the Phoenix Pizza Festival will be held there. A lot of careful planning takes place for each and every festival taking place in the park. This public park was named after the first female mayor of Phoenix who advocated for the park. In 2016, the city announced a ten-year master plan costing over $100 million dollars, which would include adding an amphitheater, a skate park, and more. The park is home to the Japanese Friendship Garden, Irish Cultural Center, McClelland Irish Library, Phoenix Center for the Arts, and Burton Barr Phoenix Central Library. Features of the 32-acre park include a dog park, drinking fountains, grills, picnic area, playground, restrooms, shade structures, splash pad, and a volleyball court. The park itself is ADA accessible. The published hours of the park are daily from 6 AM to 10:30 PM. You can read more about the park at https://www.phoenix.gov/administration/departments/parks/activities-facilities/city-parks/margaret-t-hance-park.html. I look forward to seeing what this park turns into as it has such amazing potential!

This is not the closest place for me to go but it's by far the best. 3 large fenced in dog park areas, many types of friendly and fun pooches will be there for your fur babies to play with. It's fun for me to see all the different types of breeds that come here. Most of the pups are well behaved. I've seen a couple times some negligent owners on their phones so spaced out, don't pick up their dogs poop or watch what their dogs are doing, but as far as dog parks go- it's the best for not having to stress that something negative will happen. I've been to other dog parks in the area that just had bad vibes. This one is nice and happy. It's as clean as a dog park can be, they do regular maintenance to the grounds, and there is a huge parking lot. It's also nice to walk the dogs in that area as well. My boys love it here and I'm happy to take them. Important to note- check the hours on certain days since they do the maintenance and close the parks. I've shown up a couple times forgetting about this and it was closed, so we just went for a nice walk instead.
